Huge? This is earth shattering. Watch the Internet go into meltdown, unfreaking believable!
Just adding to Pirates comments. I just finished a second playthrough and it gets more complex.
X becomes your special creature bonus. B is evade/roll. and Y is your spider bot (Essentially a sentry that you can configure as a turrent/grenadier/proximity mine). In addition to that there are a whole heap of different guns, including lasers and plasma rifles with mounted grenade launchers - in which case you use the left trigger for grenades and the right trigger for firing.
...
Yeah I'm not as pumped for prototype, much more stoked for Mercs 2 which looks like over the top crazy destruction awesomeness! lol
Prince of Persia sounds gimped with quick-time events! :(
I really was like WTF for the first 15mins with the weird controls, camera and combat. But I gave it an hour, and it's gone from a maybe to definite buy.
The Diablo 2 and WOW overtones will keep me coming back for a long time yet. :)
who stated:
"It's simple, if you liked Diablo 2 and are willing to give a new control scheme a chance, then you could go far worse then this."
My feelings exactly. I admit to the jarring effect of the control scheme which throws you off centre with your habit for using the right thumstick as the camera stick, but I played on and the battles have got epic, the loot very cool and the story has me already interested in a sequel. :)
I suggest anyo...
Yeah it's absolutely amazing the amount of quality titles this year.
I'm particularly interested in Dead Space and Resi 5. But I'm playing Fallout 2 at the moment (unbelievable game!) and it's putting me into that Pipboy mood for Fallout 3 - they better not stuff it! :o
I seriously doubt most have played it yet, despite the claims to contrary by some.
The first 15mins is a bit WTF, but then you get over trying to move the camera with the right thumbstick and start getting used to the surprisingly deep, combo based combat. When the inventory and skill trees open up it really started growing on me.
There's no doubt the game looks only marginally better than a launch title, and there is some occasionally odd textures and character mode...
I thought Call of Duty 4 and Gears of War were pretty damn good for less than a ten hour story! ;p
Yeah bubbles for the "both" idea edhe!
Personally I'd love to have a easily accessible NetFlix on my 360, would be awesome. :)
Lol, much better than that MyGamerpad rumour! ;p
And what about those back compatible motion controls:
"Targeting the casual market is all well and good, but getting the sizable hardcore market on side by offering a fresh experience with current AAA titles like Halo 3, Gears of War, Bioshock and the EA Sports range, would be a stroke of genius."
I don't know whether that's genius or sheer madness! lol
You're right, but that's the entire point of the article. Their praising games on other platforms and admitting their own wishful thinking. The only difference between them and you is that they're infinitely more mature and civil in their ability to praise games on other platforms
Before calling them "losers" did you actually read the remarkably mature praise they gave Uncharted despite in being on another system?
Just in case you didn't here's what XboxOZ...
Yeah I think that's one half, two of those toilet-roll things click together for the bigger one you're talking about. But they can be split into two for two players or for a single player to have dual analog type controls.
Either way the thing looks bloody ordinary, although being cylindrical might help it look different to the Wii. Whether it sells? Who knows...
I'm more worried about the delay in those videos. He's playing Star Wars and every time he swings it takes a full second to respond and replicate on screen!
EDIT:
So it is... seems like I've got the accuracy of those toilet-roll motion controls! lol :)
I hope we get to see more of LA Noire, maybe that's Sony's secret game?
Haha. Bubbles well put! :)
If only everyone could afford that...
EDIT: @below
Yeah I'm one of the lucky ones with all three. And great picks for the PS3, particularly Uncharted. Try and grab the under loved RPG Folklore and the awesome Warkhawk if you managed to shave a bit more off that budget! lol :)
I think it's their third (I submitted them! lol).
But I don't get what the fuss is about. At least they write at length to explain their lists and show a lot of respect for other platforms.
Much better than that Game Daily and Ripten bulletpoint crap we get every week! lol
Who made the wholly ironic statement:
"This is a waste of bandwidth"
No kidding. With a comment like that how could it possibly contribute anything?
@Sticky
I'm guessing you're staff at the site by that comment, so check out my lower comment, cause I'm a big fan and I think you deserve the kudos for trying something a little different that despite some people's concerns is quite clearly tongue in cheek! HECK - it's even in the frea...
Why? It's essentially an article that's taking the gentle mickey out of itself and acknowledging how great games are on other platforms.
I think that's pretty cool actually, and more N4G users could learn from these guys. Check out their reviews and they gave MGS4 their highest ever score of 9.9/10, despite being a 360 site!
Big kudos from me. :)
Lucky bastards were right!
One down, Nine to go... ;)
