@kewlkatt
Don't get me wrong. I love the cover! :)
But I thought MS was really trying to push the family friendly angle with their Christmas lineup outside of Too Human and Gears. The established hardcore Fable fans will buy it regardless of cover but the less informed consumers will buy largely based on covers... hence their importance. Molyneux has been quite vocal about the streamlined combat system, co-op and scalable difficulty to encourage a more casual crowd t...
Just make Oddworld: Strangers Wrath compatible and I'll be happy! :)
The game's got a Metacritic of 61!
It's like promising MGS4 but giving me Haze instead! lol
Nice lineup compared to previous years.
Some promising new IPs, some AAA Wii titles and a couple of big sequels. Nice. :)
As a hardcore gamer the cover looks a lot more serious and that's a good thing. But for Mums and Dads buying over Christmas it's hardly a welcoming and friendly cover to convince them to buy it for lil' Timmy!
Read the article MK! It's got a humorous tilt on what games will "turn you on" rather than being a top ten list.
For example Pure = pure unadulterated fun, LBP = something to do with sacks :/, and Shiki-Tei = a garden with naked greek statues...
I agree. All creation in business and art is based on the influence and ideas of other, that's how innovation occurs!
As for the leaks, I'm pretty sure it's a deliberate move by MS to smother MGS4 coverage and build brand awareness/hype leading into E3. I'd also agree that all parties will have cards up their sleeves and this is merely MS letting some of the lesser ones go for publicity and a bit of misdirection so they all shock us with an Alan Wake or Halo Chronicles reveal com...
That's if they have any employees...
Partial translation of Japanese news reports according to Kotaku states:
"On June 16th, two Tecmo employees filed suit with the Tokyo District Court for unpaid wages, demanding 8.3 million yen ($AU 81,570) in payment. According to the suit, the workers were illegally placed on a "flexible hours" work scheme, starting four years ago. From that point, overtime wasn't paid, apparently. The plaintiffs represent all 300 ...
Yeah Mass Effect is my personal fave as well. It innovated all over the place and I think some people got unnecessarily caught with the pop in and framerate instead of recognising it as the most innovative RPG this gen. The dialogue system (and quality) alone was revolutionary and will no doubt be seen not only in future RPGs but many EA titles in particular. I can already envision player interviews and press events in Madden utilising the same system.
If you haven't played Etern...
Funny how someone disagrees with both of our sentiments but can't find it in themselves to add to the discussion... gotta love N4G! lol
It's funny that you mention Silicon Knights because I have a firm belief largely based on their historical record, that Too Human is going to push a lot of boundaries and reinvigorate the action and RPG genres. If they were to aid Itagaki on production values we wouldn't have any camera problems and we'd have a ridiculously deep story... anybody ...
Bubbles for being a smart arse in a language I can't understand! :)
Tell me about it!
I blocked that idiot ages ago. He puts his 360 equivalent, PoG, to shame. lol
So jealous of your trip to Le Mans!
I agree with your philosophy. Be a gamer not a hater. :)
BACK OT:
As for MGS4, a great game and an important boost for the PS3 hardware, but early sales figures seem to suggest that it remains one for the fans and a generally hardcore niche title.
I think Hydrolex is in the ballpark wit...
If that's the case you're an incredibly sad individual. You have posted on other stories that 8/10 and 9/10 aren't justified by the reasons the authors give and yet you're quite happy to blindly accept a 10/10 without any reason given?!
The game is no doubt awesome in my opinion. But I'd like to understand why others feel the same. What they liked and didn't. Otherwise what's the point of a review in the first place?!
EDIT:
And according to your comment ...
I completely agree. It's just I'm a hardcore NG fan! And I think NG if overhauled could become a much more commercially serious franchise. Or so I hope! lol
I think Microsoft would have a lot to gain in grabbing Team Ninja and Itagaki. Although I do feel that Itagaki would require a much shorter leash than that extended to the far more experienced and rounded Mistwalker team. Team Ninja is a largely established team that could fill a major hole in MGS, namely action orientated t...
Clever article. Titles named are as follows:
Little Big Planet
Killzone 2
Resistance 2
Resident Evil 5
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift
Pure
PixelJunk Monsters Encore
Guitar Hero World Tour
Rock Band
Shiki-Tei
Ah Fishy the title of the article is.
"Pure: Pure looking better than MotorStorm 2"
Just click the link. :)
EDIT:
@Fishy
Yeah it worked a treat! lol
Stupid comparison.
This is starting to look a hell of a lot more serious than one pissed off arrogant game designer!
Tecmo Dead or Alive? It's looking increasingly dead and/or dying. Or as NeoGaf put it no smoke without fire. ;)
If it does go under, I just hope that MS snaps up the NG2 & Fatal Frame IP rights and gives Team Ninja a new home. ;)
You miss the point of Halo Wars, EndWar and Civ Revolution. They are designed from the ground up to use the strengths of the console as opposed to PC ports which merely expose the formats weaknesses (No K&B and micromanagement).
The aformentioned titles are really a new form of RTS/TBS that have little in common with their PC cousins. They are an evolution of the genre and I hope the beginning of a new sub-genre. They are perhaps better labeled as action-RTS, RTT (real-time t...
I agree that Halo Wars and EndWar look promising and I think it's because they are new takes on the RTS genre that play to a consoles strengths. Conventional RTSs get bogged down on consoles largely due to the micromanagement. But as Civ Revolution has already proved with TBS, designing Console Based Strategy (CBS) rather than just porting RTS can be mightily successful and offer a new and faster paced experience. :)
I'm in the EndWar beta and it not only breaks new ground, but b...
@MK
"Hopefully it doesn't end up with an AO."
I doubt it, although the bloodier swordplay, getting bashed up whilst pregnant, prostitutes, online bullying in co-op, STDs and homosexual relationships/marriage are sure to rile American conservatives to no end. :)
