COD4 was brilliant. Personally I dont think its the killstreaks that were the worst mistakes, but they definitely didnt help. It was the map design that really hurt the game.
What happened to simple, yet tactical maps like crossfire and bloc??? Theyve been replaced by maps where no one can really use cover or move tactically, its just running around getting shot in the back.
And thats fine but once you find a gun you like it all gets too easy and boring so a...
I spent a good 300 hours on oblivion doing exactly what youve just mentioned, all the little things and it was brilliant. Even racked up another hundred or so on another character.
My point was more that in many less hours i found that I just lost interest in the game. I tried to revive some of that interest by playing as different characters but it didnt happen. I dont know what it is but the game just didnt have the same wow factor that i got with their other games.
I do understand the points raised. Oblivion was great but once the fallout games came out and gave you complete control over weather you were a good guy or a bad guy, and then really made you pay for your actions in vegas with different factions either helping you or trying to kill you, bits in Skyrim felt like a step back.
I also played as an evil character in skyrim, a sneaky assassin who punished any guard who looked at him funny with a quick and unexpected end. But when m...
Personally I hope that Sony doesnt change their formula too much next gen. Theres definitely a lot to learn from Microsoft on the software side with the dashboard and integration with other services, but their core value has always been premium quality, premium price.
And weve seen it throughout the generation. Whilst Microsoft has brought out some brilliant games this generation theres not been a lot of boundary pushing going on. Halo has stayed the same, as has gears. Forza...
I don't see the problem with adding co op. It'll still be a good game. Does watching horror movies with friends make the film any worse? no.
Plus I think it would make it much more fun, especially if your playing with a jumpy friend.
And to those saying its not scary. Play it in the dark with some decent headphones. I'm not afraid to admit I jumped a fair few times =p
He's said that a few times though hasnt he even before MGS3? Correct me if im wrong. Personally I think MGS3 was the best of the series, and both the second and original very closely followed.
I hope he does something new though. MGS4 wasnt quite as good as the rest but it was still a brilliant game, and he would be wise to leave it on a highish note before the series becomes tainted.
Unfortunately though This Metal Gear Raiden game could be the spin off ...
Im a massive fan of MGS but trying to tie everything up with a one size fits all answer of nanomachines did make me cringe a little.
You could even tell even Hideo didnt quite understand it since it took a 30 min sequence to be explained...
I think the reason many people are turning against call of duty is not so much thats its a bad game, but because it could, and should, be much more.
I remember when call of duty 4 came out, there was no real debate it was the benchmark for multiplayer fps. Every single map was brilliant and offered a completely different style of gameplay and required different skills and let you play however you wanted.
Bog - stealth, Crossfire- straight up firefight, overgr...
On consoles I get what your saying actually. I definitely enjoyed the maps more in bad company 2.
Last time I played it though the servers seemed to have gotten pretty bad. Gonna miss the Vietnam pack that was brilliant fun.
Thats the thing I want more than anything right now.
Im not sure why its not there im guessing theres some kind of limitation that stops sony from doing this because seeing how well the 360 does it youd think sony wouldve done something similar.
Its not a major gripe but its one of my most wanted updates. Wont happen this gen though.
They kind of brought it upon themselves unfortunately. I enjoyed confrontation (which was made by slant six i think) way more than socom 4 so Im hoping slant six are tasked with making the next one.
confrontation want perfect but after the lag issues were sorted it was much closer to what the fans wanted than socom 4.
considering its a multimedia device which people will want to use for their dvd's and music cd's. I think to say that the next xbox wont have a disk drive is ridiculous.
Who said it wasnt going to have one? Can no one spot a troll anymore?
Id like it if medal of honour went back to world war 2.
Its not cod thats the problem, they do their genre well, no need to change much. The issue is all the other developers that have, maybe not intentionally, made games which feel way to similar or are set in way t similar environments.
Lets get medal of honour back in japan or something, ww2. Id like to see that properly done with todays software.
I cant see them using a new engine this gen, not when new consoles are about to be announced.
And as for destruction, its adding all these things that have made cod less focused.
Fair enough thanks for the reply. I'll download the free version just to see how it is. I remember map design was always brilliant in Killzone 2 that was its main plus point for me.
wow I'll have to go for that. I loved Killzone 2's multiplayer, right up until you leveled up and came up against ridiculous things such as invisible snipers crouching in corridors and enemies that posed as team mates.
It went from great tactical gameplay that me and my friends flourished on, to rocket spamming craziness with GOD DAM INVISIBLE SNIPERS. Hated it so much and without deleting my save files I couldnt go back to the best bit, when medics were unlocked and...
I agree it is an amazing piece of kit which does what it intends, to bring core games out of the home console and where ever you want them, brilliantly.
There wont be any major changes to the design but there will be some improvements. The original psp's redesigns saw improvements such as a slimmer design, better screen with more colours and better response times.
its mainly little things really. I think a lot of people are hanging back at the moment to s...
I bought the original version of the psp and after a few years development completely dried up, and there were several other much better versions available cheaper.
I doubt I'll ever get a vita, but my advice would be to sit back. To check that the console takes off and that developers stay interested, and to see what new versions are made.
We will probably at least be seeing bundles with much larger memory cards on offer soon, and if the parts get small...
Killzone was never that balanced online. Invisible snipers would camp in corridors and use their rifles like shotguns.
Battlefield is no where near balanced either. Everyone uses the famas. Just like in black ops.
No game has a truly balanced set of guns, if they were all perfectly balanced, then theyd all be exactly the same.
I dont think its a huge issue, despite the slight imbalances all the guns can be effective. Its just bad players, n...
Im surprised at the Disagrees Nitrowolf2 is getting and a few others
There arnt many games that can really be described as hardcore because theres no real set of criteria for what one should be. how can you be so categorical about it when the variety of games is so rich and when the content and gameplay overlaps so much?
a hardcore gamer is just someone who puts loads of time into video games and plays it as a main hobby. Its not really got anything to do wit...
