I've never seen the dolphin emulator. How does it work?
Aren't all Wii games native 480p? Does the emulator simply upscale them to HD resolution?
The four players was rumored, but it doesn't matter anyways. The casual audience that Natal is aimed at doesn't follow rumors on N4G. Once it is released, the core audience will know all of the details.
Even if it is just two players, it's still a comparable price point to Wii or Move.
MS should promote the "one price" feature of Natal - meaning up to four players can play using just one Natal accessory.
Current Wii owners who may be looking to upgrade to a 360 or PS3 will certainly know that it gets expensive to add 2-4 extra controllers, as the Wii (and Move) require for multi-player.
And the 360 slim will happen, and probably further the 360's lead over PS3, no matter how much you wish it won't.
I'm holding out hope for Project Gotham Racing 5. I heard rumors a few months ago, but I've heard nothing since. Hopefully it's just been kept under wraps.
"all I can see coming down the pipes for the game division is Natal".
I guess you're not expecting Halo Reach, Fable 3, or Gears of War 3 to sell much. Natal is an accessory. It will not make or break the 360. MS's bread & butter is hardcore games, and there is a lot of bread and butter coming in the next year.
"With 360 sales declining".
The most recent data shows 360 INCREASING year over year, even in Ap...
I don't think the iPhone qualifies as a "game console". Game consoles play games firstly - the iPhone is a phone/portable internet device that ALSO plays games.
PC Engine was an inspired choice since it had little success outside Japan. I discovered it via emulation, and it really could have gone neck and neck with SNES & Genesis in the U.S. if it was marketed better. Despite technically being an 8-bit system with a 16-bit graphics chip, PC Engine really ...
Yeah, it's pretty hilarious to see the true colors of some of the well known PS3 trolls shining through.
"Nobody plays games with friends or family - everyone sits in a dark room and plays alone like me."
It's pretty funny to listen to PS3 fans when it comes to Natal. They love to complain that MS "nickels & dimes" this generation by charging extra for things that the PS3 includes.
However, Natal is a single unit that up to 4 people can use. No extra charge for multi-player. With Move (and Wii), each player needs a $60-$99 setup.
If up to four people can play using just one Natal, then the price is offset by the lack of a need to purchase multiple units.
How much does (or will) it cost for 2-4 players to play a Wii or Move game?
MS has also yet to announce whether any games will be bundled with Natal.
"Front loaded"?
2010 will be 360's 5th year, and maybe it's best. Alan Wake, Mass Effect 2, Halo Reach, Fable 3, Crackdown 2, Splinter Cell Conviction so far released or announced. E3 still to come for more announcements. Gears of War 3 already announced to start 2011 on a high note.
Big game releases spread out nice and evenly - that's what I call running a marathon, not a a sprint.
Natal will not determine the fortu...
If Natal fails, MS still has stellar exclusives like Halo Reach, Gears of War 3, & Fable 3, plus whatever else they announce at E3.
Move & Natal are gimmicks. Neither console will be "over" if one (or both) fail.
EDIT @ below - I would dispute the opinion that everyone who wants to play Halo already has a 360. The same arguement was used last year when Halo 3:ODST was released. 360 sales received a huge spike that month - incidentally the...
They don't care. Look at the recent "Microsoft will win E3" opinion article. It is full of trolling and off-topic comments, yet nobody gets deleted.
However, in pro-PS3 articles, the mods are very quick to delete comments they don't like.
PS3 is a console. Natal is an accessory. There is a big difference.
Even if Natal fails to live up to the hype, MS has great game after great game coming out for 360 in the coming months.
360 will survive even if Natal doesn't. Personally, I have yet to see anything about Natal that makes me want one. Maybe E3 will change that.
"Well if we look at the head 2 head numbers since the two consoles have been available worldwide the PS3 is winning, and if we align launch dates the PS3 is winning."
Those are both flawed arguements. You can't align the launch dates because there would be too many other factors to consider. 360 would have been cheaper at launch if it launched in 2006, and PS3 would have been more expensive if it launched in 2005.
I've already given the re...
360/PC games? MS's big three games for E3 will be Halo Reach, Fable 3, & Gears of War 3. Are any of those timed exclusives?
Were Halo 3, Fable 2, or Gears of War 2 timed exclusives? Were any of those on PC?
You clearly don't know much about 360 games, yet here you are complimenting an equally clueless troll.
It's pretty clear who is on narcotics.
Considering how important music is to games - especially nowadays - bringing the Beatles on stage was EXTEMELY relevant to gamers. Of course, there are too many gamers - many here - whose musical preferences extend about as far back as Justin Beiber. These people simply can't appreciate what the Beatles - and others - have meant to society, and to game developers.
That's why there are so many comments from people who think it was just a "distraction".
More of the "PS3 has outsold 360 since the PS3 launched" arguement again, huh? That arguement is flawed for one major reason - 360 had already sold around 8 million when PS3 launched.
In November, 2006, on PS3's launch day, there were no PS3 owners. There were already 8 million or so 360 owners. Therefore, the pool of potential PS3 buyers was much bigger than the pool of potential 360 owners because so many people already had a 360. Starting to count on that...
The PS1 started off much slower than PS3, but gained sales in a way in which PS3 simply will be unable to.
In PS1's third year, Sony sold 19+ million. In PS1's fourth year, Sony sold 21+ million. And, in PS1's fifth year, Sony sold 18+ million.
PS3 sold 13 million in it's most recent year, and Sony is predicting 15 million for the current year.
PS3 was equal to PS1 after three years only because of PS1's slow start. O...
Price-wise, this generation is turning out exactly like last generation. PS2 owners had to pay extra for many things included for free on Xbox, yet PS2 still dominated.
$25-$50 for a an 8mb PS2 memory card - Xbox had 8GB of built in memory.
$40 for a broadband adaptor. Xbox had it built in.
$20 for an adaptor to add 3 or 4 controllers - Xbox had 4 ports built in.
Maybe 360 buyers are hypnotized by great games, just like PS2...
