Some fanboys will cry foul and call you a conspiracy theorist. But I don't think it's THAT outlandish or infeasible to think that Microsoft's dealings with Activision had SOME sort of subtle (or not-so subtle) influence on the development and platform-specific focus and resource-dedication of the game.
For example, Activision encouraging Treyarch to focus more energy and dedication to the 360 version, or even going as far as to force Treyarch to have a bigger 360-...
Treyarch needs to get off their lazy butts and fix this game PROPER on the PS3 (as well as the PC)! I don't care how much Micro$oft paid you to ignore the PS3 version, lol.
j/k (I hope)
You know, for a patch that supposedly made the game "UNPLAYABLE!!!!111" I personally haven't had that many problems playing quite a few games right after the patch came out.
After the 1.04 patch came out, I played for a few hours straight, and was able to level up 10 times and prestige. I did notice, however, a lot more random disconnects from lobbies; this might have been due to the instability on the hosts' ends and their disconnection leading to my discon...
The fact that they list "there's a controller" as a "negative" is by far the biggest joke of the entire s*** excuse of an article. Yes, there is still a controller; Sony INTENDED it to be like that. You know, so you can do all sorts of advanced and nuanced things that you wouldn't otherwise be able to do?
Sounds like the author completely bought into the $500 million dollar Microsoft hype campaign that hammered "You ARE the controller" in...
Exactly. The PS Move has far more "capability" than the Kinect.
For example, you can do all sorts of things besides waving your arms around in the air like a lunatic.
EDIT: Oh wait, you can control and rewind Netflix videos with your hand also. And control SOME limited parts of the 360 dashboard. Because allowing you to control ALL of the 360 dashboard is asking too much.
All with questionable responsiveness and precision, and noti...
If you have half a brain, go for Kinect.
If you have a WHOLE brain, go for PS Move.
Keep them from writing idiotic Washington Post articles also.
When Microsoft spends HALF OF A BILLION dollars on marketing and hype for this gimmicky, useless piece of crap, would it even be considered a "victory" for it to sell decently, let alone outsell the PS Move? The PS Move released to much less marketing hype and budget, so you kind of expect it to not do as well.
So Microsoft basically paid the public to buy Kinect, and a couple million people bought into it. Big effing deal; now let's see Kinect completely tank a...
To be perfectly honest, nobody really knows how big of a role she actually had in the development of Assassin's Creed. Her resume and portfolio of titles worked on prior to Assassin's Creed was very, very weak as well, so that's also not a good sign.
Oh shoot, this just reminded me to google image "Jade Raymond comic" and have a good laugh again.
Good times.
No surprise Computer & Videogames UK only gave this an 8/10. Those boys are 360 fanboy central.
The ping times (lag) was definitely improved by this patch.
Now they need to get to work optimizing the graphics so that there's less framerate drops during intense gameplay moments.
Have to agree with kancerkid; why is a boycott or public backlash necessary? This is capitalism--if Gamestop gives you a crap deal, then take your business some place else, like eBay, Amazon, or Craigslist.
I've "boycotted" Gamestop for several years now, in the fact that I just naturally have never bought anything from them in recent memory. Not because I'm doing it on PURPOSE, but because their prices suck, and I always find a better deal some other place....
You know what's funny is that a perk to disable aim-assist would be pretty sweet and cool.
He's laughing because the sales numbers are disappointing, and he'd rather they not be released.
Their most important, viable region. PLUS, we don't know how much the sales will die down after all the dumb marketing hype and "Oprah factor" subsides. There's a chance Kinect will completely fade off into obscurity and be completely forgotten by the general public in early 2011.
Like I said, it's no surprise for a product to do half-way decent launch numbers, in the company's biggest market/region, when you're spending half-a-billion in marketi...
We all know the United States is Xbox country. The 360 has a bigger install base in NA, and they spent $500 million to advertise this "revolution."
I'm sorry for not being blown away by the initial launch numbers of Kinect. By 2011, I bet most housewives and casuals will have completely forgotten about Kinect and just throw the device into the closet. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised is that happens.
However, Kinect is just for casuals and housewives, and it could just be a fad that fades out by the end of the year. The PS Move has long-term hardcore gamer appeal, and has better word-of-mouth appeal than Kinect (thus far).
Decent sales, but you expect MUCH MORE when you're devoting $500 million in advertising budget and you're launching something Microsoft is calling a REVOLUTION, let alone simple a new platform/console.
Not to mention that sales could tail off drastically, and the device has a risk of fading off into complete obscurity or social/consumer apathy, if bad word of mouth gets through about either how laggy and unresponsivve the device is, how you need a big apartment/room,...
Now this is the way to do an objective, unbiased screenshot comparison: pure 720p, raw screencaps. Unlike that garbage website Lens of Truth that crops and/or down-sizes their screens to little postcards, and then selectively zooms in and emphasizes some areas to force us to think that one version is superior to the other in a certain way. Not to mention they don't specify their methodology, tools, or settings used to capture their screenshots.
For all we know, the Lens o...
