Rock Band proved that in spades.
Sweet. Been wanting to pick one up for D4.
Keep the load times at bay and I'm game with 720p.
Funny, but just so folks know, this is an IGN user blog.
Have you ever played Smash Bros. multiplayer with random people? I have. They really don't talk. The people who make the most noise in that situation are the crowds at pro Smash tournaments. Fighting games really aren't a genre that demand voice chat, because they require attention and concentration from players at all times. Talking to a friend during a fighting game match seems counterproductive, so that probably explains the lack of voice chat activity in Smash.

They need more than just better visuals to be worthwhile. That's why I like HD re-masters like Wind Waker HD, Last of Us Remastered, or ICO Collection. Wind Waker HD has a ton of new modes and content, Last of Us Remastered has a very noticeable visual upgrade, and ICO Collection fixes the frame rate issues (offering a much better gameplay).
However, there are abuses of this idea, where barely anything is new aside from slightly better graphics. The Splinter Cell Collecti...
They're still going to be developing for PS4. They're multi-platform, not Xbox or PC exclusive. PS4 will still goodies. Don't worry.
Wait, people are on Nintendo's case because of the Youtube stuff, yet simultaneously, I'm hearing Pachter praise them for something else. What is this, the Twilight Zone?
This is a game in a Kojima-made universe. KOJIMA. The livestream screen might not be a confirmation anymore, but I'm not counting this out for a second.
Of course. Fair use is fair use, and Nintendo needs to figure that out pronto. But if content creators want to produce and run their channels like businesses (like MANY channels do these days), they need to act accordingly.
I have no issue with them getting a good cut of the money from their videos. I DO have issue with them trying to coerce viewers to think that they're doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. They're not. Channels are businesses, and as the g...
The problem is that Youtubers are saying "we love Nintendo. It's free advertising! We love making videos about Nintendo because we love Nintendo!" If that was the case, they'd just make the videos for no money.
I think Nintendo is still backwards on this and they need a better offer to Let's Players and Youtube content creators, no question, but I'm not fan of Youtubers pulling that "it's free advertising/we support Nintendo" excuse out...
Reports are coming in that it is, in fact, still working. Though the consistency of the methods (Paypal, credit card, logged in to account, guest account) is sketchy.
To answer your question, though, yes.
I love watching mainstream media talk about games, because they never know what they're talking about. I watch and say "awww, how cute! They think they can video game!"
Buy a Vita, not a PS TV. Some of the best games on the system don't work on PS TV.
Maybe it's more news about A Hat in Time. I'm pretty sure Kirkhope is composing some music for that game?
Yeah, just because a character is unlikable or does bad things doesn't mean they're a bad character. I like complexity in my game characters, which is why The Last of Us' Joel stuck with me.
What a concept, right? :)
Regardless of what you think of Gone Home regarding game design (I personally found it to deliver a huge lack of agency and purpose in its gameplay, but I can see why some would like it), its story felt incredibly insincere.
Perhaps it was the constant barrage of dramatic diary entries or the terrible Kait figure who was solely an avatar for the player (not a real character) or even the ending you could've predicted barely five minutes into the game; maybe it was the fact...
This was a solid article. I think it raised some good points. Here are some I'd add:
Get the person reviewing the game to have experience with the series or genre: I can't tell you how many times I've seen some random goofball who's never played a Platinum Games game say that the game is "too hard." I want the opinion to come from someone educated in character action, not someone raised on real-time strategy. A fan or veteran can give me the best, mo...
I don't really like when actors play themselves, like those 50 Cent games or the terrible Kurt Cobain appearance in Guitar Hero. I don't mind big actors playing voice acting game roles, though.
