The reason I sold off my Xbox One recently was because I knew the Coalition was going to find multiple ways to ruin this franchise and this was the last game I was holding out for on the system. The multiplayer beta was a big step back, the single player demos they've shown have more in common with Judgement than the good games in the series and now they are finding a way to dismantle the best part of online, Horde Mode. Nobody wanted Gears of Overwatch. They are the next 343... taking a...
If you like shooters you will love it... if you like RPGs like Fallout 3/Vegas you won't:)
I think No Man's Sky represents a breaking point for the current state of the industry, a frustration with the dishonesty. Much of this generation has felt like broken promises... a lot of hype but with nothing to back it up. I bought and sold my Wii U, bought and sold the Xbox One launch edition, bought and most recently sold the Xbox One S 2TB and now this weekend am selling the PS4 I've had since launch with no intention of replacing with the Neo.
Last generati...
Still going with the NES for my favorite... there was nothing like being a kid in the 80s and playing Super Mario Bros. for the very first time.
By no means a perfect game but a 3.5 out of 10? LOL
Gears of War and Mass Effect were my favorite series of last generation... but truth be told I have absolutely zero interest in GoW4, looks overwhelmingly average (like Judgement). I have a feeling that the Coalition is the next 343... asked to take over a huge franchise but without the imagination or talent to make games of the same caliber.
I hate Call of Duty type games, ALWAYS prefer the more artistic side of games (Transistor is my favorite this generation) and couldn't disagree more that this is because of "Call of Duty trolls" or people upset you can't kill anyone, etc... most people who picked up NMS didn't like it because it was a bad game with a lot of missing or unfinished features promised for a couple years.
Too bad a new engine isn't a part of the gameplay because as much as I do enjoy SOME of their stories I find the actual framework they build their games around is very much broken.
The motion controls are why I didn't own a Wii, I absolutely hated using them every time I tried them out. Same thing happened with the Wii U... although this time I bought the console I sold it because I hated the controller.
I know there are a lot of arguments out there that NMS was simply over-hyped but I don't believe that was the problem... if it had actually been a good game regardless it would not have matter if it actually lived up to the hype. It's not a good game.
I didn't think they could come up with a worse protagonist than Aiden but somehow they were able to pull out all the stops with this terrible looking BLM hipster clown.... too cool for me. I have a feeling this game is going to bomb pretty hard.
There is absolutely no way Scorpio can benefit from anything related to what Sony is doing as Sony themselves are not trying to compete with the Scorpio to begin with. Neo is aiming at the Xbox One S for the next 12 months+ and that is it. The reality is that 6 months after Scorpio does release next year Sony will unveil the PS5 at E3 2018 (for a holiday 2019 release). Suddenly the narrative is about Sony's next console and the Scorpio is nothing more than a premium boutique item at th...
I have no doubt they would like to sell it for a little more but Sony has done a good job and looking at long term vs short term which is why I believe the Neo will launch at $399.
Not that it doesn't look solid, I certainly enjoyed the first game in the reboot series but I just have no interested in picking this game up now and something tells me quite a few PS4 owners are going to wait for a price drop or pass on it all together. Obviously the deal with Microsoft was a huge mistake and is not going to help the after-thought from Square Enix a year later.
It would be nice to have the option to purchase games individually even if just digitally as I am only interested in going back to the first entry in the series. Bioshock 2 was decent for one play-through but Infinite was just not a good game.
My goodness, usually when rumors come out on any console there is some good mixed with some bad... NX has just been one bad thing after another. I don't need something as powerful as Scorpio/Neo but 32GB of storage? My god, what a nightmare. Couple that with all the rumors like another hybrid tablet/controller setup and specs worse than vanilla Xbox One this thing is going to be a train-wreck.
I can't see Nintendo charging for online unless NX is a runaway success and with the controller looking to be an other gimmick I don't think NX is going to do much better than the Wii U if at all.
I couldn't disagree more... this game has the promise of having unlimited things to do and most consumers are going to believe that they haven't even scratched the surface in the first few hours. However, I think what NMS has done is opened more eyes to the issues with pre-ordering. For example, let's say there is ever a NMS 2 - in no way will it come as close to the record sales of this game because nobody is going to trust Hello Games or Sean Murray to be telling the truth.
I am not a big fan of the first game... I tried since I wasn't finding anything to play on Xbox One when I did own the console but the multiplayer only focus (which wasn't amazing to begin with) really killed the game. It was cool to hear they were going with a full campaign this go around but in reality it feels like it was just tacked on and that from what I did play in the beta that the multiplayer is even more average. Unless there is some dramatic change this will be the last g...
+And the mantra that we came up with was this concept of player-first."
It's one thing to say it, it's another thing to do it... I can't even remember a time where EA put players first.
