@roguedragon1 - I infer from your comment that software updates for console hardware are more important than anything else. I'm not sure why people think numerous system updates are a good thing. Personally, I think they're annoying.
@Ben at Skewed and Reviewed - learn how to write dude.
@AstroCyborg Well the author also talks about "holiday sales" so he's obviously not just talking about "in terms of games."
Quote from the article: "Coming off Microsoft’s stellar Fall 2015 releases coupled with holiday sales, Sony has to make a lot of ground." Lol - The PS4 is leading in 2015 Fall and
holiday hardware and software sales in all markets. Where is this 'ground' the author speaks of?
Until Dawn is a great game for its genre - adventure/survival horror. Until Dawn is the adventure point and click game evolved. Cinematic with multiple endings, and imo, unique for what it's trying to do. It impressed me as much as any other game I played this year but, The Witcher 3, because of its scope and amount of content gets the nod for GOTY for me.
@HumanAfterAll#22 Lol - how can you say it wasn't down at all when others have reported that it was? Have you heard from every XBL user?
I liked The Order for its story and pretty graphics but found the cover shooter/shooting gallery game play to be archaic and somewhat frustrating. That said, unlike many, I thought the QTEs were appropriate and didn't detract from the game play. My personal review score - 7/10.
It's going to be 4 - 5 years before we see a new game from Kojima so, we're probably not going to see his work on the PS4 or the X1. It's a little too early, imo, to get excited about whatever he decides to do.
Lol: MS, grab Kojima while you still can; Nintendo, grab Kojima while you still can; Activision, grab Kojima while you still can; Square Enix, grab Kojima while you still can; EA, grab Kojima while you still can; Ubisoft, grab Kojima while you still can etc., etc. Kojima is like a free agent sports star, if he decides not to be independent, he'll go with the company that gives him the best deal and the creative freedom to achieve his vision.
@TheBreezy - Yes, before Nov NPD was released Vgcharts had the X1 outselling the PS4 by more than 70k in the USA. They have since adjusted their Nov numbers to reflect NPD's data. Vgcharts has been under tracking the PS4 for most of the year and had to make a big adjustment upwards when Sony announced it had sold 30.2 million PS4's as of Nov 22. Since MS rarely reports hardware sales for the X1, it's impossible to tell if they're under tracking, over tracking or somewhat acc...
@Liveevirdtset #57 WTF? Epic but, incomprehensible ramble.
@xHeavYx - They guesstimated a comfortable NPD win for Xbox one this November - a prime example of why VGcharts numbers should not be taken seriously.
@Picnic - where did you get such accurate sales numbers for the PS4 and Xbox One? Let me make a wild guess. VGCHARTZ. Lol
Such a biased BS article. The author gives Xbox credit for remasters (Gears and Rare Replay), multiplat indies (Ori) and timed cross generation exclusives like ROTTR but, doesn't do the same for PS4 with the likes of the Uncharted Collection and GOW 3 remasters, the Rocket League (timed console exclusive) and Everyone's Gone to The Rapture indies. It also fails to mention games like The Order and cross generation games like Tales of Zestaria, Disgaea 5 and MlB the show.
@ SwiftArsonist Until as recently as last holiday season the focus of MS was to beat Sony. Check out some of Phil Spencer's thoughts on the console war in 2014 - he definitely wanted to win. MS and Spencer have since realized that their console doesn't have a chance of outselling the PS4 World wide and little chance of outselling it in the X1's best markets, the USA and the UK - hence the recent PR focus on Xbox live accounts etc. 3840d ago 4 agree1 disagreeView comment
Sounds preemptive damage control from the MS PR dept to me. Sony decided to compete with them this holiday season in the USA and there will no big win for Nov and Dec Npds for the X1 like there was last year.
@rainslacker You're correct, my comment is purely speculative.
@Malacath - I still have quite a few PS2 games so, disc play bc would be nice. But yes, I'd much rather be able to play my PS3 games on my PS4.
If this new feature allows you to play PS2 discs on the PS4, then I believe it's possible the announcement of BC for the X1 influenced Sony to make it possible rather than charge us to play games we already own. However, we still don't know what Sony is going to do so, this IGN article is just speculation.
There are similarities between TR and Uncharted. Both franchises are in the action/adventure/tps/platformi ng genre. However, when it comes to story telling and tone, TR and Uncharted are quite different. I prefer the lighter tone of the Uncharted franchise over the more serious tone of the rebooted TR franchise however; I like both franchises and look forward to playing ROTTR on PS4 next year. Bottom line, imo, ROTTR is not the Xbox version of Uncharted - it just doesn't have the same v...
Neither Xbox nor PS4 had a plethora of first party exclusives in 2015. I question the author's understanding of the English language.
