You can't compare with the Vita here, because that implies that most people have Vitas...and based on sales, they don't. Besides, if they do, that's another $200 out of pocket for a remote play device. That means that in order to do remote play on Vita, you need to pay $400 for the PS4 and another $200 for the Vita. That's $600 just for remote play.
"The PS4 let's you put in a hard drive so what's your point?"
So does the Wii...
How can this be resolved? If people who own Nintendo consoles usually invest their cash in Nintendo games over third-party games, what can be done to mend that? Is it more promotion and marketing of these third-party games in collaboration with Nintendo? Is it offering more third-party exclusives to combine with Nintendo's original offerings? I really don't know.
I understand the problem at hand. I'm just really not sure what the best course of action here is to f...
Yes, but would you buy a PS4 AND an Xbox One? No, you wouldn't, because you'd be getting a library composed extensively of games they share: multi-platform games. That means that you'd buy ONE of those consoles (or better yet, a PC). If you buy a PS4 for multi-platform games like you say, you would have zero reason to buy an Xbox One. All those multi-platform games you just got on PS4 no longer become a selling-point for an Xbox One. As a result, the only way to justify buying an ...
I highly doubt the Wii U is gonna get first place this gen, but right now, they're the only console with a worthwhile 2014 lineup that only they possess. They have their own identity that they don't share with any other system.
You don't buy a system over another to play multi-platform games. You buy it for exclusives. Nintendo has that secured in spades.
Avermedia products, from my experience, are pretty unreliable, especially considering the amount of features and updates Elgato gives their products.
I would be more supportive of remakes if they didn't outnumber the new, original games.
Too many multi-platform and cross-gen games this year. That shouldn't happen during the holiday season after two major console launches.
I use Elgato Game Capture HD for console streaming a lot and I love the device's features, but I stream games through OBS, which allows overlays. I never really liked the first Elgato's built-in Twitch streaming interface (it felt too sketchy and unreliable for me), so that leaves 1080p/60fps as the only selling point for me right now.
I'm gonna wait and see what the early reception is before deciding on this. Right now, there really isn't anything in this new...
"I have two units of each. XBO and PS4 in my bedroom and one of each in my living room. It's easy to play with friends in my living room (Primary/Home console) then my bedroom and sometimes I want the privacy of playing in my bedroom."
Why did you do that? Why in the world would you do that? Why would you shell out an extra 400-500 dollars on one of two consoles whose current lineups are nearly identical and are likely to remain that way until 2015, when their e...
But the DeviantArt community can.
Talk about an underrated series. Darksiders is awesome. Hoping for a new installment!
Sounds more like the poorly disguised "install base" argument than a shot at the tech. All the other indie devs who develop on Wii U seem to be doing fine (look at Yacht Club Games and Shovel Knight). Didn't Zen say this kind of stuff a few months ago and no one bought their excuse then?
That same argument happened with Kinect on Xbox One. Now we aren't going to see any significant support of that, since not every person is going to own one. The console-to-controller ratio isn't going to be 100% anymore if Nintendo do the same.
To be fair, though, the name issue has been around since the console first started struggling. I've personally seen situations where employees have mislabeled the Wii and Wii U, or a customer didn't know the difference between the two.
While it's no justification for the flood of doom articles, the name is a problem, one that people noted long before Adelman spoke his mind on it.
"Next, make the GamePad optional and sell it separately."
You were doing so well until you said that.
The Twitch robots are silencing us. We have no mouths...and we must scream.
Seriously, though, Twitch implemented a way to block copyrighted music, but introduced it without any way to challenge the claims. All of the mistakenly blocked music is impossible to get back without any way to prove legality by the users. We're helpless to these problems. It's a mess.
I also heard that Twitch's own Twitch channel had its music blocked by the new copyrigh...
That joke pretty much wrote itself.
DrinkBox are incredible developers. Very eager to see what they create next.
It's cheaper and less work-intensive than making a full-on remake of RE2 or Code Veronica. Always cutting those corners, Capcom.
"You do know the Vita is its own device."
Have you seen the Vita marketing? Sony isn't treating it like its own device. They keep selling the device as a remote play device, without pushing any original software for the thing. Vita support has tanked considerably since launch and Sony has essentially chained the device to the PS4. It's not its own device anymore; it's a companion device.
You're buying the thing for remote play. That&...
