But, isn't x64 technically x86-64? I would assume that what the author meant was that Sony could go for a more traditional architecture; which would likely mean that the PS4 and the nextbox will be pretty similar and multiplatform games should be easier to develop.
As for the Vita controlling the Ps4, sounds pretty cool, although I'm a bit skeptical, considering the Vita was once supposed to allow for remote play of Ps3 games, and we've yet to have access to this...
@killerhog
I'm pretty sure the knife in Counter-Strike did not kill with one hit, neither did the Scout. And many games have recoil.
While I liked MAG and Unit 13, I suspect sales for their games were rather low, mostly as a first party developer.
Some big releases on PC cost 59.99, games like Skyrim, Kingdoms of Amalur and CoD; in the end it's all about how much the consumer is willing to pay for the product, and I believe most Blizzard fans are willing to pay 59.99$ for Diablo 3. And quite frankly, I believe it is worth it, as from what I've seen and read, the game offers a polished experience and enough content to last for a little while. And I'd rather pay 60$ for a great game than 50$ for a game like the Darkness 2, wh...
Multi display allows you to get a big screen, while keeping a high pixel density. It can also be quite useful in non gaming applications. Screen bezels do annoy me, so I don't use it, but I can see why some would.
Well, while this seems like a harsh review, and future reviews will likely be more positive; it's still pretty much what I expected from Slant Six. I have no idea why anyone would give them a franchise like Resident Evil and expect them to create a wonderful AAA experience after what they've done with SOCOM.
He's also one of those at Sony who pushed for inFamous, LittleBigPlanet and Uncharted. But yeah, let's just remember him as the guy who canned a Getaway game. Oh, and while we're at it, let's all remember how awful Gangs of London was on the PSP (getaway spin-off) and how this franchise has never come close to GTA in terms of gameplay, sales and quality.
To be fair, Call of Duty games have a 2 years develoment cycle. As for WoW's graphics, the game came out in 2004, and it does look much better than it did back then. But uppung the graphics too much would likely alienate a sizeable portion of WoW players since many players I know have PCs that can run WoW on low-medium only. And quite franly, WoW has no real competition, most MMOs that have been released in the last couple of years either lacked content (as in they relied too much on grin...
You won't fund the next big MMO or AAA title from a startup studio without publishers. Can fans fund a small game? Yes, absolutely. Could have fans funded GTA4 and it's massive 100 million dollars budget? I highly doubt it.
Is the Zone of the enders collection also coming to the Vita?
I'm still waiting for my Valkyria Chronicles 3 though...
Why? Counter-Strike is all about competitive multiplayer, it doesn't need a single player campaign; if Valve wants to create a single player campaign, I'd say they should start with Half Life 3.
Re-using the engine used in Reach doesn't mean they won't update it; the latest Command and Conquer games (that have been released so far) are still running on the old W3D engine that was used for Emperor :Battle for Dune, yet they still look on par with pretty much any other RTS game. While Call of Duty is not the best looking game, it still doesn't look anything like Quake III. We should actually expect most developers who have their own engine to re-use them next-gen, as it redu...
To be fair, I believe Call of Duty can finance itself. And since it has long been rumored that Blizzard is working on another MMO, it will likely land when WoW becomes irrelevant, and will likely grab a huge market share, giving activision a few more years of MMO domination. Also something people seem to forget is just how Activision has managed to create a huge money making IP with Spyro by targeting children. Not only that, but with D3 and Starcraft 2 HotS coming pretty soon, as well as a p...
My phone has 4G and tethering is available, no use for the 3G version for me.
Gladius, Brute Force (yeah, I actually liked that game) and Deathrow would be good candidates. I strongly believe the world needs more Deathrow.
I can why the PS3 version would have more than the X360's, but not why it would have more than the PC version. I assume most PC gamers would be willing to either get the game on a blu-ray, multiple DVDs (which is quite common on PC since there are no royalties to pay per DVD used unlike on the 360) or simply by putting it on Steam or a similar digital store.
One question, since gamestop canada is also habing a promotion where they bump the trade-in value of any 8$ game to 25$ when purchasing a console, can someone bring 12 games and get the vita for free, or is it limited to 100$?
Well, Mario Kart on DS had online, so did the one on the Wii and I believe the same applies to the one on the 3DS. The only Mario Kart that did not have online (as fas as I remember) but could have had online was the one on the Gamecube.
"Ea still releases good games that can't be said about activision" I assume this is nothing more than your personal opinion and not meant to be how most people see them; otherwise, StarCraft 2 and Diablo 3 would like to have a word with you. And while I'm not a huge fan of CoD, there's a reason why it seels so much, and no, it's not 100% about hype and marketing.
