Judging by the very anemic launch game list (one good game, the rest shovelware and not even much of that), it does seem very rushed. Which is really hard to believe, considering that the system was announced in 2015. In two years they were basically unable to deliver more than a single big first party title, pretty sad. And 3rd party developers are not doing much either at this point, or you would have seen more titles from them at launch as well.

There are also reports that the joycon batteries drain at different rates, probably because games tend to use one much more heavily than the other in terms of buttons, bumpers, and sticks. One journalist who got a Switch for review has mentioned this in his comments. Having separate batteries in each joycon is inevitably going to lead to uneven drain, unfortunately.

Maximum is 64gb.

@ DarXyde - "You don't install the games if you buy physical."

So there won't be any digital-only games released for the Switch (like there are for all recent consoles, including the Wii U)? No DLC for any games (Zelda will have it)? No patches for any games (like Mario Kart and Splatoon for the Wii U)?

There certainly will be digital-only Switch games. There will also be DLC and patches.

Think about what you're...

See, most of what you wrote is nothing more than fanboy damage control for Nintendo's poor products. The Switch isn't "about as strong as a xbox one" in the least. It has:

- 4gb RAM (XB1 has 8gb)
- Much weaker CPU and GPU than XB1
- Measly internal storage of 32gb (the base XB1 has 500gb)
- No external HDD support for the Switch (both of the other consoles support external HDDs)
- Undocked, the Switch won't even c...

Too bad the Virtual Console games are so poorly emulated. Colors are dull and washed out, aspect ratios can't be adjusted, and even the sound quality isn't very good. Nintendo did a very poor job emulating these older classic games on the VC.

For proof, look no further than Nintendo's own NES Classic micro console, which has excellent emulation with bright rich colors and great sound. Here's a video comparing the NES Classic Edition with the Virtual Console...

So where will the game patches be installed for those physical games? Or the DLC?

Right, those will have to be installed on the internal storage or the SD card. Nothing is going to be installed on the physical game cartridge, even game saves have to be stored elsewhere.

And please don't try to claim that all Nintendo games are released as complete packages with no patches or DLC, we all know that is false.

Wow that's pretty sad. Nintendo cut corners on the Wii U internal storage (only 32gb, with about 25gb usable), and they've done the exact same thing with the Switch. 25gb of usable space is really a joke for a console released in 2017. And what's worse, many physical Switch games are going to require downloaded patches that can only be stored on either internal memory or an SD card, not on the cartridge itself. This includes Zelda, which will require at least 3gb if space.

An embargo on console specs? If Nintendo doesn't want people to know the actual specs of their gaming hardware, it seems like they are embarrassed about inadequate specs and features. How about actually putting some effort and resources into the actual design, instead of trying to hide the truth?

Yep, they're a very greedy company when it comes to delivering solid gaming hardware for the money. So I know they'll stubbornly keep the price as high as possible, just like they did with the Wii U.

Great news! Now all they need to do is to lower the price of the Switch and its accessories, all of which are massively overpriced.

Or alternatively you could just be a moron.

3295d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

It's the pitiful internal storage that's the problem, but you can carry on with your damage control. No matter how badly Nintendo gimps its products, you'll always be there to make excuses.

3295d ago 4 agree4 disagreeView comment

Just like the Wii U before it, Nintendo cut corners like crazy on the Switch. They really could have easily included 128gb or 256gb internally, but they don't care about offering competitive gaming products for the money.

Because its garbage?

3295d ago 11 agree3 disagreeView comment

The problem with the original hardware, is that it isn't designed to work well with modern flat screen TVs (doesn't have HDMI out and games look very blurry and don't have any output options). Retro consoles are better optimized to give sharper output and better sound.

You do realize that Amazon will automatically adjust any older preorders to the lowest offered price after those preorders were placed? The guide isn't out yet, so older preorders will be adjusted as needed.

"The CPU and GPU in the PS4 and Xbox and Pro and Scorpio is also "old tech""

Both of those systems came out in 2012, but still have better CPU and GPU than Switch

"It has way more ram then the PS3 did and this is a hybrid."

Seriously? The PS3 came out in 2006, over 10 years ago! You're bragging about the Switch having more RAM than a 10+ year old system?

Sure:

* Weak CPU and GPU (much older tech)
* Only 4gb RAM (not enough to compete)
* Only 720p screen (should have been 1080p at least)
* Weak battery (3-5 hrs)
* Almost no 3rd party support
* Terrible launch lineup (one good game, and a few other shovelware titles)
* No pack-in game
* Competing against consoles that are much more powerful, cheaper, and include bundled games
* No ethernet port on ...
