That's still not bad at all. So nearly half his shots from a magnum hit home which is way better than most of the people who play shooters.

Sniper rifle accuracy is good too. Chances are the reason the overall accuracy is low is from using set ups with machine guns, you generally arnt as accurate with those.

I have counter strike. Brilliant game, cant say Im that good at it though the people who play on there are insane. Im glad there arnt more of them on...

Developers can get by staying exclusive, but only if the games are great. Resistance was never great, it was more good/average. That's why the games were never a runaway success.

Its not the gamers fault for not buying the games. Its insomniacs fault for not listening to what the gamers wanted. All the critics and gamers said they wanted more story and more interesting characters but they never materialised. And the series multi player never seemed to know what it was. <...

Resistance 1 was good, but the second one was only good for co op. They got rid of everything I liked about R1's campaign. I liked how ally ai could die making it harder later on, it kept you on your toes to try and keep them alive. Plus the sense of being alone when they all died added to the atmosphere.

Didn't even consider buying R3. Insomniac is better than this. Ratchet and Clank has gone down hill for me which is sad because Im a huge fan and this series didnt t...

There will always be patches to shooters. Once the game is out and millions play the devs find out in one day more than they did during months of play testing. That makes it easy to see what balances are needed.

Anyway cod patches have been tiny compared to other shooters.

Been playing this game only a couple days now but gotta admit its pretty good. Bf will always be my favourite but this is a big improvement over black ops.

And anyway all online shooters go through multiple patches. Its a good thing, games always came out with imbalances and bugs its just that now they can be fixed.

The striker is a bit powerful. Almost sad its being nerfed. I dont use it much but its funny in some maps, way too powerful. Just creates a wall ...

mcstorm I've noticed that too. For some reason a ps3 update claiming minor changes takes far longer than a 360 update which completely re designs the dashboard.

Are their updates just better done or is it faster servers?

5132d ago 5 agree18 disagreeView comment

The ps4 will probably support those features, just like the ps3 supports 1080p 60fps. Its just that most games wont run it.

I expect some psn games to support those features like wipeout was on the top end for resolution and fps. Dont expect something like battlefield to be pushing 4k 300fps though

5143d ago 0 agree6 disagreeView comment

It may as well support 4K for movies, that would make sense.

As for games expect something like wipeout to support it, just to keep those who invested in such a thing happy.

1080p 60fps should be standard next gen. Maybe 30fps for really intense games. who knows

5144d ago 4 agree1 disagreeView comment

Most of that was just saying what is available on the 360 now, so yeah of course it'll be there next gen...

Gaming is not going to take the back seat. The first tab on the new xbox dashboard has the play disk button so its not like your scrolling through to get to a game. Gaming is a massive sector which is growing faster than any other in media so don't worry about loss of support there.

Its been a media machine for the previous two dashboard updates...

@groundskeeperJimbo

That's the thing I've not bought a desktop in ages since laptops these days are more than capable of day to day use and can just be plugged into a monitor for home use, and then unplugged for travel.

I makes desktops seem unnecessary for the normal things, and they have definitely caught up with gaming, saw one on a gadget show that was running crysis and not for too much more than a decent gaming desktop. Obviously more expensive ...

Id get a gaming laptop if I could but they're so much more expensive. You can probably get something pretty decent for £800 though.

But that's just because Id like to easy be able to take it with me and for general space saving. If I didn't need to take it around with me Id go straight for a desktop.

I don't see any massive issues with the layout (the video bug is annoying but it'll probably be fixed).

Its just bringing the 360 more in line with the rest of microsoft's products like windows 8 and the windows mobile and tablet interfaces. The apps all seem to share similar layouts too which makes things nicely consistent.

The previous update was definitely simpler, but a change every so often is nice.

I don't know. I haven't played GT5 in a month or so but when I first played Forza 4 it just felt right, very different to Forza 3 and GT5.

The car actually felt like it had real weight and was connected to the road. GT5 definitely beat Forza 3 but I really think Forza 4 is slightly better.

Personally this gen at least I've found the Forza games more fun anyway. The driver ai is superb, some drivers screw up when you pressure them, and even try to ...

5148d ago 1 agree5 disagreeView comment

At the risk of a million disagrees, whilst i thought as a simulation GT5 beat forza 3, Forza 4 has really improved and has definitely stepped infront of GT5 from a simulation standpoint.

5148d ago 3 agree18 disagreeView comment

Hopefully it'll be good.

Big improvements for me are once again step up the shooting mechanics, more guns (honestly, please, more guns to choose from) and more things to spend your money on apart from guns.

Houses, businesses, cars, just something to spend the inevitable ton of money you get after the last mission =p

If I were a ps3 owner (own both) out of those games the ones I would really like would be

Forza 4 (prefer it to GT5, that's just me though)
Gears of War 3
Maybe Halo 4, I like the games but I've had more fun with gears

Not sure why there's so many kinect games there. Kinect isn't bad, quite fun with Forza 4 and kinect sports. Cant say its desperately needed on any console though.

Those images are a bit stretched which makes it really difficult to make any kind of judgement.

It wont look as good as drakes fortune but on a small screen it will still look very good.

Frostypants, I thought some buildings looked familiar.

And yeah, its not like they've ditched complete destructibility for no reason, there are definitely some pluses in there for the way the gameplay works and the detail of the buildings.

5149d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yeah I did think one reason was probably because the xmb is used in their media players and other products too so it makes some sense to keep things uniform.

But yeah Im guessing they just didn't foresee changes being needed and so they left no resources available for such things.

5149d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Its not bad, I still prefer bad company 2 for destruction though. Its not very clear what is and is not destructible, so sometimes you shoot at a wall to blow a hole in it, only to find that its for some reason indestructible. It takes away some of the flexibility of tactics that was in the previous game.
