The bad guys always do that in games or movies. Beat the crap out the hero/heroine early on but leave him/her with enough skills to fight back.
They wiped her memories but not the memories of those who betrayed her and her deadly fighting skills?
Game developers really should trust PC gamers more with variable options. PC gamers are known to be tweakers so locking down a lot of options, especially those that are important, is a bad idea.
Take for example, Dark Souls. If From Software is not confident with their PC game making skill, that's fine and understandable. Just leave a lot of options in the game for the gamers to decide what's best for themselves. id tried to simplify stuff with Rage and look at what h...
I stopped playing consistently several months ago. I'm still around level/rank 30+. I was frustrated by the overpowered helos and jets, especially when there's an army of expert pilots out there. You can't walk several meters safely before some aircraft would strafe you down.
Infantry with virtually useless Stingers VS expert pilots who can use fire extinguisher to negate the usefulness of the already useless Stingers.
I tried playing again after ...
Just like the PC itself, there are many types of mods and modders. Total conversions (very rare these days), graphical mods (most popular one), gameplay tweaks, fan/custom made models/maps/missions(mostly for sims) and UI tweaks to name a few.
The Crysis DX10 effects unlocker mod made my old PC cry while the pet mod for Torchlight does nothing to my PC's performance.
So remember those examples when saying any kind of modding would break the game or brin...
The picture of the mech above looks like Optimus Prime minus the head. And bent legs.
Oh, God...another one of those dumb developer comments. Funny he didn't include traditional consoles in his "this platform is dying" argument.
As long the game developers themselves are still using the PC to write up their game codes, draw textures, debugging codes - i.e. doing all this with smartphones- then there would still be PC gamers and their machines.
We shouldn't laugh at this as if it's a problem afflicting only mobile users. We have already have it on the PC platform and soon for next gen consoles: Free to play games.
For those (F2P supporters) who argued that you don't have to buy any of those stuff to enjoy the game, well, there are game makers who are raking in millions from these games. Ubisoft is angry about 95% PC gamers pirate their game but wouldn't mind if 95% PC gamers don't buy any of the ...
The used to ignore it but right now it's becoming a hot platform since everyone can make a simple game out of it and milk the gamers dry faster and more consistently than console games. Yes, I'm talking about free to play games. Everyone wants a piece of that pie.
There are old titles that have been revive with the sole purpose of becoming F2Ps like Silent Hunter, Mech Warrior, Age of Empires, Command and Conquer. After years suffering and battling always online DRMs,...
Those graphical settings should be standard for all PC games and yet we see console ports kept forgetting about them. The developers know there are "millions" of PC configuration out there in the wild, they constantly complained about that fact and still they limit the options in their games.
There are PC gamers with powerful machines and there those who have PCs at the opposite end of the scale. Both types of PC gamers would certainly appreciate a game that can be...
@andibandit...T900 beat me to it with the appropriate reply about your list.
Anyway thanks to your list I've just realized that I haven't done any proper maintenance on my PC in months. The nvidia panel have been flashing last week telling about the latest driver that's available now but I'm in no hurry to do so. I've been using the CCCleaner less frequently than a couple of years back and ....damn, when was the last time I've defragmented my drives? ...

Thanks for bringing back some memory with the "peasants" talk. Several years back there was a games magazine in my place that features all the gaming platforms. It was at the height of the "The PC is dead" era and the two major consoles were in full force storming the gaming world.
The console section of the magazine was called "Console Keep" while the PC section, the last gaming section, is called "PC Tavern.&quo...
A game that provides a great experience both offline and online at your own pace. Feels like a rare attribute for games these days with the spread of F2Ps.
That's what I want to see in a PC game. Tons of options to fiddle with since different PCs have different performance.
CDP never have any experience in making console games and yet they made a pretty damn good port of The Witcher 2 for X Box 360. For a studio that started out translating languages in games and have developed only two games, that's a pretty amazing feat.
Same here.
He's into consoles since he can reap millions of dollars out them but he used the PC only to promote the Unreal game engine at the highest setting possible. Sure the Unreal 4 engine look awesome on those high end PC demos but once next gen consoles takes off (with the free to play capabilities) he'll dumped the PC again.
On the PC, SP is really facing extinction of some sort. There's so much free to play games being endlessly pumped out these days. In the last couple months alone there are tons of classic PC games being revived. Had these revivals/reboots been announced during the "PC is dead" years, that would've the greatest news every. But ALL of them are rebooted with the word Online added at the end of their titles. Classic games, rebooted into F2Ps. With no singleplayer mode whatsoever...
After years of enduring MS's promises to support the PC, it's hard for to believe anything anymore. Even Windows 8 is a nothing more a move into the mobile market, NOT about MS's "dedication" towards PC gaming. X Box LIVE service in Windows 8 and the only game that was demoed for the new OS was only to show MS tablets' capability.
I'm an extremely loyal PC gamer but it doesn't mean I look down at consoles. I've helped a friend to buy a PSP and recommended the PS3 over a PC to another. Recently I told a co worker which store has the latest Psp Vita games (her husband is a true Sony fanboy-owning every Sony consoles from the PS1 up to the Vita - and a not so cheery view of the X Box). My brother bought an X Box 360 but I didn't go Obi Wan on him.
They chose those devices because they ch...
What you just said but change the device with a console controller. It all depends on the person's preferences. I'm so accustomed to the keyboard and mouse that I find shooters with an X box controller feel cumbersome. There are games and times when I switch between those devices but keyboard is my preferred weapon of choice.
Prime example I 'm playing Borderlands with the X box 360 controller and it was enjoyable sitting back in a relaxed position. Then a super b...
Enjoying the hell out of it. The best thing about it that you can play it offline or online. It's your choice to make which makes it better
