It takes more than that to get to the alien itself. You're not alone in having trouble getting through it; if you look at the achievement stats, they drop off sharply after you start getting hunted by the alien. The medlab mission in particular (number 5) is tough for newbies, but once you're through that you've learned enough to get through the rest.
It's not a power fantasy like lots of games, but it is rewarding if you get into it.
Quite a decent little FPS, with a couple challenging platforming sections (mitigated by the ability to quicksave) and quite a bit better story than "Tron Legacy". Pretty good soundtrack, too.
Yes, we're seeing more games like that. But it's not like other kinds of games have vanished - you can't call Just Cause 3 or DOOM "story-driven", for example! The existence of the games you list is only a problem for someone who thinks that people who like different kinds of games shouldn't have those options.
Me, I've got no use for bullet-hell games, hidden-object puzzles, and most twitch games. But that doesn't mean I claim they aren...
There was lots of spectacular user-created content for Infamous 2, but finding the good stuff was hard. Unless there's a good system for curating and promoting the better maps and missions, it will be a major chore to find stuff worth playing.
In the parlance of Wikipedia, [citation needed].
Pong for arcade. First home console was the Atari 2600. Can't remember if we first played Combat or Space Invaders, but my brother and I played the hell out of 'em all Xmas day.
I've said it before, the problem is Sturgeon's Law - "90% of everything is crap." How will people *find* the good stuff? Infamous 2 had very powerful creation tools as well, and some really excellent missions were built, up to an including other gameplay styles. But it was never curated properly, so it was hard to find the good stuff. What's the plan for that?
From Phoronix.com: "From one of the game developers at a major studio taking an early stake in Vulkan I was forewarned not to expect any performance miracles out of Vulkan titles at this point. The straightforward explanation is that while the Vulkan API offers a lot of performance possibilities and greater optimizations, the current games/engines are still tuned for DirectX 11 / OpenGL with just calling into the Vulkan functions. It won't be until the new games or reworked engines a...

Monstrum is pretty fun to spectate, too. You never quite know what's going to happen next.
Cross-platform game engines everywhere except Apple's stuff. It'll be interesting to see if keeping their own API (Metal) pays off for them.
Wow, the shadows totally make the difference on the last couple.
Sucker Punch did this for Infamous 2, and it worked... sort of. Admittedly, creating levels for I2 was more complex, but there were some really impressive things created.
The issue was Sturgeon's Law - "90% of everything is crap." A lot of awesome missions were made, but *finding* them was tough, because of all the lame ones. Sucker Punch should have curated things more, made sure someone was finding and publicizing the good stuff. Media Molecule did a better jo...
I'm still getting the bug where, as soon as you get to a side mission with a vehicle (like hijack a prisoner transport or pull a boat into the water), it disappears. Definitely pulled down the 1.1GB download first.
The only one you *have* to have is the "no-intro" mod, which gets rid of that stupidly unskippable intro screen before the game actually starts loading.

@Inzo - If you're worried about "100s of young boys have an ak47 shoved into [their] hands", why are you forgiving devs for writing games at all? Why are you not shaming them for not focusing 100% of their time on such things? Why aren't *you* doing that?
