Absolute madness especially when comparing to Final Fantasy which has so many games that are considered successful.
It's surprising no one has tried to copy GTA, all we see are loads of battle royales.
Most of those gamers will just move to PC/Xbox hardcore COD gamers won't care about the platform they just don't want to be left behind.
The fact that the PS5 and XSX are both 1080p speaks volumes.
Thanks for proving my point Halo is more popular than Destiny on Xbox.
It's still top 5 played on Xbox ahead of games like Destiny, Steam is just a small base.
But if it does start failing MS will likely have to buy T2 and EA to make up the difference.
@Atticus_finch
Destiny is not more popular than Halo on Xbox, plus Destiny is also FTP too. And 700 dev with one game is still a bad deal when you consider what MS got with Zenimax.
Its was a bad deal but like I said Sony desperately needed them.
For one game it's a hell of a lot especially when MS got Zenimax for only double that.
But Sony needed Bungie so I am guessing it was a blank cheque kind of deal.
They turned up at the second half of 2021.
Psychonauts, Flight Sim, SOT: APL, Deathloop, Halo, Forza. Easily the best and highest rated first party lineup from last year.
I have no interest in VR but this game looks like it was made to be played in VR.
You need to think logically here Sony has VR and GaaS to support they don't have the capacity for SP games.
Last year they released only 3 games (not including re-releases), this year also looks to be 3 games. In order to reach 10 by 2026 they will need to release 3 GaaS games every year how will the do that AND release VR AND release SP games.
Not going to happen.
This means there will be no more single player games.
Tell me the list of studio with successful live service games which make anything else.
Halo, Fortnite, SoT, COD etc in order to succeed you can’t make other games you need an army of devs.
This will be the last year of single player Sony games guaranteed.
Pretty much this.
Sony could only get Bungie because MS passed on them, MS could easily have outbid Sony but MS wanted to make any new games exclusive while Sony offered Bungie multiplatform.
Sony can only acquire studios MS doesn't want.
Likely fake but there will be a lot of PS5 returns/trade-in once the exclusivity kicks in.
Exactly just let it die and save some money for Game Pass deals.
It shocks me every month that they can still find games that I have never heard of before.
MS brought ActiBliz not Xbox.
You can spin it all you want. They are all the same company.
Must be great for the devs to know so many people played your game.
Both got more players in a couple of months, than most games will ever get an entire generation.
They made $22.2bl in profit.
I feel like there will be a culture clash if they brought a JP publisher unless they brought them and did what Sony did with Bungie and let them stay multiplatform and independent.
But Bandai has started using the Metaverse catch phrase so they could be next.
