The U.S. is, by far, the largest single gaming country in the world. Winning the U.S. is a MUCH bigger accomplishment than winning any other country.
Look at it this way. Would you argue that Roger Federer is NOT the best tennis player in the world because every other tennis player COMBINED has more wins than Federer has by himself?
Yeah, it does say NPD.
Please. You guys absolutely LOVE it when anyone in the industry says something negative about the competition, yet you can't handle it when it happens to Sony.
You've convinced yourselves that Move is perfect, and you are ready to drop the hammer on anyone who actually uses it, and disagrees.
Maybe I should go back to some of the negative Natal articles and see who was commenting there. Did Natal get the same benefit of the doubt that everyone seems to give Mov...
He has a point. What would the PS3 supporters be saying if MS started thanking reviewers?
That's just another conspiracy theory - it's contagious on N4G.
There will probably be close to 50 million 360's in homes when Fable 3 comes out, far more than when Fable 2 or Gears of War came out.
Will 10% of 360 gamers buy it? Maybe - it could come close.
So, that must be why the 360 version of Mass Effect 2 is rated higher than the PC version?
Or, after all of the recent Final Fantasy 13 discussion, are PS3/PC owners now suddenly willing to settle for second-best ports of their games?
The 360 has the best version of the year's best game so far - gamers who want the best have a pretty good reason to own a 360 so far this year.
If FF13 is not up to the standards set by the past chapters, it's because of poor development on the part of SE, NOT because of any limitations on the 360's hardware (lowest common denominator as you call it).
How is it that SO MANY other developers are able to create stellar, highly rated games - both exclusive and multi-platform - for the 360? It has NOTHING to do with any perceived limitations on the 360's hardware - if a game fails to live up to a standard, it's the fault ...
The biggest problem with reviews is that people automatically assume that a reviewed game is being compared to ALL other games.
We keep hearing "how can (insert game here) get the same score for graphics as (insert game here)?
People have to understand that a review is about ONE game, not a comparison of that game against EVERY other game.
A perfect score for graphics simply means that that particular game's graphics are perfect for what that ...
Keep those "media bias" conspiracy theories coming - it only makes you look more and more foolish.
Conspiracy theories are for weak-minded people who don't want to believe the obvious truth, so they need to make up UNPROVABLE theories to make themselves feel better.
"You guys aren't really able to defend this one. Its the double standard we always talk about. FF13 proves that Microsofts advertising budget for this Playstation franchise is more important than letting 360 owners know their game is subhd."
Playstation franchise??? Did you just start gaming this generation?
I guess all those FF games on NES, SNES, etc. were just a figment of my imagination.
FF existed LONG before Playstation did. FF's ...
PS1 sold 19+ million in it's third year, 21+ million in it's fourth year, and 18+ million in it's fifth year. Plus, even with those huge numbers, PS1 still barely crossed 100 million over ten years.
PS3 is nowhere near those numbers.
Only the Wii has a chance at 100+ million this generation.
"Just give it 6 months to a year and Splinter Cell and Metro will be played on the PS3......if they're any good."
"What if Splinter Cell and AW turns out bad."
Funny how PS3 fans always play the "let's wait & see" game when it comes to 360 games, yet nearly EVERY PS3 exclusive is labeled as "Game of the Year" long before anyone even plays it.
You could just as easily say many of the same things about Sony. Maybe Sony was afraid of Nintendo being the #1 entertainment provider, so that's why they formed the Playstation division.
Clearly, you began gaming this generation, because you don't seem to know that the PS1 and PS2 were very unreliable consoles. Sony didn't get hardware quality right until the PS3. However, poor hardware quality didn't stop the PS1 or PS2, and it won't stop the 360.
5 frames is 5 frames, regardless of what game you're talking about. Whether you make a gesture and it's recorded 5 frames later, or if you push a button and have the game respond 5 frames later (like KZ2), it's EXACTLY the same thing.
Darkride - just because someone is playing a demo badly doesn't mean it's because of lag. Look at the latest GT5 videos with the HORRIBLE drivers playing the demos. Do you want to blame that on lag as well?
Besides, anti-MS peopl...
You're right that PS3 has been selling 10+ million each year. However, the PS3 is still in the "first 60%" of it's lifecycle that I mention in which the majority of console sales occur.
PS1 sold over 19 million in it's third year, over 20 million in it's fourth year, and over 18 million in it's fifth year - yet PS1 just barely reached 100 million over ten years.
Averaging 10-12 million per year during a console's "peak" selling time - as th...
GO SOX!!!
Ratings in the high 90's??????? You mean GT3?? Keep living in the past - I live in 2010.
The ONLY area that GT beats Forza is sales. If you think sales equals quality, then you're hopeless anyway.
Seems you want to compare ONLY in certain areas too.
Yankees, huh - maybe next we can debate a $200 million payroll vs. a $120 million payroll.
You present your opinions well (mostly), but leave the "Forza 3 sucked & flopped" garbage in the open zone where it belongs.
Those 3D glasses were years ahead of their time. Too bad there weren't more games that took advantage of them.
Master System is one of my favorite retro consoles. It was more powerful than NES - too bad third parties were locked into exclusive contracts with Nintendo. SMS versions of some of the classic 8-bit games would have been awesome.
I've played Sonic 2 (via emulation), and while it's good, I don't think it's better than the Genesis version like the auth...
