It's great to see developers really trying fresh approaches to movie licensed games. I'm sure to pick this one up at some stage as I really enjoyed the cinematic appeal of the first part of the demo.

You miss my point.

You stated:

"I think we all have relatives and people we know that do not even know how to use a computer yet..."

And that's absolutely correct and therefore they are not part of the console buying market and they are irrelevant to market predictions.

You asked:

"The PS2 was always a good deal as a DVD player... how come it didn't become the #1 player for the mainstream?"

Becau...

I was pretty sure they sold at profits in US but wasn't sure about the EU after the recent price cuts. Thanks for clarifying. Bubbles

Have you got a link I can refer to for future?

Whilst you're correct in the mainstream pricing argument. It is complicated by the PS3's multimedia capacity and may be further complicated by the 360's rumoured "Newton" controls.

If you're asking who'll be the first under $200 the answer is the 360. It is now selling at break even compared to the PS3's estimated loss of as much as $260 per console. Microsoft built a machine with established parts in high supply, it also got a year's head start to recover early manufac...

Whilst I disagree with parts of your argument you argued intelligently and with good grace. So Bubbles! :)

Personally, I think the 360 has already plateaued at or around 135K/week worldwide until a further price cut. The PS3 has seen a boost since the start of the year and should continue to average around 200K/week, although MGS4 may well give a temporary boost to sales. But both of these consoles aren't seeing any significant long term increases in their growth rates. Other tha...

I logged in just so I could agree with you Fishy! Bubbles. :)

Yeah agree. No need to put any more expectations on a game that already has too much weight on its shoulders.

An opinion is only worth as much as the value you place on it.

EDGE are notoriously harsh and have a tendency to reward innovation over story or pretty graphics. But then only people who read their critiques would understand and value that, as opposed to fanboys who just look at the scores or choice quotes. :)

First off Halo 3's exceptional scores had little to do with its story or graphics.

Sure the single player really wasn't all that special until you turned the difficulty up and the AI was noticeably tougher. And the story was popcorn movie cliche. As a single player campaign Halo CE leaves the rest for dead, Halo 2 was convoluted and cheap, Halo 3 was satisfying but not inspiring.

But I think all that misses why Halo 3 was so highly rated for its time. Firstly, it pre...

How you can't have Halo, Ninja Gaiden, Fable and Forza on the list I don't know?!

I thought it was a fascinating article. The military complex is a rich source for videogame material, and I have to admit I was greatly disappointed at the failure of Army of Two to capitalise fully on it's rich sources such as PMC's and Blackwater.

I agree Fishy. I really don't get the Halo hate.

Halo 3 multiplayer is still ahead of its time. The matchmaking, game type diversity, custom games, 4player co-op campaign, screenshots, film capture, and in particular Forge all far exceeded any game of its time and in many ways still do almost nine months on.

Sure the single player really wasn't all that special until you turned the difficulty up and the AI was noticeably tougher. And the story was popcorn movie clich...

Even the linked article on their own site acknowledges that Take Two said Q1 of it's "Fiscal Year" 2009, and then goes on to say that means November 1st 2008 - January 31st 2009! lol

Have a look at http://www.destructoid.com/...

IDIOTS! :P

I agree with your sentiments but having spent significant time researching the title and its depth I can't forsee a critical failure.

In regards to your example I don't accept it as I personally regard Silicon Knights on a whole other level to Free Radical, even before Haze's release.

The biggest problem Too Human faces is convincing people that after ten years it's really worth their time. A great demo will be critical. Otherwise poor sales may well deem it a f...

Silicon Knights have a track record for superlative games with great stories, they also know how to push gaming boundaries. Anybody who's had the privilege of playing Eternal Darkness and considers the amount of time that they've spent developing this title should know that this is a title to watch very carefully. I'm fairly confident of it being a critical hit, but I'm not to sure about sales.

Personally the more I learn the more I realise this is a book who's cover barely hints...

It's a real shame you had to resort to name calling as an argument...

My issue from the get go was not the news itself but the assertions made in the article. I stated some nine hours ago that the title and article were misleading and factually wrong. Meaning:

1) Rockstar hasn't spoken on the matter as the article claims, rather Take Two made a public statement.

2) The article claims Rockstar made a statement but doesn't have a credible source to support...

Rockstar has not said or confirmed anything on the matter as this story claims (fake!) and Take Two has confirmed the delay of DLC until November 1st 2008 - January 31st 2009 and not as the title claims "Q1 2009" (January 2009 - March 2009) or as the article in question claims "been delayed until 2009" (fake!).

Additionally all the alternatives you've posted are sourced from Take Two's financial statement which I've posted numerous times, but apparently to no...

Given the phantom disagrees, I should also note that unlike this article and website which are not accountable for this BS...

Take Two's financial report makes them entirely accountable to their shareholders and the stock exchange. When they say it will be released Q1 FY 2009 that means November 1st - January 31st.

You can view Take Two's report here and hopefully educate yourselves:

Report the story for the fake it is. :)

Wow did you look at the Meta score or something?! :/

8/10 seems fair. It's a sequel that's no great improvement on an original that garnered many 9/10's. Seems about right to me. :)
