Not surprising, Active Blizzard and Valve are the most profitable companies in this industry. Most Publishers concetrating on Consoles are struggling to post profits. Active Blizzard get 70% of their revenue from the PC market. They certainly cant ignore it.
Its weird as a PC user to see such petty things as a Demo which should be free now used to promote stuff as xbox gold or psn+
Dam thats sad. Downloading it for free on steam. Why limit demos to gold members only?
Gaming PC = 150usd gpu on top of your current PC. which is lot cheaper then getting a console then paying extra per game.
I usually buy all my games from steam and Direct to drive. The deals can be awesome. A comparion to those networks would be great. Specially considering Microsoft even charges to go online.
Mac usually requires much powerful hardware to get decent performance, since the games are not optimied to be used with Mac. Most games dont even run on a Mac since Mac doesnt have directx.
@chad
Playing on a mac explains the negative attitude toward PC.
Mac gaming =/= Pc gaming
Not only are PC versions of games higher res they they run at stable 60fps, while console counter parts are sub 30fps and yea you dont need a 2000usd machine to play the game at decent fps and full 1080p. a 500usd machine will do just that.
Saying PC doesnt have games is plain ignorant. Every platform has its exclusives. Console ...
@major jack
care to tell us the spec of the PC you spent 2grand on? unless its really epic and a huge overkill you probably got ripped really badly.
I could design ya a 550usd PC that will run 90% of current gen games in 1080p.
@above
you do realise it does more then the PS3 or the 360.
"Both of which I don't have to upgrade"
you dont have to upgrade the PC either

@sikbeta
While I agree graphics don't make a game. However given the opportunity to play a game 720p or 1080 I would always choose the latter. Given a choice between motion control and 1080p on most games I'd surely chose 1080p since motion control is yet to prove itself for the hardcore.
Blizzard has the MMO market by the balls. Wonder how this will do in comparison.
While I don't support the troll. 8800gtx was a great card, I still have it in one of my rigs. Still runs games maxxed out.
8800gtx now would cost ya 70usd if ya can find one, its no longer in production. 100usd gpus of today will blow it in terms of performance.
But yea 8800gtx far outperforms any console. It was costly but that was when the PS3 cost 600usd too.
hell yea.. 45usd on steam. such prices are PC only ;-)
sucks to pay 60usd per game.
Considering they have to cover a loss of 5billion usd which was made by the gaming division. This is nothing.
@darkride
check the FX market. Yen is currently at its strongest vs the dollar or the euro. Just means more of a hard time for Jap companies.
96 games on steam and counting.
that again means buying extra hardware. PC doesnt need that.
here is a budget build
http://www.tomshardware.com...
its for 550usd it can run mw2 @1080p around 80-90fps
crysis in high settings 1080p runs in 35-40fps.
1. Games library that will put any platform to shame. This includes all the classics, current gen games, roms from nes, snes, n64, ps1,ps2, wii and the arcade and much much more.
2. Games cheaper by 10-20usd at launch thats huge when you buy 20 games a year(20 * 15usd= 300usd saved a year thats enough to buy a high end gpu).
3. Discounts on DD services are insane(bought bioshock 2 for 14usd, metro 2033 for 24usd)
4. a 4yr old gpu now ou...

@infectedDK
Its more like:
1.PC
2.PS1
3.N64
1.PC
2.PS2
3.Xbox
4.Gamecube
1.PC
2.Wii
3.Xbox 360
4.PS3
Notice a constant? yea its the PC. Its always been around while consoles come and go. PS3 will be dead soon while PC will still be ticking.
