Niko treats Bernie just the same as anybody else. Despite his initial shock that his army pal's batting for the other team, he remains a loyal friend and doesn't judge him based on sexuality.
Did these guys play the game? Or are they just easily offended by a game that characterises based on stereotypes? What's next... Jamaicans outraged at Little Jacob's portrayal?
I knew tintin and Bruce were not fans of each other, but that little tit for tat between you two is the best representation of why creatives and suits don't get along. You think differently and come from entirely different perspectives.
I don't always agree with you Bruce, nor tintin.
But I'm a great admirer of tintin's work with Bullfrog and EA, amongst others, and hold similar regard for Bruce's work at Codemasters.
As such I don't have to agree, but I...
It's funny I heard rumours that suggested as much a couple of months back ( http://www.n4g.com/gaming/N... and nobody else seemed to take notice and I personally didn't want to get my hopes up... How times have changed! :)
Can't wait.
Hehe and don't forget Galactic Civilization II, the Space game looks insane and is apparently infinite according to Will Wright!
This I believe is the game to beat for GoTY.
Yeah the picture's awesome, if the remote is more Minority Report and less Wii I'm all for it. :)
Well Alpha might disappoint you Slapping. Because the gameplay action is front and centre with the RPG stats/levelling more subtly in the background.
Here you go:

There are others, particulary one from about three months back that spurred my interest but can't find it. :(
EDGE's is by far the best I've read recently though. It's nice to see Obsidian stepping up to the plate with their very own and very orignal IP.
I'm not going to predict Killzone 2 a flop, but I feel pretty confident Insomniac & Resistance 2 will leave it for dead. :)
Yeah I've been watching this for a while now. Odsidian have chosen a theme that's rarely been used if ever in the RPG world and they've stripped back the stats to a more real time based levelling system. It's clear they're out to prove a point. EDGE did a great preview on it a while back and it looks fantastic.
Just to add some extra perspective to Chris' comment. Both games are likely to satisfy fans and will be great. But if we're talking sales, Gears 2 will sell more hands down. Currently:
Gears of War has sold 5.25m.
Resistance has sold 2.9m (best selling PS3 exclusive to date although MGS4 is closing).
Completely agree. One's an FPS, the other is a TPS. Both will sell buckets and both look to improve on their prequels in different ways. I'll buy and enjoy both.
The only reason there's a comparison is fanboys on both sides can wave their bits in front of a virtual measuring tape! Pathetic.
They're the same thing (trophies have behind the scenes points that enable the levelling). But the Trophies are prettier to look at and the levelling is more pleasing than random points. My only problem with Trophies is that they're not a mandatory requirement of developers and until such we may still get games that don't support the scheme.
But at the end of the day, regardless of names or superficial differences, both of them have the same intent and affect - To give gamers an ...
The trophies have a behind the scenes points value so there's not much different except for visual aesthetics and the awesome Platinum trophies for completionists.
The real meat is the RPG levelling which is a nice, albeit superficial, change that will resonate with gamers a lot more than random points.
Regardless, Sony and MS gamers are now one and can whore together! ;)
Sony gamers welcome to the world of achievements/trophies. Sony's idea with platinum trophies and RPG levelling just makes it even more dangerously addictive.
And trickster you're spot on. Bubbles! :)
I'd only add
4. It gives games a life beyond their standard story gameplay, encouraging players to explore parts of games that they wouldn't have otherwise found or played.
Yeah Forza has a special place in my heart for its deep simulation, but GRID is just fun. Pick up and play fun.
It's easily the best racer (arcade or sim) this year and I actually think 3.5/5 is too low a score.
Whilst the PC has been a mile ahead in user generated content, I think the key difference with consoles is that the tools and accessibility of creation are far more gamer friendly. Look at Halo 3, SSBB or even Bloom Blox! They put the tools in a gamers hands without scaring them off with code, downloads, textures or the potential complexity that is hidden behind their simple appearance.
That titles will have additional reasons to play and a longer lifespan on consoles, so long as the community continues to produce content.
Look at Halo 3 with it's user generated toolset headed by the ground breaking Forge and ably backed up by the massive options set for Custom Games and the film and screenshot tools that encourage the crazy amounts of YouTube and Live Machinima.
If that game was about the single player it may well have been dead on arrival, but ...
Yeah this is just a cheap shot at the PS3 installs. The real reason is so MS can push those movie downloads, Xbox Originals and XBLA that much more.
Just wanted to add to my previous comment that having gone from Too Human to Assassins Creed in the last couple of days, I think that is a far better comparison of how people will react to this game. They'll love it or hate it. But there'll no doubt be complaints about repetitive gameplay. :)
Interestingly enough AC has a metacritic of 81, so I'm feeling pretty confident about my meta score guess for Too Human. ;)
MS has categorically dismissed a PC version. So if you want to play it lets just hope the controls work. :)
