Hey, I'll admit it. One of the reasons I bought a PS3 was because I thought it would have the most advanced and progressive technology out of all the consoles available. That, and the Blu-Ray capability as well. Part of the reason I play games is to see the progression and advancement of graphical visualization, which is why I don't own a Wii.
Every time a new HD trailer comes out, some website presses Print Screen a couple times and proclaims "new HD screens released." Case in point, this and MW2.
Don't be an idiot. This isn't about any favoritism for PS3 exclusives. It's about me choosing and committing to a particular (military) online shooter that I can latch on to and play for a long, long time to come. It's thus come down to between MW2 and MAG this year. COD4 wasn't that game for me just because it was too limited in scope and depth; I played it a lot for a while but eventually dropped it and haven't touched it in the past half-year. I have major questions about whether MW2 will ...
It looks okay. But all of a sudden, MAG doesn't look as subpar graphically as we all initially thought (especially considering the differential in players supported). I've been wondering if MW2 will detract from some of the luster of MAG when they both come out this year at around the same time, but it doesn't look like it will be the case.
Mind you, I'm not complaining about the graphics at all, but just stating the obvious that it doesn't appear to be world-beating or groundbre...
The projected "2014 commercial release" (and by "commercial release," they probably mean a debut in the ultra high-end market starting out; the technology will be FAR too expensive to fit within the price range of videogame console hardware and media) would still put it at probably a good 2-3 years out of reach of the projected launch of the Xbox 720. And we already know that console specs and hardware configurations need to be nailed down at least a year before launch, ma...
I don't think the lack of respawning enemies is necessarily gonna make the game easier. Just more free-form and realistic. Far Cry 1 for instance didn't have respawning enemies--just enemy encampments filled with a set number of mercs patroling around. And that game was the hardest FPS I've played in the last couple years.
I'm getting sick and tired of gutless semi-casuals in this generation of gamers that whine when any game gives them any iota of a challenge. Everyone now compl...
Looks like they're going to break their promise of "We'll finish the PS3 version before STARTING work on the 360 version." Well, if they haven't already.
Hey Captain Kneejerk, how do you explain the DATE then?
Is it just me, or does this game do a better job of recreating that 2d Street Fighter/Capcom look in 3D than SFIV does? Ryu looks much cooler and more like his usual classic self in this video.
Notice that that dubious Twitter account (named "GameFork") hasn't made a single worthwhile update with real information for several days now... he's looking more and more and more fake as time goes on. Ever since the teaser image of Kojima's next project came up unexpectedly, he's been extremely cryptic and tight-lipped. Looks like he's purposely waiting until the 18th when Kojima spills the beans so that he won't write any contradictory information that would oust him as a fake.
I guess it's really dependent on each individual game or developer then. How competent the English dubbing for a movie or game really depends on the amount of budget and effort put into the translated voicework, as well as the caliber of talent of those voice actors. Still, in almost every situation, the dubbed English voicework in a game is going to sound subpar when judged by the standards of Hollywood--even in the case of the extremely high-budget MGS4, the voicework sounded really cheesy ...
Will Peggle have mouse support? I remember playing the 360 version of Peggle, and it was just ridiculously hard to control with the analog stick--primarily due to the fact that the PC version has the mouse cursor to help you guide the ball exactly where you want it to go. This made the 360 version ridiculously hard/impossible compared to the PC version.
You're completely missing the point. It's not about being a "Japanophile" or obsessed with Japanese culture. It's about the preservation of the original artists' vision and production, for how the game or film was originally meant to be experienced. Would you watch movies like The Orphanage, House of Flying Daggers, or Letters of Iwo Jima with craptacular/awkward English dubbing, or would you (like any serious moviegoer) rather watch the movie in its original language? A movie ALWAY...
You know, I'm really not against a strong and forceful military response by this country to any major threats posed against it. But I'm going to draw the line when it comes to discussing the use of a weapon that could POTENTIALLY TRIGGER THE END OF THE WORLD ITSELF, to deal with a problem that an Anti-Virus definitions update could fix.
You'd have to be completely naive to think that a system of 100% pure capitalism isn't going to lead to everyone getting effed up the ass (by the formation self-serving, domineering corporations), just like a system of 100% pure communism is likely going to eff everyone up the ass, through eventual apathy.
Everything exists on a spectrum, even as it relates to China. The truth is neither America or any other civilized nation functions or could function on an entirely capitalistic...
Shouldn't have tipped us off with the "There's gonna be a twist at the end."
Why can't it be true that "Last Remnant, Infinite Discovery, Project Sylpheed suck, and we don't want it..." as well as "Squaresoft's favoritism for the 360 is becoming overwhelming?" Why can't both those statements be true at the same time, without you accusing PS3 fans of "not making up their minds" or contradicting themselves?
I fully agree that there are way too many war shooters out on the market today, but I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for that one exceptional game that I could definitively call my online FPS of choice--the one online FPS that I can really sink my teeth into for the long haul. COD4 was too limited to be that game for me, and KZ2 had too little in the way of weapon variety and customization to be that for me. MAG on the other hand looks like it's gonna be an extremely promising and de...
I thought there were only gonna be 3 DLC packs? Just how many of these are they expected to come out with?
Well, personally speaking, I still haven't even played GTA IV yet, which should tell you just exactly how much I give a sh** about this DLC business.
