From the article: "Well, now we have a (sot of) new contender entering the VR War." (Sot of) lol. PSVR is, imo, not a 'sot' of contender unless its trying to appeal to all the alcoholics out there. WTF! How did this 'sot of' article get approved. This site - geeklyng.net + - should 'sot' off.
For a game like Halo 5, $1.5 mill over several months isn't really all that impressive.
MS is responsible for the controversy about Quantum Break's simultaneous release on the X1 and PC/windows 10. MS has been pretty much touting QB as an X1 exclusive and a reason to buy the X1 for a couple of years so, it's quite understandable that some people are pissed because they feel they've been misled. I'm not saying MS deliberately misled people but, again, it's understandable that some people think that they did. Imo, it would've been better PR had MS released...
@Rookie - in your opinion. Bluepoint did a great job with Uncharted and Gravity Rush. The lack of MP in the Uncharted collection is, in my opinion, no big deal since Uncharted games have always primarily been single player focused games. The same can't be said about Gears and Halo because MP was an important part of the experience they provided. TLOU did include MP and the remaster was widely praised and included the DLC.
No, it's the other way around. MS is burning bridges by not being transparent about their plans and their business deals for games. If MS had announced that QB would be coming to both the X1 and the PC from the get go and not waited until a few weeks before the game released, there would be no controversy here. MS has a history of misleading gamers (TROTTR exclusivity fiasco for example.) MS has proven that it can't be trusted.
@Azzanation - The difference between MS and Sony here is that Sony made it clear from the get go at E3 that FF7, SF5 and Shenmue were not PS4 exclusives whereas; MS seems to have made it a habit to lead people to believe that games like QB would only be available on the X1 and then at the last possible moment reveal that no, oh by the way, we've decided to release the game on PC as well. Similarly, MS's PR dept went out of their way to deceive gamers into thinking that ROTTR would be...
We have no idea how accurate Mad Catz's or EA's estimates of PS4 and XB1 total console sales are. The only factual data we have to work with is that, per Sony, the PS4 had sold through 35.9 million units as of Jan 3 2016. That said, people really shouldn't use these estimates to guess how many PS4's and XB1's have been sold rather; they should wait until Sony and MS provide them with factual data. I'm pretty sure Sony will continue to provide us with regular sales upd...
Experts agree that the Daily Star is a tabloid rag. Journalism doesn't get much better than this.
EA is basically only estimating Xbox One sales here. We know that Sony sold 35.9 million PS4s by Jan. 3rd 2016. I think it's fair to say that January WW PS4 sales will probably end up being about 1 million so, that would mean about 100k PS4s sold WW between Jan 1st and Jan 3rd. That means about 35.8 million PS4s sold by Dec. 31st 2015 give or take 10k. That said, we really have no good way to calculate a good estimate for WW Xbox One sales because MS refuses to provide us or EA or anyon...
Wow! I'm thinking that this developer may be looking for a job soon for talking out of turn. Pretty sure Naughty Dog wouldn't approve of this tweet. That said, I'm sure the game will release on time and be great.
From Software games are somewhat popular but still can't compete with the sales of AAA games like COD, Uncharted, TLOU, Metal Gear, Halo etc that do offer difficulty levels. It would seem to me that game developers would like to see their games sell as many units as possible. This means making a game that is accessible to as many people as possible.
Difficulty levels allow those of you who get their elite macho/masochistic kicks from beating a game on its hardest level ...
@animalia - I can't tell you how many Xbox Ones have been sold WW since launch because MS refuses to release that data. I wonder why that is? I can only assume that MS is not particularly enthusiastic about how the Xbox One is performing against its main competitor, the PS4. That said, best estimates for WW Xbox One sales are between 18-19 million. Also, NA may be the biggest video game market on the planet but the EU is a close second. The PS4 absolutely dominates the EU market and the R...
@lastking95 - I used VGchartz LTD sales numbers for the PS4 (I know VGchartz is not reliable but we're commenting on one of its articles so I feel justified in using them in this case.) As of 12/26 the PS4 WW LTD was 35,232,178 and the USA LTD was 12,359,071 which means that the USA accounts for about 35% of the PS4s in the world. Don't have numbers for Canada and Mexico, but I think it would be fair to say that NA accounts for about 40% of PS4 console sales. So, yes the rest of the ...
@animalia - Do you have any evidence to back up your statement that Xbox 1 has a better attach rate for games than the PS4? BTW, your views about the rest of the world are at best provincial but hey, America rules right?
My favorite Zelda games by far are Twilight Princess and Windwaker. Imo, the simplified motion controls of TP worked much better than the more complex motion controls of Skyward Sword and I enjoyed TP's story and characters much more than those of Skyward Sword.
A sad and or dark ending would be a departure in tone from the rest of the series and, imo, it would be a mistake. Hopefully, Drake's story will end on a high note.
Unlike some, I'm not paranoid about gaming journalists and find reviews to be a useful research tool. I don't pre-order games and I don't buy games before I've done my research. That research includes reading multiple reviews and getting feed back on a game from friends. If the feed back more or less matches most of the reviews, I feel pretty confident that the $30 - $60 I spend on a game will be worth it. Imo, people usually get stuck with a game they don't like because...
@Rookie - What? No congrats for the X360 gamers that bought the game?
@Volkama - I believe MS is including 360 gamers as well as X1 gamers when they speak about Xbox live users. So the intall base is probably just as large if not larger than it was in the 360 era.
It would be nice if XBL was free but complaining about paying $5.00/month for a service that also gives you 'free' games is just whining. If you can't afford $5.00/month, then you need to get a new hobby.
