Anime was a mistake.

Right now, no. If the Xbox One momentum continues, perhaps.

Sony doesn't have any interest in games like Pokemon. If they did, we'd have seen a game like that on Vita years ago. And even if Sony cared about games like Pokemon, they don't have nearly enough money to buy that kind of enormous franchise from anyone.

I sure would like Sony to release an official PS4 media remote. Kinda nitpicky, but I like watching Netflix with a remote and not a controller.

I think, as Jim said, putting money down on a game that's likely to sell out quickly is fine, but most of the games these little pre-order things are for are really popular games like Far Cry and Call of Duty, games that have no chance of emptying their stock completely.

In that case, pre-ordering is pointless, because the retailers will have more than enough stock to provide without running out.

Sakurai MADE the game. It's not a PR stunt because he MADE the game. He DESIGNED the series that way. It was his creative decision. Smash Brothers was never designed to be competitive. Melee just happened to be a shiny coin for the pro fighting game community. It was an accident.

Also, why are you giving so much credit to the pro Smash community? They're not the majority. I know people who severely dislike professional Smash. They like having items on. They like playi...

The problem I'm seeing is all the "definitive" and "ultimate" editions of games, last-gen games with minor graphical improvements being sold as current-gen games with current-gen prices. That's the big issue.

It's worse than the HD collection epidemic from last gen. At least those games had significant graphical improvements and the convenience of being packaged together. The re-release addiction that the industry has right now is no way to rep...

If not, I honestly wouldn't expect Naughty Dog to keep making them. After Crash, they went to Jak. After Jak, they went to Uncharted. They're not a company that likes to keep franchises going beyond their expected due and that's admirable.

Some companies are terrified of having a story end (looking at you, Square Enix and your FF XIII series). Naughty Dog don't like jumping sharks. When they feel a story is done, they'll close the book instead of scraping ...

Media Molecule would be a good fit for Crash, methinks.

I sure wish Sony are able to get Crash Bandicoot out of Activision's stranglehold. Sony would actually do something with that franchise.

Oh, c'mon, this isn't anywhere near the level of heartless trolling as the Conker/Project Spark thing (though having Rayman as a playable character would be awesome).

"more time to 'adjust to the Wii U'"

That's a garbage excuse. They've been working on the Wii U version alongside the PC version since the game was funded. If they started with the Wii U version, they don't need to "adjust" since it began there and not on PS4/Xbox One.

Of course it's fair. It's the honesty and transparency that's the sketchy part.

Firstly, good going for Nintendo for offering a disc-based Bayonetta with the physical Bayonetta 2. I never really liked digital codes or any of that, so it's convenient to me that Bayonetta 1 and 2 will both be physical discs together at retail.

Second, for digital, it sounds like a "Buy 1, Get 1 Free" deal. It does beg the question if the original Bayonetta Wii U will be the same $60 price as Bayonetta 2, which seems a bit odd to me, since the original Bayonet...

Why am I not surprised by this at all?

It's because companies like Capcom like to milk these games for all they're worth. It's easier to drain money from folks by re-releasing slightly old games than it is to provide some form of upgrade program where you don't have to pay full price a second time.

It's a generation that ignorantly thinks that backwards compatibility, whether hardware-based or through a singular upgrade-based system, is obsolete.

I think it's sad that people are always telling Nintendo fans to "put their money where their mouth is" and actually financially support third-party games on their system, and when they actually do it with Project CARS, they act like they're foolish for doing so and that they deserve what happened here.

I have a feeling that this event is going to show a lot of negative press toward Kickstarter in general. We're going to see a lot of articles about "...

Tomb Raider 2013 suffered big time from this, as we were supposed to witness Lara's progression from a timid student to a full-on adventurer. That's hard to do when the timid student shotgun blasts three guys in the face then stabs another five with a grappling tool.

There was no progression and it made the story very awkward and unrealistic.

I thought Devil May Cry 4 was a real bore. Nero was a terrible protagonist. It was a dull follow-up to the sheer awesome of Dante's Awakening.
