Exactly the reason I have generic brand memory sticks for my PSP instead of being ripped off by the Sony brand.
EDIT - you got a good deal. My Sandisk memory sticks cost me half of what the Sony brands cost.
Has anyone ever looked at the price of "official" Sony PSP memory sticks compared to other brands?
When I bought my 4gb memory stick, it would have cost me nearly twice as much for the Sony brand compared to a lesser brand.
Not to mention, an "official" PS3 6ft HDMI cable made by Sony costs around $50, when you can get a similar quality cably not made by Sony for less than $20.

This is obviously a tactic to clear stock of current 360's to make room for a redesigned console later this year.
My opinion is that $99 won't be an ongoing price point - when they're gone, they're gone.
"Same price as a PS2". LOL - just goes to show that the PS2 is incredibly overpriced after 10 years.
Fortunately, 360 doesn't need Japan to survive. Both Wii and PS3 are viable in three regions (Japan, Europe, & North America). 360 is viable in just two (Europe & NA).
Despite this difference, 360 still manages to maintain brisk sales overall, and stay ahead of it's primary competition.
Can't wait for the new Hydro Thunder game this year. The original was awesome - I still play it.
Reviewers hate sims? That's why you consider Forza 3 an "arcade" racer, & that's why you think Forza 3 scored higher than Forza 2?
So, by your reasoning, if GT5 scores a 95+ average rating, that will make GT5 the ultimate arcade racer, right?
The fact that you were the first person to mention Forza in a GT5 article doesn't exactly support your opinion that GT is the better franchise.
It used to be that all other driving games were measured against GT. Now, Forza seems to be the measuring stick.
Why else would Forza be mentioned in EVERY GT article if GT really was superior?

Forza 3 is the highest rated console driving sim since 2001. Sometimes the appetizer turns out better than the main course.
EDIT @ livewires - it's not Forza's fault that PD has not released anything this generation to compare to Forza 2 & 3.

You can't predict PS3's sales using PS2's sales.
PS2 sold 18 million units in it's second full year, 22 million in it's third, and 20 million more in it's fourth (#'s are Sony official shipments). PS3's second and third years have already passed, and it's nowhere near those numbers.
You also have to look at Nintendo & MS's last generation sales. Xbox sold 25 million & Gamecube sold 20 million. So far this generation, NIntendo & MS have over 100 mil...
"Slim" console redesigns go all the way back to the Atari 2600 days.
Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, PS1, PS2, PS3 are the consoles that I can remember that have had "slim" versions released during their lifecycles.
I wouldn't put any Xbox or Playstation controller on top of my list because none of them have good enough D-pads.
Wii classic controller is the best controller I've ever used. It conbines all the best features of the best controllers ever. Perfect D-pad - Nintendo ALWAYS gets D-pads right, SNES style face buttons, Dual Shock style analog sticks & great shoulder triggers.

Too bad PD lied about GT5 being ready to release "any day now" last sunmmer. Had GT5 & Forza 3 been released at the same time, that would have made for a more accurate comparison.
Releasing a full year after your competition, then bragging about how much better it looks, or how many more features it has, is just plain ridiculuos. It's like Toyota bragging about a 2010 model car by comparing it to Honda's 2009 model.
