The best part of the announcement.
And if you're a Netflix subscriber you get free Live Gold.

Awesome. :)
That was the best part of the announcement. Completely free. And if you're a Netflix subscriber you get free Live Gold.

Around the 45 second mark. :)
Much grittier than the cutesy Halo FPS series.
Click the alternative source for a Media Player stream. :)
Well said! Bubbles
And the hardcore have got nothing to worry about. All those titles from Bungie, Halo, Gears, and Alan Wake will get their runs over the week when the casuals aren't watching a live global broadcast.
It was a very specific conference from MS that basically said in those parts you mentioned.
1) We haven't forgot our hardcore roots, but there'll be more to come later.
2) We're casual, socially integrated, love movies/music and are f...
Bubbles for the chief.
Well put, the bulk of the conference was focused on expanding the casual and networking capabilities of the 360 and Live.
The hardcore titles will be announced for the hardcore at individual developer conferences, when the casuals aren't watching and might be potentially scared off! lol
The Gears 2 reception is tonight for starters. :)
I kind of agree. Just look at the Bungie website with its countdown and it looks like MS is planning a couple of announcements immediately after the Sony/Ninty conferences.

"A multiplatform game costs more and requires more time than an exclusive title."
True. But that is far outweighed by the potential revenues of a multiplatform release. Square just got another 20 million consoles to sell their game to!
Sony may own a share of Square but it's a relatively minor 8.6% http://www.square-enix.com/...
Square simply saw ways to make more money for the majority of its shareholders and went ahead and did so.
As much as FFXIII may hurt Sony... Microsoft's very Apple like Dashboard along with Netflix and the bonus social networking may well be a far bigger blow to Apple.
Err I think you forgot the megaton FFXIII announcement! lol
But yeah what an hour! I personally thought the casual titles and Avatar/GUI/networking/Netflix stuff was much more impressive than I'd ever imagined.
Oh and OT: Clever idea for installs.
Yes I can confirm. They explicity announced it as an "exclusive agreement".
What I thought was better is you don't have to pay for Netflix membership (It's part of Live Gold). And you can watch it online with up to 7 mates in a party. Nice! :)
Well put Silellak and Wood. Bubbles.
Personally I thought the Avatars appear to straddle the line between Miis and Home straight down the middle.
You know with those exclusive you mentioned and what I thought looks like a far better, socially integrated Live (Avatars, NetFlix, Community Games, Primetime, etc), I was thinking gee MS have had a pretty good showing...
But that Final Fantasy reveal may have just single handedly won the show! I suspected it, but I still can't get my jaw off the ground.
Man that's better than Goldeneye in my books but I swear Shane Kim said both Banjo prequels were coming to XBLA.
Wow! Rare is really back with a vengeance!
Mate everythings copied from something else, what's important is that they innovate and improve on original ideas.
Avatars improves on Miis (Netflix, party system, community games, party rooms)
Lips improves on Singstar (I can plug in my own music and it'll work!)
Your in the movies improves on Eye Toy (because it's essentially a vehicle for fan made films and YouTube like machinima, that's disguised as mini games)
Yeah way better than I expected. They're pushing the social networking much more than even I expected. The dashboard looks much better although I bet Apple might be a tad miffed.
I didn't expect thi to look good, but I gotta admit it looks a hell of a lot better than expected.
The ability to plug in an ipod and sing to you're own music is gold! :)
Yeah awesome announcenment for XBLA, that and Banjo 1&2! :)
I think 300 comments is way too conservative this is going to go way higher! N4G prepare for meltdown...
Versus is exclusive.
But FFXIII has been confirmed by Square as a multiplatform single launch date release in Europe and US. It will debut in Japanese in Japan as a PS3 exclusive though.
