Wow bring backs some memories, and bring up some tears...
I've played great games before and since, but Bullfrog remain my favourite developer of all time ( *^$&@%*$(@^$)@!#*()@!*#+# EA!)...
And LBA is a great call, I spent way more time on that game than most console titles today... that, Civilization and everything else by Micropose, Bullfrog and the old LucasArts! lol
I understand where you guys are coming from, and if we're talking mainstream marketing and advertising, you're correct.
But there's been a definite effort to promote the game to the hardcore through the countless videos on the web.
My problem is that I believe Too Human will only find significant financial success through promoting its mainstream appeal. Unlike the hardcore they are much less interested in textures, resolutions, development times, repetitive gameplay...
I wouldn't worry too much this isn't the company hired by MS to design the controller. It's actually being designed by Schematics, the brains behind that interface in Minority Report.

And without the glasses!
I agree about MGS4, which whilst I enjoyed could've have been extra-ordinary if it took the alleged Halo: Chronicles approach to cut scene.
If I could of played half the cut scenes in MGS4 it would be much closer to the top of my all time favourites. :)
Back on topic: Let's hope all this speculation's on track, cause it'll be one hell of an E3 show if it is! lol
EDIT:
@Pwn - I agree I'd much rather be immersed than passive. Bioshock and Por...
Haha maybe that's my luck... I'm a citizen of both! :)
"The closest parallel I can draw is a much more tightly directed, scripted and dramatically paced MGS4 where the cut-scenes are the game itself, with a more advanced “interactive philosophy” than that seen in the entirely dialogue focused system in Mass Effect’s cinematics. It will demand player choice that is truly interactive, has real consequences and that progresses the narrative down distinctly different paths."
The last part sounds like a marketing pitch! lol But ...
After the GTAIV fiasco Australian Customs made the following comment to PC World:
"Imported copies of GTA IV could potentially fall within the definition of a prohibited import, if they contain material above the MA 15+ rating [given to the Australian version of the game]"...
"The maximum penalty for this type of offence is a fine of up to $110,000. Customs may detain or seize any items that are suspected of contravening the regulations."
...
Haha! I'd never thought of that. Maybe he's realised 12million audience members on Live is a far better financial proposition than an unknown audience for a much more expensive film production, marketing and distribution exercise.
Bubbles for raising two really good points! :)
Yeah I don't know. It sounds like a buy to me but I suspect with all this talk of it being episodic, Microsoft might use it as a trojan horse to develop a new type of episodic "interactive" game income stream.
The stories would have to be pretty complex, diverse and epic to warrant replay value. Although given Peter Jackson's history I don't think that'd be a problem! lol
All I know is if the author is right and it's as action packed as Lord of the Rings, as polished as MGS4 and then let's me truly "direct" the picture then I'll be very interested... if not sold.
Although I have a sneaking suspicion about how the site's that hammered MGS4 for the cut scenes, will react to this? lol
Star Ocean 4 is listed under the 360 along with Infinite Undiscovery.
I very much suspect they're holding FFXIII and tactics for their, or Sony's, press conference.
I've explained the plight above, so have a read!
The majority of Australians want the change, but a minority controls a veto power that prevents it from happening anytime soon.
Thanks for the kind words. :)
Literature receives the most liberal regulations, with nothing refused classification unless it is a threat to national security or children, animals, etc (I think you get my drift...)
All other visual media (movies, magazines, games, TV) is rated under a universal system that moves from from G, PG & M15 which are all recommendations but have no legal restrictions (ie a 2yr old can legally crawl into an M15 movie). We then have MA15+ which requires anyone under the age of 15 ...
This has got to be the worst kept secret in the industry. Is this deliberate? Are MS trying to mislead everyone for a bigger surprise? Or is this just the case of bucket with too many holes to plug?
Either way E3 should just hurry up and get here!
Yeah but unfortunately they've been building up customs so that if you're caught you can be fined $1,500+ for importing a banned product.
Unless the politicians hurry up and get off their high horses, I fear Gears 2 and Prototype may share very similar fates. Maybe even Fable 2 with it's dabblings with sexuality and prostitutes? :(
I know the OFLC is doing their job. But really the politicians should pull the fence posts out of their fence-sitting backsides and let adults have the freedoms that they claim we're protecting when we go to war and commit REAL violence!
I actually thought this was a really pretty title. No complaints about the graphics here! :)
It's so laughably typical that a positive and legitimate preview for a game that some are out to hate gets no heat, whilst a dishonest and I-haven't-even-played-it preview goes to the top of the front page!
Ridiculous...
Wow! LBA had a bullet to the head impact when I played it as a kid. This damn article just made me want to replay what in my opinion has always been the best adventure game I've ever played (BGE was good, but not that good!). Nice to see some other old-school fans. Bubbles for your "mature" taste! :)
On that list the only one I haven't played and continue to remind myself to find the time is Bloodlines. Some people rave about it and how unique and RPG it is. So yet anot...
