"So, just because you don't want it, that means it shouldn't be included?"
Remember when Bioshock and Tomb Raider weren't going to have multiplayer, then we heard that argument and look what we got?
Look, the game really has no reason not to have voice chat. It's competitive, and competitive gamers who don't play local multiplayer like to have a way to communicate with their fellow racers, that's clear, but man, if this suppo...
I just don't see why Nintendo wouldn't include it.
I mean, I hate voice chat in online multiplayer. I never use it because I never hear anything useful or mature out of it. However, I know some people do like voice chat, and this can't be a feature that's too hard to include, in my opinion.
This seems very odd to me, since Nintendo is not unfamiliar with voice chat (they did it with the DS lots of times). Considering this is a pretty competitive game, it seems really weird that they'd omit this, at least for this game in particular.
"great games alone no longer make a system."
A substantial library of games is why people buy a game console instead of a streaming device like a Roku box. Since every device under the sun has a degree of multimedia features, I'd assume game systems to actually embrace that edge that they have over those inexpensive little boxes. In this world, where you can have multimedia services for a very inexpensive price, having access to a medium that the Roku boxes can&...
It is a road that you go...fall off of. In HD!
The big advantage that IGC has over GFG to me is choice. Lots of choice.
If you see the new GFG listings and the two games do absolutely nothing for you (or you already own them), you're stuck waiting until next month. At least with IGC you have four or five games to select from, so if you hate the first three but like the last one or two, you don't feel like the entire month was a wash.
Even if Microsoft offered a choice of only one download from fiv...
But doesn't Arkham Asylum have Metroidvania elements too? You know, learning new abilities to revisit old areas and progress?
Discovery has always been the name of the game for Metroidvania. I always found the action to be secondary to that.
I think more superheroes (regardless of gender) need representation in games. I'm a huge fan of the Arkham series, but there are quite a few more obscure superheroes that could definitely use their own series. Not just a movie tie-in, but a real game with its own appeal.
Fundamentally and by definition, ALL reviews are opinion pieces.
Meta-scores are garbage, but the idea of having a collection of links to different reviews is convenient when you want a lot of different opinions without much mindless wandering.
Pretty much. Some people would rather pay for a last-gen game with a discounted price than a fully priced next-gen version with better graphics and some new features.
It depends on whether these enhancements matter to you. A lot of them don't, which makes games like Tomb Raider Definitive Edition such a bad idea.
I highly doubt that EA posted this tweet as a form of getting back at Nintendo for what happened on the NES and SNES.
Where's my Watching Paint Dry Simulator, dammit?
Though this is clearly in poor taste, judging EA's development track record, it's not entirely surprising to hear from them.
I do, actually. You're entitled to your opinion, just as I'm entitled to my opinion to disagree with your opinion.
More with the "slippery slope" mentality? Really? We're still talking about that?
I don't think this review knows what a 1/10 means. That means borderline non-functioning.
Pachter obsesses over Iwata and what he's done more than Nintendo fans do.
Sorry, man, you can throw the "Ninty faithful" line all you want. I'm being reasonable, which you would've noticed considering my other comments on this article where I said that Nintendo has no reason not to include this in this game. And really, they don't. I can't find a reason they shouldn't. They've done it before, it's a good game to have it in, it's not expensive; so why not?
I'm saying that your attitude toward this issue ...
