I own both as well and I thought it was a well balanced article. I didn't agree with everything he said, for me Xbox Live is a mile ahead of the competition even when you factor in the subscription, but he made an effort to justify his beliefs rather than just making inflammatory remarks. That's more than I can say for fanboys on both sides of the fence!
This game is just looking better and better. I hope SK pull it off! :)
Apparently I'm "BELLY-UPPER"! lol
6.1 on 360 & 5.3 on PS3.
Is it just me or is it becoming clearer as each new game's released that GTAIV (and perhaps MGS4 privately) have completely changed the benchmark for games journalists when they're reviewing new releases?
He's entertaining but he often hits the nail on the head without the high minded pseudo-intellectual discussion that often accompanies game reviews.
(that's all I have to say)
I'm guessing half the people above didn't read the article. Marcus is in there at no. 9 (and so is Sam Fisher!). But no Sony identifiable characters, not even Solid. :(
That's because the article and study compares Europe to the United States, not North America.
"Gaming generated EUR 7.3 billion (USD 11.4 billion) in the European Union during 2007, compared with EUR 7.4 billion (USD 11.5 billion) in Asia and EUR 6.9 billion (USD 10.7 billion) in the United States."
and
"The research, entitled Videogamers in Europe – 2008, was compiled by Nielsen Games based upon surveys of 6000 active gamers, aged 16-49, across 15 countries: the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Benelux, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Sweden,...
"Knowing MS...I wouldn't deny that they're probably doing the same thing."
Yep that's what they did with NG2! lol
@DARK KNIGHT
I don't know what's going on with Splinter Cell, but I do know you'll be the one looking like an even bigger fool if it turns up at E3! lol
I wonder how long that'll last... 24hrs later and I'm still in disbelief!
Activision apparently dropped too much acid on that "world tour"...
@decapitator
Yeah and the bad arse jokes that didn't stop!
I actually though the Raving Rabbids dancing game kinda like Guitar Hero but with dancemoves and nunchucks was pretty funny.
No doubt we'll see EA & Activision scrambling to make "dance hero" the next big franchise.
EndWar's live demo all done by voice command had me gobsmacked and I'm not even an RTS junkie!
Highlight, Best Live Demo & Most Applause - EndWar
Best Surprise & Best News - Teaser of Beyond Good & Evil 2
Impressive - HAWX & Far Cry 2
Promising - Prince of Persia & Soul Calibur
Meh! - Brothers in Arms and Shaun White
Best to get Drunk To & use your arse as a controller - Raving Rabbids :)
Best of casuals - Petz
Biggest cashin - My health coach
WTF? - My secret...
looks hilarious. Using your arse on the wiifit balance board and playing that dancing guitar hero like game with the nunchucks look like gold! :)
Endwar was the best by far... it got the loudest applause to even more so than Beyond Good or Evil 2!
The graphics are in game assets as noted by Ubisoft's president before trailer was shown.
It's fantastic news! :)
