Find me one, single, solitary Eurogamer article where they point out how Microsoft fuddles with the numbers in some "odd" way, or puts PR spin/damage control on something.
Just one. And post the link in a response here.
@The Meerkat: Certain forums, or most forums? Not that I would know personally, since I don't even visit videogame forums anymore.
Insofar as 360 having cross-game chat, you definitely got me there. Your ability to do voice communications across different games with 5 or 6 personal friends at a time is most definitely the exact equivalent to posting on a message board or commenting on a news site where there are hundreds or thousands of active members and posters.

More specifically, PS3 seemingly has the largest HARDCORE (i.e., loyal) fanbase, a fanbase that cares enough to declare their fan(boy) status on the interwebs and forums.
Xbox 360 might have a larger "fanbase" when you count casuals and semi-casuals, most of whom aren't as hardcore and passionate about their system.
This is all just my subjective conjecture, of course. I don't have hard data or statistics to back these impressions up.
What's odd is that a site named "Eurogamer" is seemingly so preoccupied with American sales figures... at least when it happens to favor the Xbox 360 over the PS3.
What's also odd is that Eurogamer felt the need to point out the EXTREMELY OBVIOUS fact that a corporation put "spin" into its PR announcements. I guess they must think that their entire readership is comprised of naive children who didn't already realize that companies like to put P...
Even if you were to double the sales to account for Digital Downloads (which is being generous), the sales still don't come close to matching the figures we typically see on consoles. Note: I'm not saying EVERY PC game sells like crap, I'm saying the vast majority of them do.
I've owned a PS3 since 2007, and have had no trouble paying for games and accruing a healthy library of PS3 titles. For one thing, I never pay the full $60 for a retail game, and I also frequent the Cheapassgamer forums and Slickdeals and know the best places to look on bargain prices for games.
A few weeks ago, I bought Singularity, Brutal Legend, Wolfenstein, and InFamous for less than $10/ea shipped. I bought Call of Duty Black Ops on launch day for essentially $30 (co...
PC gamers already resist buying most games, Ubisoft or not. Have you seen the sales figures? Most PC software sales are in the sh**ter.
The things is, all these hackers (*cough*, Goehotz) claim to be doing all these things for the good of the industry and the public, and society, and freedom of expression and all that BS... but really, the only consequence to come out of all this hackery is that legitimate game-buyers like myself get screwed up the ass because console manufacturers are forced to implement inconvenient DRM systems to counteract piracy.
And I don't blame the companies for implementing DRM, ...
Great blog entry.
Exactly. I was like, what the f*** is this stupid website talking about? Red Dead Revolver was #1, Red Dead Redemption was the sequel. It's like these fools haven't played a game prior to 2005.
Every single article I read from CVG makes me hate them more and more. They're like the IGN of the UK.
As someone who never played a Mass Effect title before, the ME2 demo felt more like a shooter w/ some RPG elements rather than an RPG. Which is disappointing, since I was kinda hoping for a spiritual successor to KOTOR from Bioware. Some people have told me that ME1 is more of an RPG than ME2 is; hopefully ME3 will be more of an RPG as well.
Still, it the demo was definitely a lot of fun, and the story seemed excellently executed, so ME2 is definitely a first-day purchase for...
I don't need sites to "sing the praises" of the PS3 version. I don't need sites to SAY anything, or to make claims with their opinions of what is better. I MUCH prefer it when sites simply post raw 720p screenshots, so that I can compare the screens MYSELF with MY OWN EYES and judge for myself which version looks better.
Just post plenty of raw, high-quality 720p screenshots, and PLENTY of them to show a variety of different gameplay scenes, and SHUT UP. Lik...
You do realize that Digital Foundry has different people and contributors working for them, don't you? Some of these contributors aren't even verifiably industry or technical experts; some of them are simply forum posters that they picked off from the Beyond3D and Eurogamer forums. I don't claim that they are one and the same, or that they are ALL biased. I claim that some of their writers exhibit evidence of bias, particularly in cases of PS3/360 platform comparisons.

Personally, I felt Killzone 2 was a more impressive technical showcase than Uncharted 2 (more physics and AI and particle systems... more complex lighting system). Although Uncharted 2 was arguably more polished, and pushed higher polygonal detail.
KZ3 and UC3 will both undoubtedly be stunning showcases of the PS3's capabilities.
Sigh... I'd love to scream bias in this comparison, but it's becoming old hat, and some people will call me a conspiracy theorist or something. Bottom line is, I've never liked Digital Foundry and they've always struck me as seeming somewhat biased against the PS3 in some of the comparisons that they do. At the very least, they are "anti-sensationalistic`` in the sense that they seem to have an agenda to counter some of the possibly overly-optimistic or sensationalistic B...
Xbox fanboys and Lens of Truth = OWNED. But for the same of accuracy and honestness, the author of that thread did not say that the PS3 version runs at a higher average framerate; he said that the PS3 version tears a bit more but appears to run smoother because v-sync is turned off more frequently.

Look at the huge difference in specular/indirect lighting on Sherpard's suit in this screen comparison:

@MrChow666, what are you talking about? I've seen numerous video and screenshot comparisons, and that latter set of screenshots is without a doubt a fair representation of the 360 version.
It's a known fact that Bioware improved the way that characters are lit and the specular lighting on characters for the PS3 version. That's why Jacob looks so dark and flat in the shadows in the 360 version; just watch the IGN comparison video and you'll see it's the 100...
I'm sure there are MMO fans out there who will think the $15/mo fee is worth it; if not for this game, then for MMOs in general. But me personally, I don't play MMOs just because I think they'd be a big waste of my time, or become an unhealthy habit.
Let me put it this way: I don't want to get into something that's both a big drain on my time, AND I have to pay a steep monthly fee to have my time drained.
Also, you can clearly tell that the PS3 has some extra lighting effects and better character lighting in the screenshot with the robots, and on the arm of Miranda where she is pointing the gun (the cloth looks more leathery because of the better specular lighting).
This blog is complete fail for not having any mention whatsoever of Deus Ex 3.
