The last GTA game I played was Vice City. I haven't even played GTA IV because it looks kinda boring and mindless to me.
I'm a few hours into L.A. Noire, and I'm loving it so far. I love the mystery solving, detective work, and interrogation aspects of the game; it really makes you feel like you're a cop trying to solve cases, and like any good movie, you don't know how each case will end or what plot twists might arise. I also love the 50s L.A. atmosphere...

We've already known since LAST WEEK that a FULL SYSTEM REBOOT could take until the end of the month. This is NOT new news.
"Motion-blur skinning" is just Epic's fancy way of saying per-pixel motion blur, which we've already seen in the likes of games as way back as with Condemned 2 and Fear 2, as well as with Crysis 2, Killzone 3, God of War 3, and (I think) Uncharted 2.
Different amounts of blur depending on the speed of motion of individual body parts? Who hasn't already seen that a bunch of times in PS3 games?

Like how Sony said in Q&A #1 on PS Blog over a week ago that they expect some PSN services will be back "within a week?" That was April 27th.
Fine, it doesn't have to be a specific date, but at least give us SOME kind of timeframe.
What the hell does "final stages of internal testing" even mean? It gives us laymen absolutely NO CLUE when exactly PSN services should expect to be restored. It could range anytime from tonight to a week from now.

Still, my point is that this game is just a tad overhyped. I bought it on launch day for my PS3, went through the campaign, and it's a really fun, well-made experience... but not a "triumph" or "GOTY contender" like the media keeps praising it to be. Every single time journalists mention Portal 2, they use the same catchterm of "triumph" in describing it.
Play a real, deep, long game like Borderlands, Mass Effect 2, or Fallout 3, etc. I must've put 100+ hours into Borderlands since PSN went down! You can buy the Borderlands GOTY Edition for ~$20 bucks, and it includes all the DLC packs. Great game, really addictive.
I've put ~250+ hours into ME2, I think. Also a great game, but I'm waiting for Bioware to patch all the potentially catastrophic glitches and bugs that came along with the PS3 port, before I go in for...
I have about 5 multiplatform games ahead of this on my list of games to get this year.

I've been a member of N4G for years, and have read many articles from James Brightman and Industrygamers, and can attest to the fact that they are in fact anti-Sony biased.
Every single, solitary time I read an article by James Brightman, it's something negative about Sony or the PS3.
Of COURSE they're trying to up-sell PSN+. AND THIS ISN'T A BAD THING. The Welcome Back program benefits both the consumer and Sony to some degree, and thus it's a win-win. It's a win for Sony, and it's a win for the consumer.

Most of the characters you mentioned are pretty decent-looking guys. They're not male-models, but they're at least decent; certainly not "ugly" by any stretch of the imagination. Assuming you're a girl, are you saying you wouldn't date someone like "Sev" Sevchenko or Niko Bellic in real life because he was too ugly?
Take off the slightly bizarre, anachronistic warpaint of Kratos, and girls would be all over him in real life.
I love how they recycled the cases from the old Logitech Cordless Action controllers for the PS2. They must've run into a big old stockpile of those things and decided to save a few bucks. Brilliant!
