@Gollum: Its level design and structure may still be more open-ended than 99% of shooters nowadays, that is absolutely true... however, it's still undeniably a downgrade from Crysis 1, which renders invalid the argument that the gameplay is somehow so "revolutionary." Objectively, it wouldn't even be considered a modest upgrade to the original that came out 4 years ago.
My comparisons to COD and Halo are based primarily on a number of various factors, which ...
I don't play MMOs, so I do not know of the references of which you speak. However, let me put it this way: I would not be very happy if the developers of the sequel to the legendary Deus Ex were to take that legendary, acclaimed game and turn it into a mixture of Uncharted and Rainbow Six Vegas, losing the heart and core gameplay of the original classic in the process.
Wait a second, some Deus Ex fans are whispering something in my ear... They're already doing that?! ...
Are people who work at Crytek signing up for this site and giving everyone disagrees or something?
If by "revolutionary," he means cutting down the open-world sandboxes of the original Crysis 1 on PC and turning it into another linear, arcadey FPS mixture between COD and Halo, then yeah, it's the Che Guevara of videogames.
Funny how you call Killzone 3 a blurry mess when it uses one of the best-quality AA techniques in console history, runs at full 720p, and has extremely sharp textures on nearly every surface.
Crysis 2, on the other hand, runs at sub-HD res on both consoles, has average-to-mediocre texture detail up-close, and overuses all of its motion blur, depth of field, bloom, and post-processing filters (KZ3 is more understated in this regard). Furthermore there are extreme frame drops (...
Um, someone forgot to turn on Full-Range RGB for the PS3 screenshot. Yeah, such a fair comparison.
Morons.
Manuals are a waste of paper anyway. I rarely even peak into one anymore.
Just have a copy of the manual in the game's menus and/or some informative in-game tutorials, and that's all we really need.
It might be the best looking FPS on consoles... if you ignore the fact that it runs at an average of 15-20 fps in some scenes.
"Amazing tech demo is amazing."
Oh great. Now surgeons will be reattaching feet on people backwards. Thanks a lot, Kinect.

Right. Because games like Uncharted 2, Killzone 3, and GOW3 are just so greyed-out and foggy. Terrible image quality in all of those games.
Don't pin the blame on PS3 hardware just because some 3rd-party developers fail to fully exploit the hardware to its potential, because the PS3 is clearly capable of much more than you (want to) think it is. Don't let your biases against the PS3 cloud your judgment.
Not to mention that in this particular case, the...
You think the Xbox version looks better than the PC version?
I'd have to question the validity of your opinion. Either that, or how good your eyesight is.
The 360 version is a LOT DARKER--its gamma and color levels look way off compared to the PC and PS3 versions. This is probably due to the fact that the user who took these screens didn't setup his 360's video output settings correctly, resulting in picture that's too dark. To some people, such as yourself, it may seem more dramatic or pleasing, but the same effect can be reproduced on the PC or PS3 by simply turning down the brightness and turning up the contrast on your TV/monito...
Funny how all the PS3 screenshots look much closer to the PC-version screens in terms of brightness and color balance, as well as effects. The 360 version's gamma is just totally out-of-whack compared to the other versions--likely due to the individual user's 360 video settings being setup improperly--which might serve to make it look more "dramatic" or "pleasing" to some people. Also note that the background depth of field effect is present in both the PS3 and PC ...
Blackthorne in 1994 (Blizzard game for 32x, PC, SNES, Genesis) had a pop-out-and-shoot cover system.
How can you not buy a game when Hugh Jackman on AIDS tells you to?
@paintsville: You mean like the way the textures of Oblivion and Fallout were compressed to s*** on the 360? Or how Dragon Age 2 has far superior AA on the PS3? Or how Vanquish ran worse on the 360? How about the fact that PS3 version of ME2 has superior character textures and lighting? Final Fantasy XIII which ran at 576p on the 360 (and STILL had to be divided up onto 3 discs)? Lest we forget, the developers were so cramped for space on the 360's inferior DVD format, that they had to sp...
@DaTruth: I'm guessing he's one of those loyal Xbox fans who OBVIOUSLY gets oh-so-much playtime out of his "amazing" Kinect. Lolololololol...
If he even has a Kinect, I guarantee you it's collecting dust, and he hasn't touched it in months. I guarantee you.
@paintsville: You mean all those millions of units sitting in the closets of homes everywhere because no one uses it after realizing they just wasted $150 on a worthless piece of junk? IMPRESSIVE! I sure hope Microsoft is proud of themselves... because everyone who bought a Kinect sure as hell isn't! Can you say "mass buyer's remorse?"
Reading comprehension, sir fanboy, sir. Reading comprehension.
Wasn't this guy one of the most famous and well-known hackers out there? Now after this whole Sony scandal, he's gone from famous to infamous.
Geohot, you just got INFAMOUS'ed.
