Didn't Lost Planet 2 flop?
Anyway, great idea by Capcom, pawning off this franchise to truly crappy Western developer (Spark Unlimited). Sure-fire way to reinvigorate a Japanese IP. They must really be deluded enough to think that everything Western developers touch turns to gold.
WarDevil and Data Fly both struck me as extremely suspect and possibly frauds. Why a company would want to fake a game being in development, I have no idea.
Anyone remember WarDevil, that secretive PS3 exclusive? Lol, it turned out to be a fraud after all. Can't say I didn't tell you so.
Anyway, Dust looks amazing on a visual level. Beautifully animated sprites; it's like a side-scrolling anime.
Yeah, I don't like the small maps in Battlefield 3 at all. DICE seems to think that just because the statistics show Operation Metro as the most played map, that most Battlefield players want smaller maps. I think the biggest reason Metro is so popular is because it's good for stat-whoring and kill-whoring... and it's a nice change of pace from the normal map rotation. But a nice change of pace is completely different from a DLC map pack totally dedicated to small maps.

You didn't address my argument. Perhaps I should specify that VEHICLE unlocks give people a huge advantage in particular. Vehicle unlocks are also rather time consuming and/or hard to attain, so you have to invest a lot of time and effort to get these unlocks. I'm a level ~30 colonel, and even I don't have every unlock for Jets and LAV's yet.
I agree with you that gun unlocks don't matter. Any decent player can get some kills with ANY gun. But vehicle unlo...
The gun and infantry kit unlocks aren't a big deal. However, vehicle unlocks make a MASSIVE difference. If you're driving a tank, a jet, or a heli with zero unlocks, you're almost guaranteed dead meat against someone who has unlocked everything with all his/her vehicles.
You must have not ever played Battlefield 3. Getting kills as a noob is extremely hard, especially in vehicles with no unlocks, and especially in jets with no unlocks. If you're buying these "Shortcut" DLC packs, then yes, you're buying a major competitive advantage over other people who are just starting out with the game and haven't unlocked anything.
I'm speaking as a big fan of BF3. I've already unlocked most things in my kits and vehicles, s...
EA "chasing fads" means nothing to me. I care about whatever company that makes games I enjoy. I've enjoyed several EA games this generation (Battlefield, Mass Effect, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space). I can't even tell you the last Activision game I enjoyed since COD4 back in 2007.
A quick summary of Activision:
-Selling OLD MAPS to gamers as new DLC (MW2's retro maps)
-No dedicated servers for COD every year
-Same crappy ...
What a joke. EA isn't even necessarily the worst gaming company in America. To me, it's a tie between Activision and EA, for multiple reasons (NOT just because they milk COD every year). Seems like gamers are just butthurt over recent problems with EA (ME3 ending and DLC, and the Origin service).
Like some members of the Consumerist said, this result completely trivializes the Worst Company Award, and makes it look like a joke.
Activision is the richest game company in the world, publishing the richest game franchise in the world (COD). Yet it's "too expensive" to include dedicated servers in COD?
COD has the same rehashed engine every year, same or worse gameplay mechanics every year, and the same crappy netcode every year. Still no dedicated servers on consoles to this day.
At least EA makes a few games I really like (Battlefield, Mass Effect, Dead Space). I'll p...
People may hate EA, but they're not the worst FREAKING company in America.
People are just butthurt over the ME3 ending and DLC, so all of a sudden they're the worst company in America now? Idiots just have no perspective whatsoever.
@insomnium2
Yeah, I bought MW2 (2009), and whined a lot about how much it sucked. Then I bought Black Ops (2010), which I enjoyed a lot and thought was the best COD since COD4. Then MW3 (2011) came out and completely sucked azz (borrowed a friend's copy), and I still have not bought it to this day.
To me, MW3 stands tall next to MW2 as some of the worst online MP games I've ever played. The weapon balancing and netcode are atrocious. I still haven'...
Not to be a fanboy or anything, but if Microsoft isn't in there, I don't really see any reason why Sony is even included in the first place. They don't strike me as a particularly terrible company that mistreats its customers.
At least Sony didn't make it past the first round...
Lol, what a great bracket. I predict an epic battle of the bulls*** behemoths between ATT and Walmart.
I've been enacting MW3 blackout days since Battlefield 3 came out.
You know what will kill a videogame series? Changing it beyond all recognition.
Wouldn't the reaction be a little more crazy or elated than just a slapping of hands? Seems a little suspect to me.
I agree, games on PSN are stupidly overpriced. Black Ops is still $39.99? Really? Bulletstorm and SOCOM Confrontation are $29.99? You can get these two for ~$10 bucks in stores.
I'll be buying this JUST for the weapons. No interest in playing the maps at all.
Urban Chaos was far from a crappy game. It just arrived very late in the console lifecycle, and had zero hype behind it. You could still see the talent behind the creators of the game. You could tell Rocksteady had potential for greatness, however raw it was.
On the other hand, I've never seen a glimmer of competence or quality in any of Spark Unlimited's games. The name simply inspires zero confidence in me.
