I hope he is telling the truth, because that makes it much more likely it will come out on the PS3 first.
No deal with MS means no contract ensuring MS a simultaneous release across platforms.
Unfortunately, it is not against the law to lie about stuff like this.
The PS3 version of FF13 will be held back in US and Europe while they port to 360. This is not a benefit for any gamer.
Good thing you ended your entire comment with a period. Otherwise it would have been impossible to read it.
Think about this sentence:
"Available on 360 at launch in North America and Europe"
What does it really say?
The game will be available on the 360.
It does not, however, say anything about a simultaneous launch for PS3 and 360.
Now, imagine if the plan actually is to release it simultaneously for PS3 and 360. Then why didn't MS tout it much more clearly than the above sentence?
Square Enix has said multiple times that they won't start 360 development at least until the japanese PS3 version is released. Then localization for US/Europe will begin. What is unclear is wether they will start porting to 360 at this point or wait until localization is complete.
Whatever happens, FF13 might turn out to be a timed exclusive for PS3 (in US/Europe) since localization is faster and easier than porting.
WoW has already implemented this, so no doubt they will implement it for future games. And you will only need one keyring for all Blizzard games, just as you can now use the same keyring for multiple WoW accounts.
This is the same system online banks use all over the world. 6$ is nothing compared to what the game cost + monthly fee.
I've bought the WoW keyring since I prefer to be 100% safe rather than 99%.
It only takes 5 secs extra to login.
Rumble in a figthing game is something I disable asap anyway. Can't have that controller shaking when you need full control.
From the 1UP review:
"the PS3 version has the technical edge, since it allows you to install to the hard drive for faster loading times"

Those 360-only owners who buy FF13 and like it are certainly gonna buy a PS3 for this game :)
The PS2 is still ~125€ (200$) in Europe.
They might get it, or they might not. It pretty much depends on if and how much money MS is willing to cough up. What some Square Enix representative says at the moment is irrelevant. We all know FF13 was said to be an exclusive too.
Whatever happens, I'm getting it for my PS3. The eventual 360 version is going to be a port, just like with FF13.
This is called using a proxy. Hardly a hack.
Square Enix' credibility is already broken, so it could be anything.
UK is a country(*), Europe is a continent which UK is a part of. There is no "Europe without UK". Why is this so hard to understand for americans? The UK isn't even that big. Areawise I can think of at least 4 bigger countries in Europe.
* Actually it's a union of 4 small countries.
This one game might make me buy a 360 in the future. It all depends on how delayed the PS3 version is gonna be. I'm not buying broken hardware however, so they better fix the RROD issue by then.
"Now if only Lotro offered raids of the same quality as WoW, but that’s another article…"
Which is why I play WoW instead of any other MMORPG.
I want this in Europe :(
Look at the picture in that article you posted. It says "Available at launch in North America and Europe". Did Wada (or anyone else from Square Enix) _actually_ say anything to clarify this meaningless sentence? Cause you know, the words "simultaneous", "PS3" or "360" aren't even in it. None of the articles I have read have quoted anyone stating a simultaneous release for PS3 and 360.
