Casual titles are up now... A pets game (Petz), a pedometer and calorie watcher for DS (My health coach), a game that helps you quit smoking, a secret diary game on DS (my secret world)... all very focused on family and education and DS.
On to Tom Clancy now... They're doin a 10yr anniversary recap... the future HAWX, EndWar.
HAWX looks incredible! Ace Combat might be in trouble...
EndWar. 3yrs development. 200 devs. Live demo... Voice only... I'm gobsma...
Woohoo! Just dropped a hint about Coop in FarCry 2, plus a live demo and trailer :)
I think the voice over guy in the trailer is the African actor from Blood Diamond?!
Okay the Zebras and Hang glider is very cool! And so is the procedural fire!
Prince of Persia guys talking now. New Prince. New location. Youngest game designer I've ever seen! No sands of time but AI support character called Elika (sounds like Fable 2 dog AI). New trailer! Looks very cool...
Yeah I don't really disagree.
If the graphics or combat doesn't hold up I think it'll be forgivable because they've only had as long as any other developer.
But if the core RPG gameplay or story is terrible there'll be hell to pay because that's been in development since the very beginning *cough* ten years *cough*.
I really do hope it gets +90% meta and that the story has people raving. If they do that, I think it'll be a job well done.
@CViper
Whilst it's been driving me nuts the last couple of days looking for this title on Metacritic, I think you're stretching it a bit too much with the fanboyism to suggest this is a conspiracy.
@ISA
Since when was 81% a flop?
EDIT
@ISA
Well Xbots are only as bad as their Sony fanboy counterparts.
As a gamer 81% is fine by me, and far from a flop.
EDIT:
@CViper below
...
I watched this twice now and I still can't believe it's real! WTF are Activision thinking? Maybe they took some acid on that world tour...
@ukilnme - cheers mate, I pay the same compliment to your posts! :)
@butterfinger - yeah it's nice to see Sony and MS starting to more openly encourage developers to innovate more. Some of the stuff on Nintendo is very cool, non shooters like Galaxy, Boom Blox and even the more basic Wii Fit have impressed me immensely with their fresh ideas. But even the shooters, particularly RE4 and Metroid3, have innovated the control schemes and gameplay in their genre.
Bubbles ...
The battlefront games were a lot of fun with multiplayer and with this having a fully co-op campaign on top this could be a real sleeper hit.
Pandemic really are coming of age. :)
Yeah this makes me laugh for all the fanboys who say that MS steals everything and yet Sony never does (sued for BluRay), and nor does Nintendo (sued for rumble).
In the event that more proof were needed, this just shows that they're all as bad as one another, but as a pleasant result we're all better off as gamers as these ideas are allowed to be tinkered and improved beyond the original inventors. :)
As a note it wasn't just Sony that stole the technology, but jus...
"The Jumping is too floaty"
Have you ever played Halo?
LBP is a 2D platformer because you can only move in two dimensions (x and y).
Banjo is a 3D platformer because you can move in three dimensions (x,y and z).
This just further illustrates how different these titles actually are.
You guys both make good points and I like the cheeky tit for tat without it getting nasty... NGII springs to mind on 360 (I'll buy it anyway) as does Madden 08 on PS3.
Now back on topic the two games are different products.
Banjo is a 3D open world platformer where the platform skills are determined by a user's imagination (eg. the vehicles) but the world itself is pre-designed and follows a largely linear narrative.
LBP is a 2D closed world platformer w...
Apparently the slowdown is only an issue in 1080p.
Either way the review was balanced and seems to understand exactly what NG2 is unlike some other reviewers who had problems with the difficulty and lack of story.
Can't wait. :)
Bubbles for tintin for making me chuckle!
But the funniest thing is the author is a self proclaimed PS3 fanboy!

This was all covered in last week's Shane Kim postings.
In fact the story above is an extract from the original source that was posted here

"Why will the attach rate stay at 40.1%? you are assuming that 40.1% of all new xbox owners are going to buy gears2 but what reason is there to believe this?"
I don't know if the logic is flawed but at least the guy explains himself!
If you read the article the guy notes that in two consecutive years the attach rate for the biggest shooter on 360 was 40.1% (Gears 1 and Halo 3), regardless of the number of 360s installed worldwide. It seems reasonable to ass...
I agree with what you're saying about the install base not always meaning bigger sales for games.
But I just feel that Gears is a much bigger property than your average game, and it's being released over the Christmas period and I would speculate a significant console price cut. Also it's a rare commodity along with Halo3, GTAIV & MGS4 in that it doesn't just sell well but it convinces people to buy the console, and that in turn boosts word of mouth sales over time.
<...
He looks pretty drunk to me and the ending is just gross.
The article really is an interesting read and maybe if some of the guys complaining read it they'd realise that even the analyst is pretty shocked by the numbers.
Anyway, according to his calculations Gears sold 3.3m in 10wks but with only 8.3m consoles about (the 2m Condi mentioned was in the US alone).
If he's saying there'll be 24m 360's by January 09 that's almost three times what it was when Gears was released in 06... 3 x 3.3m = 9.9m copies of Gears 2.
...
I don't know, having read the article (and submitting it) it's pretty convincing.
I mean Microsoft will probably promote Gears like Halo because MS just hasn't got any other big shooters this year like Resistance or Killzone.
Plus there will be twice as many 360's by the time Gears is released compared to when Halo was.
It could end up being like GTAIV, where the PS3 attach rate was much higher but the 360 sold more copies simply because there were m...
Yeah I'm watchin and kinda doin a live comments blog... lol
Shaun White Snowboarding looks like a new take on snowboarding with sandbox peaks and Wii integration.
New Soul Caliber IV trailer... looking tasty.
End trailer was a surprise! It was a short film with the pig from Beyond Good and Evil. Looked fantastic!
Big Bummer of the show - No Sam Fisher :(
