The lighting and lens flare effects look much improved on the PS3. Especially the shadow filtering and quality.
That's because you're a 360 fanboy, and we already know the game will look like crap on 360.
Whiny nerds are whiny.
I think they should have saved some of that money and kept Bungie instead.
I personally predict that the PS3 is the lead console for the game, and thus probably looks better, more or less, on the PS3 than the 360. They want to show the game off in the best possible light on consoles that they can, and that's why 100% of the console gameplay being shown is the PS3 version. It's pretty rare that the PS3 gets chosen for the development of a multiplatform game as the lead console platform, but all evidence leads to this conclusion.

I don't care how sensationlist the headline is; if a game doesn't have an inverted camera option, I WILL NOT BUY THE GAME. Simple as that. The publisher will not be getting my money.
Pure and simple, I've always been of the mindset that inverted y-axis is the proper way to control games, but now we have all these noob, newcomers to videogames that have flooded the market with their ignorant default camera setting. "Duhhhh, pushing forward on the stick/mouse m...
The atmosphere and polish of Far Cry 1 combined with the open-world, go-anywhere structure of Far Cry 2 would be the ideal combination.
Hopefully the third installment in the series will meet that goal.
The thing is, Far Cry 3 looks like it captures the spirit and feel of the original Far Cry more than Crysis 1 or 2 did.
The gameplay demo of Far Cry 3 really impressed me. It looks like Ubisoft is trying really hard to recapture the whole "stranded on a tropical island full of deadly mercs" feeling of FC1. You know the original awe you felt when you first booted up Far Cry and saw the huge, beautiful vistas, long draw distances, and enemy AI scattered all over the p...
99% of all console games run at 30 fps and 720p or less.
@FasterThanFTL: Get a life, you PS3-hating loser nerdboy.
By your logic, shouldn't Angry Birds be number one on the list? People have probably put way more total man hours playing that game than they have for ME2.
@dkgshiz: Totally agree with you. Although I kinda liked Far Cry 2 (albeit, it was a massive disappointment compared to Far Cry 1).
Here's hoping Far Cry 3 will be freaking amazing.
I bought and beat ME2 this year, to see what all the fuss is about. In all honesty, it's good... but not THAT good. It certainly, absolutely isn't the best game of the generation. Not even close. It's not even the best game of the series.
Fwiw, I don't think Uncharted 2 is deserving of "best game of the generation" either. I've personally always thought the series was overrated (even though I beat and platinumed both UC 1 and 2).

Meh... I think I'll get Far Cry 3 instead.
@Dailynch: I think you meant to say "Exclusives on 360 are dead." Just kidding (sort of).
@Perjoss: I think it's more accurate to say that Microsoft spends a crapload on marketing, especially in the US, because they want to make sure multiplatform games sell better on their console.
The reason Sony has so many exclusive games and developers is because they OWN these companies/IPs. They either started these development studios up from scratch or ...
Lol. I don't even know where to begin with your fanboy idiocy.
1) Most multiplatform games recently have tended to have V-sync on PS3 but no V-sync on 360 (i.e., more torn frames on 360).
2) MLAA isn't "real" AA? What's your definition of AA? Anything that removes the appearance of jaggies as effectively as the PS3's MLAA technique is all that matters; doesn't matter if it's "real" or "fake." 360 will prob...
I'll give Battlefield props for the destructibility, but I still think that there are a few PS3 exclusives that look better and more impressive overall. Killzone 3 and Uncharted 2 just have more shader effects and visual fidelity overall, such as per-pixel motion blur, parallax mapping, high-quality shadow filtering, and much sharper and crisper textures. All these things are missing in BF3 (at least on the PS3 version).
Also, KZ3 has a lot of destructibility as well; jus...
Lol @ "Cry over this tek."
The people who are disappointed by or lambasting the footage of Battlefield 3 on PS3 are either:
a) MW3 fanboys looking to bash BF3
b) PC fanboys looking to bash the console version of BF3
c) Mentally retarded

I've always liked Gamespot's reviews, and now I know why. They're no-bulls*** and are generally accurate in accordance with what other critics think on average. I respect their opinion enough that I don't have any qualms at all about them giving Gears 3 a 9.5.
