Yeah, I'm pretty stunned too. Poison's awesome.
Kotaku wants to reap the physical swag and press appearance benefits of being game journalists, but the second their integrity as the press comes under fire and they're told to abide by some kind of code or journalistic rules, they're suddenly "bloggers." They want all of the privilege of journalism without any of the actual accountability of reporting accurately for the benefit of the gaming community. They just want clicks and money.
Until they can quit be...
Devs don't like them. The gaming community doesn't like them. That's all the info that you need to answer this question.
Kinda surprised this just now got noticed. I noticed this weeks ago and was wondering.
"The final complication when it comes to measuring video game length is that, like most things with this medium, it’s entirely subjective."
What's the point of bringing this up again, then? I personally like shorter games (I'm a fan of Platinum Games), but I totally understand if someone feels ripped-off after paying $15 for a game that lasts 1 hour. I honestly would too.
The second that you charge money for a game, you have to take length i...
Ultimately, the story was predictable. You could really see what had happened to Sam the instant you entered the house and heard the answering machine. I hadn't heard anything about the game going in aside from widespread fan/critic controversy, and even then I could see the direction of where this story was going.
This was made even worse as you don't participate in this story, and I don't even mean mechanically. I mean the character of Kate. I absolutely despise...
This was probably funded by Game Theory.
"But please don't try and act as if they are the same."
AGAIN, people are saying this about Quiet: "The reasoning behind her being like that is ridiculous. She doesn't need to be like that. Kojima's reason is dumb."
Unless you think that Raiden needed to be flipping with his crotch in the air for 30 minutes, the argument that Quiet needed to be crouched on all fours doesn't work. If you said to me that Kojima is just being ...
"A naked man doing cartwheels offends you? Does it make men look bad? I don't think you find it offensive, thus I just believe you are trying to compare it to Quiet. Which is just disagree with."
I don't find either offensive and that's the point. Neither are. They have a right to exist, but the reasons that I'm hearing about Quiet is this: "there was no good reason she needs to be like that." There was also no reason for Raiden to be like ...
You don't need to be butt naked and doing somersaults in a military base to be tortured. Nor do you need to have your crotch directly in the air covered only by one's hands. Don't be silly.
Unless you can guarantee to me that everything in Raiden's scene was absolutely required in the story because of "torture", that argument simply doesn't work. You can't move the goalposts like that.
Let's talk about that Raiden scene in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.
You know...the one where he's naked and somersaults acrobatically through a military base. Doesn't make any sense to have him do that there, does it?
Double standards, mate. Until you can explain that, you have no right to complain about this.
"But not all games are fun, or have to be."
I'm sorry, but I'd like to be enjoying myself when playing a game. I don't play games to be miserable at myself or others for. If you're not getting a positive stimulus from a game, why continue playing instead of doing something else? This applies for any medium.
This reminds me so much of the Earthworm Jim cartoon show.
I don't know how it'll control without the Gamepad, but...okay.
Note that this is the exact same publication that published an article that shamed Ubisoft for not including a female protagonist in Unity. Now they're upset that Ubisoft IS including one.
It's super rare. SUPER rare.
Messed up. This person has acted this way before on multiple accounts. Not worth Notch's time.
Intelligent rebuttal. Shows how flawed the FF videos are.
Everyone made up their mind on this game ages ago; they either bought it already and are playing it, or never will. This change means nothing. You don't get a do-over, Polygon.
"They weren't gonna take your games away," right? ;)
Seriously, this Western outrage nonsense is a pain.
