Have to go to work today. Gotta wait until I get home to mess with it. Grrr.
No, you DO NOT need Infamous 2 to play Festival of Blood.
What's cool is it's not even an add-on. It's stand-alone, you don't need Infamous 1 or 2 to play it.
For $9.99 it's a dang good deal. (Or $7.99 for us PS+ types.)
Yes, you DO NOT need Infamous 2 to play Festival of Blood.
(But after playing FoB, you'll probably wind up buying I2.)
If you try this, you might wind up picking up the full game. It really is a good time.
There's actually some pretty good stuff been made. The editor has some annoying limitations but it's amazing what's possible with a little work...
Slight spoiler...
At the beginning of "They Hunger", you have to walk unarmed through a graveyard. Nothing happens for a while, and you think, "*Man* it would suck if these graves were all zombies."
Then, you finally get a crappy weapon, all hell breaks loose, and you realize you have to go *back*... and now they *are* all zombies.
I get that for free, too, with my PC. Just had to replace a dead DVD burner. My last PC started flaking out, getting unstable - not sure if it was the power supply, the motherboard, or one (both?) of the CPUs. At least I was pretty sure the RAM was OK - passed a lot of memtest passes.
So I replaced the guts.
Of course, had a fat PS3 die on me, and I resurrected it several times with the re-flowing trick.
Hardware failures I can understand, ev...
Steam suggested I update my video drivers, and I tried to. The NVidia installer failed. No useful error, no hint WHY, it just says "Failed". Nothing I have tried has fixed it - not even this: http://forums.nvidia.com/in... (And how ridiculous is *that*?)
It looks like I'll have to reinstall Windows to get my video card back. I start...
Got a six-year-old who loves that stuff, too. It's fun just to see how much he enjoys it.
3D will take off only when we have actual holograms taking up depth, and not before. Here's why: http://blogs.suntimes.com/e...
"[T]he audience must focus their eyes at the plane of the screen -- say it is 80 feet away. This is constant no matter what.
But their eyes must converge at perhaps 10 feet away, then 60 feet, then 120 feet, and so on, depending on what the il...
So why didn't they have this stuff at the start? :)
Gotta disagree about the UGC. Sturgeon's Law says, "90% of everything is crap." Sure, there are a lot of terrible levels... but heck, there are a lot of terrible *games*. There are terrible movies in every genre, and the same for books, and webcomics, and...
From what I can see, the UGC good/bad ratio isn't out of whack with that. It adds a *ton* of replayability and allows for really unusual gameplay.
As to 'making it accessible to the ...
I2 plays just fine with the DS3. I'll try out the move support, but I can't imagine it'll be *better* than the standard controls. *Different*, sure - probably even fun - but not better.
If the reviews are good, I'll get it. If not so good... my 11 year old will get it anyway. :)
Well, actually, I *was* implying that maybe Pro_TactX could benefit from checking out the experiences of women in various environments. As a simple experiment, try gaming for a while with a female name.
The *other* implication is that maybe he could try looking into 'feminism' beyond blog reports about it.
As to how I found the article... it was linked from another blog: 5391d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Just in time! I made some missions in the UGC beta and I'm getting started recreating and updating 'em. Having bosses, and linked series of missions, is *perfect* for what I want to do.
Still wish you could make a vehicle follow a path, though.
More a history of SP than about "Festival of Blood", but interesting.
Yeah. What was his objection again? Which faults were pointed out? I didn't actually see much...
