I thought it was a mistake and should of been 4/10! lol

But no I checked and it's a 80% score! But I also found out the following compared to Metacritic in brackets...

They gave NG2 75%(80%), Lost Odyssey 65%(78%), and yet in contrast somehow NFS: ProStreet 90%(72%) and Bliss Island, one of the worst XBLA titles, 90% (43%)!

Clearly they have very different tastes or are complete and utter bonkers! Hmmmmmmm...

I think a WoW comparison is a bit of a tangent but I agree that Too Human has a lot of potential that isn't going to be conveyed by journalists or gamers who've played for an hour. Which is great as there'll be a demo out a full month prior to release, and gold copies sent to reviewers with enough time for multiple playthroughs so they can thoroughly "get it".

I'd also add that Too Human beyond it's developers outstanding pedigree must have something going for it when.....

The graphics and sound scores are harsh... seems like they didn't like the Sims-like gibberish (which you can turn off), the close camera (you can zoom out!) and exaggerated caricatures. Personally I loved both and the game is far more accessible, lighhearted and focused on action, rather than the seriousness of of a PC monitor with endless menus and micromanagement.

The online component, which includes weekly maps and scenarios as well as three multiplayer modes and online leade...

I generally agree mate. The bottom line is if I can have the best of both worlds with multiple consoles I will. No need to hate on others, as both systems are better as a result of the intense competition. I also agree with your preference, for me if I'm playing online I'm playing on the 360 and everytime I go to play some PSN Warhawk or MGO it reminds me of how lucky I am to have Live. The two services really are chalk and cheese.

That Goblin Man story was awesome I wish they'd ramp that up. Maybe release it as a free doco on Live around E3. It really had me going for a while... and managed to get me really interested in Norse Mythology which I'd pretty much ignored prior, and heightened my interest in Too Human's story.

If that doco is any indication of Too Human's storytelling ability I suspect we're in for a treat. :)

Go back and look at the GDC 08 coverage and you'll find that the press response was overwhelmingly positive, despite their universal panning of the E3 2006 showing.

The comparisons to Diablo are flattering, but I suspect this game pushes well beyond that and its greatest problem with journalists and player may be that it's not so easily defined/pigeonholed as a traditional gaming genre/experience but is a a real genre-bender that breaks all kinds of gaming rules whilst also stick...

Let's say that beyond DD I have contacts that have supported his claims that the code is perfectly capable of 4 player co-op, but that play testing revealed it to be a confusing mess that wasn't all that much fun. Having seen 2 player with my own eyes and the amount of action going on, I can't believe how the hell 4player co-op would work effectively with exactly the same maps and enemy numbers. The good news is that if as I've been informed and DD claims, the code still sup...

Silicon Knights have a track record for superlative games with great stories and gameplay that pushes boundaries in their genres. Anybody who's had the privilege of playing Eternal Darkness and considers the amount of time that they've spent developing this title should know that this is a title to watch very carefully and not dismiss so lightly.

Sure the engine is relatively new being developed over the last 2yrs but the core mechanics in terms of D&D, balancing and story ha...

@green.

Agree. The survival element, intensity and coop dependency will set this apart from other FPS. The fact I can play as a zombie to screw other gamers progress is even better and more sadistic! lol

It's nice to see a game that's been floating under the radar, albeit with great press, to finally get some much needed attention. Outside of Gears 2 & Resistance 2 and Battlfield: Bad Company this will be the only other shooter I'll buy this year. Unless Treyach ...

LoL. You beat me to it!

@PoG

Your point is entirely reasonable but when your own spelling (cycology!) and grammar (seemingly?) is in need of a polish and a need to "think before you typed that", it's a bit rich to attack others for their "seemingly comprehension skills"!

I spent less time playing it than I did downloading it. Hell I didn't even finish the demo it was that bad! lol

6456d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

It was that bad... Although I might have been more forgiving and given it a 3! lol

How they stuffed up a story of Nazis as werewolves, vampires, zombies and dragons in WW2 I'll never understand. That concept had awesome over the top silly fun written all over it, although I do wonder how the hell they pitched it?!

@blindfromthesun & iamtehpwn

Completely agree. Bad games are bad games regardless of platform. And all gamers should hate them and hide their money from such developers to kill this disgraceful shovelware.

You couldn't pay me to play PS3 exclusives Lair, Haze or Gundam.
You couldn't pay me to play 360 exclusives Operation Darkness, Bomberman: Act Zero or Vampire Rain (avoid it at all costs if it does turn up on PS3 in August)
And don't get me started ...

I played one last night and I'm sure to do the same again tonight. It's actually kept me off the EndWar Beta! lol

What I love about this new Civ is that other than a streamlined tech tree, unit list, corruption and the ability to assign a governor to auto build. It's all still there, but not as obvious or as potentially off putting as the screens of info in the PC version. The maps have been shrunk, build times reduced, civilization and wonder bonuses increased, and combat vastly...

Well put Isaac. Whilst I wouldn't say "COD2 is garbage compared to COD4", they are most certainly different beasts but leaders in their respective sub-genres. In my opinion COD2 is the best WWII shooter and COD4 is at the top of post 9-11/Modern shooters.

I couldn't agree more that the fact that there is so much hate towards Treyarch is largely a result of "fanboyism, hate, idiocy and stupidity." Although I'd argue there are still plenty of gamers around, we'r...

Depending on how you play the game, you could probably win being mighty aggressive within 4hrs. But if you took your time it could well take much longer than that (I had one match beyond 8hrs). Personally it's a welcome change from the fortnight long campaigns on PC. I can pick this up and finish a game over a couple of nights. What's amazing is that the bulk of Civ is still there, but it's either behind the scenes or is deceptively controlled by the player through seamless menus without him ...

Bubbles for you and the bloke above you. :p

@LevDog's EDIT

Errr. That $50m of DLC has yet to be revealed/released and may well have a slow burn affect on consoles sales, particularly if the console enters a more mainstream friendly price range, just like I expect MGS4 and the bundle to do for the PS3 over the next six months.

This is actually old news from May so I don't know why Kotaku is reporting March 31 financial reports now?! Hmmmmmmm... lol

But anyways the financial reports showed Sony gaming division losses as above. $2.2bn last year and $1.2bn this year ending March 2008 so to start with the Kotaku article is misleading. As noted by the Guardian back in May ( http://www.n4g.com/industry... the PS2 & PSP profit...

@fenderputty

Well pointed out. This is nothing new but the extents of the losses do mean a price cut this year is highly unlikely. which given the profitability of the 360 and Wii could become an issue if Sony's competitors cut prices. When you consider Wii's profitability since launch and the estimated break even point that MS is now approaching over the lifetime of the 360, a loss of US$244/console (based on 3.31bn/13.58m consoles) for Sony, opens the door for MS to cut their p...
