And yet games like Halo and Forza still sell by the truck load on Steam and not on Game Pass. If you make a good game it will sell regardless if it's "free" on a service.
Oddworld was mediocre and likely would have made less money than whatever Sony paid them. Subscriptions are the future of gaming wether you like it or not.
If a game is not published/developer by Sony it will end up on Xbox eventually, and most likely Day 1 on Game Pass too.
The realistic art style give me hope we might see Marvel and Star Wars.
They both are not trillion dollar companies they cannot afford to do so like MS. To be successful with subscriptions you need a lot of money to burn like Disney/Apple/Netflix. Even Netflix is struggling now and have to keep upping their pricing.
Sony and Nintendo would likely become bankrupt fast if they failed.
Great first half of April, knew LiS would come on the service eventually. SE really loves Game Pass, all their big games have been on the service.
It doesn't?
GT7 has plenty of issues too just like most GaaS do.
Last year MS was the number 1 publisher on Metacritic so you can have Day 1 exclusive and keep quality. The only reason Sony can't is because they can't afford it.
Agreed they just can't compete with MS and Game Pass they just don't have the money too.
To the surprise of no one.
Xenoblade 3 is all I need from Switch this holiday anyway.
This is exactly why it's known as the "best deal in gaming", you get to play pretty much all the best games for "free".
Surprised it took so long, I fully expect COD and Fortnite to do the same thing since they are so popular that the masses will easily except it.
As as shareholder it would be silly to vote no, since the share price will plummet massively.
Smart to buy them now when they are dirt cheap, hopefully their game is a success.
I can't imagine many paying $70 for this, I will likely check it out when it comes to Game Pass though.
The only studios they have made internally are TI, The Coalition and 343. TI is a mess, 343 is a mess but still managed to create a game that got numerous GOTY awards and The Coalition has put out solid games too. I am sure with CD help Perfect Dark will be fine, but they will likely look to buy more studios instead of make them.
This studio looks like a mess MS should just disband it and buy Crystal Dynamics from SE since they are doing most of the work now.
Luckily for MS they now have so many studios and once Activision Blizzard join they will have so many more. One messy studio doesn't mean much.
Wow Xbox outsold PS even during the launch month of Horizon, it didn't even need an exclusive of it's own. I guess Game Pass really is the system seller.
The Forespoken trailer was the best thing there in my opinion, I have a feeling it likely will score 7s but if they do a sequel it could be something special.
The particle effects look awesome.
Crazy how 1, 4 and 5 are all Xbox or soon to be Xbox studios.
They absolutely dominated in 2021, they might not be number 1 in 2022 but 2023 onwards I can't see anyone coming close.
But they might have only sold 5 copies if they didn't go on PS+.
For all we know not a single one of those 4ml gamers planned to ever purchase the game, now that they have played they may be more interested in future games or any expansions for it.
If they were so confident in their game they would never have done the deal, there is a reason why games like GTA aren't day 1 on Game Pass.
