They've been ramping up production for Halo: Chronicles but I'd be very surprised if Microsoft announced that for 08. Halo 3 is still performing well and Halo: Chronicles would probably steal too much hype from Gears 2.
Halo Wars makes sense because it's a more niche console genre as in an RTS, but then it'll have to compete in the shadow of the groundbreaking EndWar which could end badly.

I disagree MK. I never played the original game and I only downloaded it because it was $15. I can understand why the game would've rocked in its time but I tend to agree with the reviewer who marks it down because a re-released Black has to be compared to current competition like CoD4 and Bioshock.
EDIT: And according to the site the review was published 31 May 2008. So it's not old.
Having said all that I'd love to see a BLACK 2. :)

The game was re-released on Xbox Originals last month, hence the new review. You could of read the description above to find that out! lol
Personally I thought it was pretty tight and was an almost old-school shooter in its simplicity. Still looks good to!
Would be nice to see a sequel really push the next gen hardware to the limits, and give some competition to the destruction orgy of Battlefield: Bad Company.

Microsoft, Shane Kim in particular, have been very vocal about their past mistakes (a rarity!) with Too Human and Alan Wake being announced and shown too early, as they have of Sony with Home and Killzone (common!).

I never said people should be happy about the reviews being lower than others. What I have said is that you should accept a reviewer's right to an opinion, even if you completely disagree with the score.
And yes I do love my 360. But I also love my PS3, Wii, PS2 and Gamecube. God help me I love gaming! :)

8's a great score in EDGE mag. (And don't anybody start that "MS is paying them and is bias" stuff again! Reviews are not facts, they are opinions.)
I was always getting MGS4, so what's got more of my attention is an 8 for Civilization Revolution (for a console strategy game!) and a 9 for Grid. Looks like my wallet is going to get a much bigger battering than I had intended. :(

I think Halo Wars is a given. But Alan Wake? Shane Kim has said that they're just not ready to be shown yet but that would be a huge surprise!
As for the "Newton" well that's coming this year regardless of whether it's unvelied at E3 (most likely)... or not. Plus there's still questions over Scene It 2 and Ninja Blade which were in the press kit at Microsoft's Showcase but never showed, although I wouldn't regard them as "big".

As much as I love MGS4 it's not a mainstream game, but rather a hardcore game directed almost entirely at the fans of the series. Reviews will be mixed based on whether one enjoys the style of Kojima or not. Like any great artist, Kojima's work is divisive and as such opinion will be divided. That means a lot of 10/10 on one side and quite a few 9/10 and lower on the other.
GTAIV on the other hand is a crowd pleaser, the most mainstream of games. If there's something in it you do...
Wow 8/10 is high! The demo had some great elements (escaping embassy) and some shockers (driving). I'll put my money on a Meta score round about 7/10. :)
Although I thought EndWar should be there because of its potential industry wide influence (voice control) and Too Human simply because the ten years are almost up and everyone will be watching to see how the penny drops.
Star Wars Force Unleashed and it's technology showcase and Wii integration should have put it on the list as well. So bubbles to Maverick! :)
