Would they be fun to have, absolutely, but an Achievement system is in no way a requirement for a console.
Um, that's not really a problem at all, but okay...
I expect that we'll soon be renting games digitally, though I do miss going into a Blockbuster and seeing that huge wall of new games next to the genre section filled with crappy horror B-movies like Piranha 3D.
And there's nothing wrong with wanting improvement from Nintendo. High-five.
Why would you want all three? The Vita does everything the Vita TV does, but on something you can actually take out of your house.
Sorry, man: I cannot agree with that.
The Vita needs support badly right now and by support I mean full-fledged games that aren't just ports (though I will give props to Persona 4: Golden). Vita still needs games.
However, I expect this Remote Play aspect to move some attention the Vita's way. Being able to stream PS4 games to a handheld is something Sony needs to actually market as a feature. If someone saw an ad that said "play PS4 games on the...
Doesn't Sony realize how good a PS4/Vita bundle would be right now?
While it's great that he's doing okay and early in the interview he owns up to his actions, he still makes it appear like he's a victim, like people are hating on him for no reason.
He's not free from responsibility for the PR measures he took, and at points in the interview, it really sounds like he thinks he is.
Agreed. I spend a lot of time on my PS3 using the Youtube app, so I hope Sony rolls it out on PS4 sooner than later.
Other than that, it's looking covered on the video apps. I don't expect any other music apps like Pandora due to Sony's push with Music Unlimited, but it's nice to dream.
The Wii U side has so many checks and a bright blue background. They're trying to clearly show that the Wii U is a more advanced and feature-rich machine.
Dominate? I honestly don't think so, but hopefully this will get the word out on what the Wii U is. We'll see.
With the Wii U being compatible with external drives and the PS4 having an upgradable internal drive, it's become much easier to embrace digital.
I remember when having a 120GB hard drive with your 360 meant you were a real hotshot. My, how times have changed...
There are a lot of problems with your reasoning.
Firstly, Vita memory cards combat the advantage of digital sales. You're paying a lot for a proprietary format that evens out the saved money from sales and free PS+ games. The only way to truly take advantage of Instant Game Collection on Vita is to buy a lot of memory cards and that stacks up monetarily.
Secondly, Nintendo is releasing Wind Waker HD and a lot of other first-party titles digitally weeks be...
The only people who I think would be interested in the Steam Machines are people who are already educated with Valve and PC gaming, but they probably already have powerful enough rigs, so a Steam Machine would be a redundant purchase.
The fact that we're still not seeing a clear use of exclusive features just yet is another issue. Where's the advantage? What does the Steam Box deliver that you can't already find on a console or gaming PC? That will determine how t...
Um...thanks, but I own both a 360 and PS3. I was always in the loop. It's the game that convinced me to pre-order a PS4 as opposed to waiting till next year, not "switch consoles" or "move to Sony over Microsoft."
It would be great to access both 3DS and Wii U Miiverse forums on Wii U, then on 3DS on the go.

A good port is not necessarily an equal port. In the case of Blacklist, it was not equal. It had a lot of technical issues that never got resolved, while the other consoles' issues did.
As for Need for Speed, it may have been an okay game, but it was still a port of an older title that didn't do much to justify a purchase on Wii U. Unless there's something mind-blowingly good in the exclusive features, no one will buy a port of a game tha...
I know it's going to be the beginning of a brand new generation of gaming, but seeing a low frame rate in a 720p/30fps game isn't representing the new tech in the generation very well.
Regardless of what it is, a brand-new AAA IP for Wii U would do wonders for Nintendo. Miyamoto said that he's working on one, but even just a brief teaser would calm the nerves of anxious gamers who've played New Super Mario Bros. to death.
A little risk would help.
The people who want Nintendo to go third-party are the same people who complain about Nintendo rehashing their franchises. They say that Mario is boring and Zelda is the same every time.
So would putting these games on a Sony or Microsoft console magically fix those franchises to these people?
The Trophies in Super Smash Brothers Melee, fundamentally, were like Achievements. You perform a specific feat in-game and you get a displayable reward.
