Yeah I agree.
Sony's was the best "presentation" and Ms could learn from it. But really after Resistance and the awesome LBP, it was just an exercise in style over substance. CG trailers, sizzle videos, PR and lots of lights and sound.
At least MS, whilst not to my hardcore tastes, was full of substance and showed everything they announced as hands on (except for FFXIII). The difference between the Avatars/Dashboard presentation and Sony's Home was night an...

"Microsoft's SVP of Interactive Entertainment, Don Mattrick, has confirmed Microsoft will be making announcements on Halo Wars and Bungie's Halo project sometime in the future, but that Halo Wars, Halo Chronicles and Bungie's Halo project are entirely separate titles!"
Exactly. It'd effectively be Sony promoting their own negative press!
Silly article.
Thanks mate I heard later in the same video the quote at 0:47, but not at 0:35

Thanks for clarifying. :)
Still I think it's a major coup as it's an "exclusive patnership" and offers me unlimited films for $9/month direct to my TV with no PC/network issues to worry about ($5/month for 2 movies/month)
Not on the scale of Halo 3 obviously, but I think i...
Halo 3 did do extraordinary. But it was all ONLINE. Forge, Co-op, Matchmaking, Film & Photo Sharing, Custom Games and Community Integration are all industry benchmarks from which upcoming titles such as Resistance 2 and Gears of War 2 will be greatly enhanced as a result.
The OFFLINE was like the ordinary entree to an otherwise fantastic five course meal. I tend to ignore it. :)
I posted this other article that says that Bungie's Halo is most likely a "gritty" squad based shooter in Kenya, and that Superintendent will most likely be the rebirth of Oni!
http://www.n4g.com/events_e...
Oni's manga style would look awesome on HD and could do with a resurrection, particularly as they never got to take it online! :)
If they do something other than an FPS I'll be taking notice. :)
I posted another article that went into what this Bungie Halo and Superintendent actually are.

Seems like they're going a hell of a lot more realistic and have got the lead designer from GRAW in charge of the new Halo...
I won't diss it yet, because if there's any chance of a GRAW meets Full Spectrum Warrior game in the Halo Universe (they suggest ...
I'm guessing this is why they pulled the announcements. They want to focus on their other titles this year before going all Halo Mountain Dew next year!
If it's anything like that awesome Halo Wars trailer or that film by Neil Bloomkamp, I'll be up for it!
It's almost like their doing an EA! lol
There's the kiddy games and now apparently the more hardcore visceral experiences as well.
That's like three Halo titles for next year, plus whatever else Bunige's working on!
They sure are milking the golden goose, but if they're as good as the Mario, MGS, & Doom franchises I'll be buying it! :)
Yeah agreed mate.
MS essentially launched a new console for the casual and family markets and then demonstrated it hands on and confirmed a Fall release!
Sony got up and made a bunch of more CG promises and when it came to Home, Jack Tretton got up and in endless-promises-form said "Your patience will be more than rewarded. "
It better be! I've been waiting for more than 3yrs and MS just unveiled theirs for the first time and yet it will be l...
As I said earlier journalists have missed the thrust of the agreement.
As stated at the Microsoft Press Conference by Microsoft's SVP Don Mattrick:
"So if you're an Xbox Live subscriber you can enjoy the Netflix library at NO additional cost"

The reasons behind which are explained by this pre E3 article
If we're talking about the actual conference meat, Microsoft whilst not to every hardcore gamers taste, brought a mass of chang...
Thankyou for reminding me. Bubbles to you also!
Can't wait to revisit Mass Effect and Lost Odyssey post install. :)
Completely agree mate. The Res & LBP demos was my high point and then it just deteriorated into PR and CG promises. :(
It was the best presentation and the other companies could learn a thing or two about giving the press c@cktails before hand and cracking some jokes to warm them up. The whole set up was very impressive with the lighting and HD screens.
But my problem was as soon as they finished the awesome demo of Resistance and then the amazing business presentation where "LBP kills Powerpoint", it just became mostly a whole lot of PR talk, flashy CG trailers and music...
Sony really went after the hardcore this year.
But the highlight for me was LBP. That was the single best business presentation I've seen. And Res 2 looked pretty good to.
But other than that it was mostly CG trailers. :(
Thought the R&C, GTR, GoW3 & MAG announcements were nice. But again it's all freakin PR promises and CG!
I want hands on gameplay goddammit, not flashy trailers and music! :(
At least I'm gettin new vid...
You criticize people for getting excited over FFXIII for not having a release date?
And yet in the next sentence you list a bunch of titles that excited you, but are also without release dates!
That's some wack logic. lol
