I really don't get the Haze/Lair comparisons except for Sony fanboys wanting to "get one back" at MS.

This game is very much love or hate. But a far fairer comparison is Assassin's Creed.

No other game has needed a good demo so badly! :)

This needs to do what Bioshock did with its demo and make players want more.

I think it'll hit a metacritic of around 8. But it will be slammed by some and loved by others, leading to a variety of wild scoring with as many 7's as 9's. If there is such thing as acquired taste, I'd suggest Too Human is it. :)

Remind me next time they give MGS4 a 10 to claim "leave it to IGN to twist a terrible PS3 outting into some sort of acceptable mess."

They call it as they see it. Unlike you who clearly posted in the wrong zone. Open zone is that way >>>>>>>

I agree Wood, but Sony has been a lot easier for Kotaku to pick on in recent times than MS, largely because of their far-off promises and the fact that they were uncontested last generation.

But just wait and see what happens to MS if the "Newton" unveiling is a failure or Home upstages everyone. Kotaku will burn them for months and probably for the rest of the year! All in pursuit of traffic... lol ;)

I disagree. Outside of Spore, LBP, Banjo 3, Killzone 2's graphics and Resistance 2's online abilities, Too Human is really trying to redefine genre boundaries and the concept of a cyberpunk Diablo working on consoles. It's also why if it fails it will only have itself to blame for its huge ambitions.

My only hope is they take the two months of time up their sleeve, take IGN and others advice, and implement the changes recommended. Which really aren't that major except for the slo...

Yeah I've always been a PES gamer, although Fifa08 really trumped a lot of PES cards. Peter Moore's excitement and pushing of Fifa 09 over other titles in the EA Sports stable is making me a tad nervous about the outcome for PES this year.

@mike

I hope that was sarcasm. I own both systems and until now whenever it's a multi I play 360 largely for achievements - not just for score, but often for challenges that exceed normal gameplay and reward me. The trophies, RPG levelling and Platinum trophies in particular, are great innovations over the basic MS Achievement system. The fact that you can have friends look at them in Home will only further increase their whore attracting abilities. ;)

@soul

Before the fanboys turn this "GoW killer" myth into an N4G "fact". Anybody care to give me proof and links to where that was said by a credible source?

6551d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

It got deleted as that claim was made by a forum poster with zero credibility and hence against N4G guidelines.

Kind of like running a news item on a comment in the open zone! lol

Gee you came out of the woodwork. Anymore "idiot of the year" award worthy performances, or are you just here to hate?

And yes this Too Human preview is a concern although largely fixable, beyond the Diablo similarities, within two months.

I think people, particularly those who take things more literally, don't get Kotaku. They are bias against everybody. That's their hook and the basis of what they regard as "tongue-in-cheek". Zero Punctuation is the closest behavioural comparison, although I'd argue Yahtzee is much better at it.

Kotaku are largely cynical humorists. It's no doubt an acquired (read British and Australian) taste. But as such they give sh!t to everybody. Negativity and cynicism is their &q...

I agree Fishy. This article lacks credibility and the poster has complete disregard for N4G guidelines.

@ Mike Bowden

Who stated: "Stop judging everything you don't like by your own standards."

I'm not. It's called N4G standards, and I have one of those NDA's you claim this guy has, and I can tell you it does not restrict such criticisms. How the hell do you think MTV, UGO, NZGamer, Kotaku, Wired and IGN published their criticisms?!

Anyways nice hands on that basically says Diablo fans mark this down for must have in August 08.

The summary was on the ball to with The Ugly particularly apt:

"The Good:
Killer gameplay, gorgeous loot.

The Bad:
You can't customise your appearance.

The Ugly:
Fanboy haters."

@ilikecruiser

exactly, which is why I'll pick it up and form my own opinions rather than listening to an anonymous forum poster who has no proven credibility.

Exactly right. This story has been reported as SPAM until the forum poster identifies himself as a developer or someone of similar credibility.

I agree Fishy and have reported the above as SPAM!

I can see it happening. Sony gamers are human, just like MS gamers, despite the assertions of fanboys on either side to the contrary.

It's a blatant rip off of Achievements although the idea of levels instead of a gamerscore is a very welcome idea, to seperate score mongers from completionists. The platinum trophies are a particularly awesome idea and sure to get the whores going! ;)

I'm different. I believe that whilst games surprises are likely from all sides, it's the hardware, pricing, motion controls and online announcements that could be game changing this year. And I'm not just talking about MS. ;)

Yep MS has learnt this year to keep their mouth shut. They have probably immeasurably hurt Too Human with the E3 o6 debacle and similarly Alan Wake. Sony has yet to learn the lesson from Haze and their console hyp...
