Serial troll against Infamous. Just check his history.
Why? Note that "Blacklight" was a special ops team in Prototype.
Well, they did the same with I1, different powers depending on whether you went evil or good.
It's a way of making the choices matter. If what you choose makes no difference, why bother choosing at all?
I wonder if they'll add user-generated missions?
I'm having a blast with the UGC beta, almost done with my two-part mission. There are a few annoying limitations (you can't make a vehicle follow a path?) but it's amazing how flexible the system really is.
The only major problem with I1 was that you eventually ran out of things to do. With UGC, I can come home from work every night and play some new missions.
Better *game*, sure. But I didn't express myself clearly - when Fleming referred to U2, he was talking specifically about graphics.
I2 is an open-world game, and *can't* have U2-level graphics (though I'd love for someone to prove me wrong). But judging from the beta, they've got better graphics than I1 or any other open-world game I've seen.
BTW, to head off a flame war - I don't think he was claiming they were trying to be better than UC2, so much as better than I1.
I agree, the beta looks very good but it's not perfect. It's *excellent* for an open-world game, though. Definitely a step up from the first, and the first wasn't bad at all.
For the original Infamous, there was a "Gigawatt Blades" power that you could get by pre-ordering. About a year later they gave it away as a free download.
They'll probably wind up doing something similar with these bonuses.
I've reflowed my fatty twice now, hoping to keep it going until they drop the price on the slim. With luck, I can even keep the fatty going as a blu-ray player for our bedroom.
Naw, he's a serial troll. Notice the number of bubbles.
At one point he claimed to have slogged through both endings of Infamous, hating it all the time. If he actually did it at all, it was apparently just to complain about it on forums. I can imagine no sadder commentary on a person than that.
Unusually good interview. Covers a lot of 'behind the scenes' stuff.
Wait... you slogged through a game you disliked, *twice*? My God, man, life's too short for that! Did you do it just so you could complain about it on forums?
Ordering the Hero edition today.
Because all 'hackers' are exactly alike, and there's no difference between homebrewers and pirates and tinkerers and cheaters and so forth.
Same with 'gamers'. They're all the same. They're not satisfied with FPS, they want platformers and brawlers and RTS and RPG and minigames.
(If at this point you do not suspect sarcasm, please turn in your Internet license and shut down your browser.)
Wait - the author says, "Presumably in response to the lawsuits Sony has initiated in response to the custom firmwares allowing Other OS, the PlayStation Network is currently under siege by a group which has gone as far as taken our credit card information."
Is there even a shred of evidence that the credit-card-stealer(s) are in any way related to the people who were doing the DOS attacks? The article sure doesn't present any evidence...
@GrieverSoul - Computers are stupid. They do what you *tell* them to do, not what you want them to do.
You tell your kid to brush their teeth, they understand what you mean (though they may not actually do it).
For a computer, you say, "Go north 3 paces, head up the stairs, turn right, right again. If the door is closed, here's how to open a doorknob. If the door is open, go in. Now, let's find the toothbrush [lots more] Bring the toothbrush to y...
Well, note that the guy's icon is an XBox symbol. I'm thinking it unlikely he's a big PSN user... nor that he intends anything but to stir up trouble.
What do you get out of trolling? I mean, stupid people annoy others by *accident*. Setting out to annoy people is like trying to do the perfect faceplant.
You want to impress me? Say something that informs or uplifts people as much as you intended to annoy people. I think you'll find that's a trifle harder.
In the demo for Infamous 1 your energy regenerated - probably to make it easier. They might be doing that with their demo code again.
It literally didn't bother me until yesterday. I had to re-flow my fat PS3 for the 4th time (BRLOD, trying to nurse it along until a price-drop on the slim). But that reset the clock. And whatever internet time server Sony is using is down, so I can't set the PS3's time over the internet.
But that means the Infamous 2 beta won't run! It demands time be set via the internet! Aaaah! I was almost done with my epic two-part mission!
