I disagree when you say it is more convenient to use the 3G on the Vita than using tethering; while tethering will force you to carry your phone (or a mobile wi-fi device), I believe the Vita will see it as a normal wi-fi network, which should allow you to play online, something you can't do on the 3G Vita (when on 3G). Also, since these days many smartphones have 4G and the 4G network is getting bigger, you're also going to get much better speeds from tethering.

How about not making a CoD-clone that happens to copy everything people don't like about CoD but not what people like about CoD? MoH was an okay game, had they not tried to make it a CoD-lite, it could have been much better.

A small tip to EA, if you're going to copy CoD, don't make it worse than CoD.

If the gameplay is similar to WoW, no reason to switch to a new MMO, since most people don't care about lore in MMOs; WoW offers more content than the average MMO, the servers are stable and finding people is easy since WoW has such a huge active community; something that can be troublesome in other MMOs (which usually is corrected by merging servers). WoW also runs on a large spectrum of machines and still looks decent enough to be playable.

Also, most MMOs will have a c...

Yes, it is ruining online gaming. In games like League of Legends/DotA/etc, missing one player on a team is likely to influence the whole game. In MMOs, it can be quite annoying when someone in a party simply leaves at some point during an instance; which often leads to the party disbanding (well, for PUGs anyway) if a replacement is not found in a short delay. It is also an annoyance in shooters that do not have a drop-in/drop-out feature. I don't really care about it in 1v1 games (like ...

I loved the co-op in RE5, probably still one of the best co-op experience this generation (haven't tried playing with the AI though; so I can't judge that).

Nice, Kane and Lynch games have their issues, but they're still pretty fun couch co-op games.

I'm not worried nor skeptical; the again, I was never a fan of the old school pre-RE4 games, so I'm not exactly a reference. To me, RE5 was a fantastic local- co-op game; and by the looks of it, RE6 looks even better.

A game's success is determined by the profits generated (developers and publishers are business; their primary goal is to make profits). If Modern Warfare 3 failed, it is safe to say every single game released last year failed.

Well, it sucks if it is indeed being hacked. However, we must all remember that in the past, many reports of XBL being hacked were actually stories about phishing. Well, let's just hope this ends soon; and best of luck to those who were affected.

Hmmm, I believe Saints Row had the GPS (and it worked pretty nicely too) before GTA did. An otherwise very nice list, although I would have added the Rainbow Six map(s) (from previous RS games), as it was nice to plan everything from the map and hope it works out nicely.

Who knows, if Rockstar pulls a GTAIV; I'd rather play a lower resolution game that actually works than playing it on PC. I just hope they do it right this time.

But I still don't think we can call it one of the most influential games at the moment. This doesn't mean it's a bad game, nor does it mean it won't influence future games; but few, if any games on the market today, show any influence from Heavy Rain (or L.A. Noire for that matter).

On the list, they include Call of Duty 4 as an influential game; just look at Homefront, and plenty of other games, for the most part FPS, but even some non-FPS games clearly have ...

I've never used a Nyko product, as most of the time, it seems their products are useless of poorly designed. Anyway, I've never felt the need to buy what they make; just look at the 3 examples shown in the link, one of them makes the PSP (and presumably the Vita once they release a similar accessory for it) non-portable. The second is okay, I guess, although a screen protector similar to the invisishield does the same while looking much better. As for the last one, why would I use a 5...

I hope they don't shut down. THQ is easily my favorite publisher right now; Saints Row, Red Faction, WarHammer (both Space Marines and the Dawn of War series) and even WWE '12, are pretty much my most played game this year. I certainly hope they find an investor, as the closure of THQ would, in my opinion, be a bad thing for gamers, as it would remove one of the biggest publisher in the world; and less competition is never a good thing.

I don't agree with Heavy Rain and L.A. Noire; while I enjoyed both games (well, mostly Heavy Rain, as L.A. Noire had a number of issues), I don't think we can call them "influential", at least not until some other developers make games that have been influenced by these two games. As of today, Heavy Rain is still prety much unique, its gameplay and its way of telling a story is still pretty much unique, as even today, most games come with shallow stories that provide little ...

Denying the fact that Rainbow Six Vegas was dumbed down compared to the original games? Health regen, cover, nearly invincible AI team mates; nope, not dumbed down at all.

Last time I checked, Alan Wake got blasted for being subHD, same with Halos, many criticised GTA4 on the PS3 for being subHD, and plenty of other games that have been released on both the PS3 and the 360 this generation and were running at a subHD resolution on "HD consoles"; despite tthe fact that the games looked fine.

Since you names GTA4, it ran natively at 720p on the X360 and slightly lower on the PS3, and anyone who has seen both versions of the game will agr...

I wouldn't say it has a better or worse lineup than the 3DS (its main competitor), but it's most likely the best launch line-up I've ever seen. Well, definately better than the PS3, the 3DS, the Wii or the 360 anyway. However, the 3DS already has a few great games out, and the first half of 2012 seems even better; with plenty of titles announced with a 2012 release date, which means the 3DS will likely have a very strong year all around.

The Vita has quite a few g...

I don't know about it being outdated, but I sure hope this doesn't become a standard. In my opinion, a sub-720p game has no place on the PS3/360, and on a handheld, all games should use the native resolution. I just hope this is the exception, not the standard; as it would be disappointing to have such a nice creen, and to have it used in such a poor manner.

Notch, and the people working on Minecraft can decide what they do with their product, as they own it. Kotick is the CEO of Activision, he doesn't "own" Activision and CoD, he manages it. The shareholders own the company, and they're not all millionaires who can afford to throw their money away. Kotick's job is to defend their investment.
