Screw these close-quarters maps. I didn't buy Battlefield to play cramped, corner-camping, COD-style maps. The sluggish controls don't even facilitate this type of gameplay. If you thought Operation Metro was a frustrating clusterf***, I can only imagine what these new maps will be like.
The only reason I would buy the Close Quarters expansion is for the new weapons. I wouldn't even touch the maps themselves.
We're in agreement here. Blu-ray's extra capacity wasn't really necessary this current generation. However, an 8 GB limit would be absolutely CRIPPLING for the next generation Xbox, when graphical fidelity, texture quality, and production quality presumably will be around 5-10 times greater than current-gen. There's no way a meager 8 GB will be easy to work with for developers of next-generation games.

NO. The world doesn't need politcally-correct language police. There's something called FREE SPEECH. One of the amendments of the constituton. I think you may have heard of it? Or maybe you haven't, considering what you're seemingly espousing by saying "the world needs language police" is a complete demolishing of the First Amendment and the constitution. You know what country has plenty of "language police?" Communist China.

At least gamers are honest and no-bulls*** about their opinions. I shiver to think what the world would be like if it were comprised entirely of holier-than-thou, politically-correct language police, such as special interest groups complaining about porn, racism... or even Rush Limbaugh.
Sorry, but that's a completely dumb statement. Skyrim fitting onto a single DVD is a technical feat, and shows how well-optimized Bethesda's game engine is in terms of data compression and procedurally generated content. However, many other games (Battlefield, Final Fantasy, LA Noire, and presumably the future GTA) are ALREADY having MAJOR difficulties fitting current-gen games onto a single DVD disc. Rockstar has been complaining for several years now that the meager 8 GB DVD of the ...
Games like RAGE, Battlefield 3, and Final Fantasy XIII are already having enough trouble fitting games onto multiple 8 GB DVDs. Can you imagine the nightmare of trying to squeeze entire games into a presumed maximum 8 GB downloadable footprint?
Either this rumor is fake, fakity, fake fake... or MS is committing the biggest mistake since Nintendo went cartridge-only with the N64.

The Cell is STILL a decently powerful processor TO THIS DAY.
If Sony were to go to all the extra trouble and expense to include a Cell chip for purpose of Backwards Compatibility, then they might as well (and undoubtedly would) let developers use it for extra processing power in PS4 games. And if they were to do that, they might as well just include the Cell processor (a beefed up version) as the MAIN processor for the PS4!
In other words, it's either Son...
If this rumor is true, then no backwards compatibility. Which sucks.
However, I trust Sony's judgment and ability to deliver a great console to gamers with the PS4, nonetheless.
If it wasn't like classic DOOM, then it WASN'T DOOM. There's only one, true type of DOOM game, and that's classic DOOM; nothing else. Even DOOM 64 was a pretty awesome DOOM game, with revamped graphics, sound, and atmosphere, but retained the classic hectic DOOM gameplay.
DOOM 3 wasn't a bad game, but it didn't capture the chaotic demon-slaying fun of the DOOM series at all.

I'd rather have Quake 1 and/or Quake 2.

"Had PSN for 2 years and all of my information was compromised."
You do realize there's no proof that your account was actually compromised, right? The infamous PSN shutdown last year was all about the POSSIBILITY that accounts were compromised, but I haven't heard of any people who actually came out and complained about their accounts or credit cards being stolen as a result of that PSN intrusion.
With Xbox Live accounts, there are numerous...
The graphics look excellent for an open-world game, and the character models and facial animations are very well done. However, I would not say this is one of the best looking console games ever. Not even close.
It really is amazing how some corporate executives or financial analysts can become so filthy rich, even when it's glaringly obvious they suck at their job.

@BeardedPriest: Looking at your stats, you seem to play Team Deathmath 90% of the time. No offense, but serious Battlefield players rarely play TDM, they play Conquest. Assault rifles and assault players might be OP in Team Deathmatch, but they're definitely not OP in Conquest. Engineer is probably the most useful class in Conquest; not to mention k/d ratio doesn't really matter in an objective game mode.
So the most overpowered and overused rifle in the game (Famas) actually gets BUFFED, but the most underpowered (M416) gets nerfed?
Makes so much sense!
No one else notices that the level being showcased at the beginning of this video is taken DIRECTLY from a classic level/area in the original Far Cry 1? I'm talking about the area where there are huge, wreched cargo ships on an island coast. This is both nostalgic, AND awesome!
Come on, there's gotta be more people around here that actually played the original Far Cry on PC, right? Right?
Keep in mind, this video is probably the PC version with a 360 controller attached. The E3 2011 demonstration was also done on the PC version (using a 360 controller).
Let's wait and see how good the console versions will look before we get too excited\.
EDIT: Looking at the footage more closely, I notice that the graphics aren't quite as amazing as those shown in the PC version at E3 last year in some ways, such as no motion blur and lower-res shado...
