You're naively and completely discounting the fact that Sony could drop the price on the PS3 again, and/or introduce another hardware revision, and easily be back on top again. Everything happens in ebbs and flows, and people like you just currently have short term memory and are caught up in the moment.

And even if the PS3 doesn't pass the 360 in terms of total install base, it's still not a huge loss considering that the 360 launched a full year earlier than the...

TheBalloMan, I think you were confused when you wrote this blog. Consoles are referring to home videogame systems such as Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii, etc...

The PC is NOT a "console." The PC is a PC.

Therefore, when Gabe Newell said that Portal 2 on the PS3 will be the best CONSOLE version, he meant it will be better than the Xbox 360 version, but NOT better than the PC version.

It really pisses me off that some PS3 games like MAG and Uncharted force you to use the L1/R1 buttons and not the L2/R2 triggers. I so much prefer using the triggers, especially now that I installed the "Real Triggers" attachments on my controller. Using the L1/R1 buttons for shooters just doesn't feel natural or satisfying to me, and puts my fingers in an awkward position.

At least COD4 and MW2 let me change the shoulder controls to my liking.

First of all, the console wars are technically over and the Wii has already won if it's based on console unit sales alone. I think a bigger, much more important determinate in a console's degree of success is in its software sales (albeit, the 360 might still win in this regard in the long run), considering that the 360's hardware numbers will be so inflated by people replacing their RROD broken Xboxes multiple times -- and now w/ existing 360 owners trading in their systems for t...

Nice little bump for the Xbox because of the introduction of the new "Slim" model, but it's not that impressive of a jump. Considering that a huge portion of the jump in America-region sales is likely due to either existing 360 owners trading their old models in (Gamestop having an offer for people to trade in their old 360 for the Slim), and/or stores getting rid of that old 360 stock w/ temporary $50 price cuts.

In all honesty, I don't see how a glossier v...

Google "Rob Enderle," writer of this article, and you'll find another hilarious piece of wisdom by this "veteran tech analyst" entitled, "HD-DVD wins." I'm not joking.

"HD-DVD wins" indeed.

And why does the title of the news report state "Enslaved is as beautiful as Uncharted 2" when the writer clearly said "the animations are as beautiful as Uncharted 2's?"

Obviously Heavy Rain is a PC exclusive, as you can tell from the game being listed only for PC; it's unlikely that it's just a typo in that they meant to type in PS3 instead of PC, no chance of that being the case at all.

And yes, by PC-exclusive, it means they're completely discontinuing production of the PS3 version of this game.

Whatever happened to that one game WarDevil, anyway, which was supposed to be a big PS3 exclusive. It was teased by PSXtreme, or maybe PSU, to be revealed in full force a long time ago, and again not that long ago.

There were rumors that it was just a scam, but lotsa users around here swore up and down that that wasn't the case and that it's real.

For those of you drawing comparisons to Alan Wake in calling everyone hypocrites, please note that that's a little bit different of a situation. Red Dead Redemption is a multiplatform game that you simply wouldn't expect to fully take advantage of the PS3's power (or 360's power, for that matter), whereas Alan Wake is one of the 360's biggest exclusives of the year, with development focused for that one specific platform 100%.

Another difference is Alan Wa...

The difference is Alan Wake is one of the biggest 360 exclusives of the year, not a multiplatform game that you of course wouldn't expect to take advantage of each console's strengths.

Not to mention Alan Wake is almost SD-resolution at 540p. 1152x640 is not nearly as drastic the drop in resolution that Alan Wake is.

5727d ago 2 agree6 disagreeView comment

And how many news stories has Computervideogames.com done about how Alan Wake's resolution is 540p, which is nearly SD resolution (480p)? NONE!

See, this is what PS3 fans mean when they speak of what they see as a general bias against the PS3 in many portions of the videogame media. CVG sees it fit to make a big hoopla and feign shock/surprise when Red Dead Redemption is sub-HD on the PS3, even though we already all pretty much expected this considering GTA IV used the sa...

Some of the reasons this idiot cites for not liking the PS3 is just fallacious and pure misinformation; they sound more like his fanboy excuses/justifications for why he would rather support his system of choice, the 360. They also indicate to me that he has never owned a PS3 or at least hasn't used one in a very, very long time.

For example, slow download speeds on PSN? I've downloaded huge multi-gig demos, games, and files from PSN with my decent DSL internet without any proble...

The PS3 is outselling the 360 everywhere except in the US. For whatever reason--people being dumb, being fooled by the deceptively small pricetag for the gimped Arcade system, or Microsoft's marketing being too strong in the US--PS3 just isn't getting the attention it deserves in the States.

That it's an AMAZING system. :)

5769d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Priciest console in history might be the 360, considering you have to pay annual online service fees, and buy a separate hard-drive add-on and wi-fi adapter.

At this point in time, it is simply MUCH cheaper to own a PS3 than a 360 overall, all fees and costs considered. That is an undeniable FACT.

Why does it matter if some game from 2006 doesn't have trophies? The fact of the matter is, 100% of newly-released games (starting from back in 2008) have trophy support and that's good enough. It's not like I'm f***ing weeping and mounrful that I can't go back and play Resistance 1 all over again just to get all the trophies for it.

This is for the dummies who argue that physical media is dead and that digital distribution has already come to replace it (see "Blu-ray haters").

The 360 has only "consistently matched the PS3" in terms of multiplatform games--and that is only because the vast majority of multiplatform games are lead-developed on the 360 and ported (sometimes poorly) to the PS3, or because the PS3 version receives less attention than is optimal in a multiplatform development environment. When the reverse is true, and you see a game that first began development on the PS3 (i.e., lead-developed), you see what happens (re: FFXIII).

You people need to realize...

THESIXTHAXIS is NOT A PS3 FANBOY SITE. They are a MULTIPLATFORM site, and covers Xbox 360 as well; they only "borrowed" the title "sixth axis" to name their stupid little website.

I've always felt that this website has a biased, secret agenda against the PS3, masquerading as an unbiased website (or even pretending to be slightly favoring PS3 with their title). They gave PS3-exclusive games like inFamous a 70%, MAG a 7...
