Does it matter? You know you're just setting a challenge for modders out here, don't you?

It's not that graphic haven't improve but it is more like developers are just continuing from where they last left off from Crysis 1.

Always online DRM and day one DLC have combine and evolved into Free to play. It's always online, a lot of content are cut out of the game and you have to eventually pay to access them. Alone they are abhorred by everyone in their respective world. Together they are an unstoppable entity that have already taken the mobile gaming world tightly in its grasp. The PC is being torn apart by it and the consoles are blissfully unaware (or unwilling to accept the possible future) what their belov...

They are currently promoting and building GTAV as we speak but no one among them are looking at the PC SDK. Nothing. A lot of PC versions of other games are delayed only by a month or less nowadays. The PC version is delayed because they don't want to atm. So if they start making the PC version a year after the console version (there will be months of patches and DLC making take them away from the PC version) and then release it a year after that...what's the point? GTA5 will become a...

A pretty standard title/announcement/claim/boast when a shiny new product is being introduced.

X box 360 and PS3 coming out! Death of PC gaming!

MMOs and multiplayer are getting big! Death of Singlepalyer games!

Mobile gaming and touch screen is big! Death of consoles!

F2Ps are big! Everything else is dead!

A prototype of a new controller! It's not out yet but WASD is dead!

Still, it'...

So these developers are willing to spend years and billions to learn how to make games with the X Box 360 and PS3 cpus but suddenly they are not willing to spend any for the less powerful WiiU cpu? At the same time these developers are exploring ways to make games for smartphones and tablets and the last time I checked, most of these devices have less power than the WiiU.

Some of these developers are able to squeeze every little amount juice of current consoles for over half...

It's a Japanese game. What do you expect? Marines in bulky armour?

Scaremongering for hits...maybe. But, let's not forget RDR. I want to join the "GTAV PC will be released much later," camp until I read this :

http://www.pcgamer.com/2012...

It was hinted that "A potential PC version is only “up for consideration,” No, there is no PC version existing atm even though Rockstar i...

Ah...PC VS Consoles: RAM Edition.

I do remember one particular article in a magazine talking about this subject. The RAMs on current consoles are far faster the ones used for the PC (DDR2 was the rage around the time of that magazine). You'd think the enormous speed would give the consoles a big advantage but not really. The faster speed make the consoles' RAM too expensive to produce in larger size hence we're seeing only 512mb per console.

The P...

I just started D2 for the PC after finishing Prototype 2 (thanks to backlog) and so far I'm enjoying it. I love the "open" feel of the games compared to the first one which was rather cramped.

The combat...awesome. 'nuff said.

For once I have to agree about AAA PC games pricing . Unlike regular games, CoD prices tend to stay expensive, even for the PC version, for a couple of years and so far I don't see any huge discounts on Steam sales for the latest ones. Skrim was discounted at 66% for a limited time at Steam's Summer sale but I only see 50% for CoD:MW - no, not MW3...MW1.

Currently on Steam I see Dishonoured, Borderlands 2 and Blops2 listed on the main page. I'm sure the two will s...

What about the guys who are camping outside Area 51 or any other US military bases with cameras and high-powered lenses? What about people who actually smuggled out sensitive documents from offices and willingly handed them to Wikileaks?

Even so Rockstar really shouldn't be doing this. Leaving everything to speculations and assumptions. Gamers still remember the lack of RDR announcements and then its absence from the PC library.

I'm sure some of those who defended Rockstar for usually late announcing the PC version and using the MP3 example are also thinking of "hope they don't pull another RDR." That's what I thought when they left out the PC from MP3's initial announcements. ...

The PC is fine. It's too stubborn and important to simply die off like that.

It's the home consoles' turn to face "______ is dead" era. There are optimistic rumors and expectations for next gen but we all know everyone is looking at mobile devices now. The extremely long development cycle that was designed to keep cost low for end users is showing its flaws in droves.

Mobile devices and the PC are extremely "modifiable" system...

Urggh.....I really hated dancing CGIs. They scared the hell out of me. I rolled my eyes whenever a dance number appear in any CGI animated movie. Feels like a cheap way for animators to show off their animating skills.

The unnatural way they move and shake their limbs like possessed dolls (yes, I'm scared of any horror movies with possessed dolls or mannequins)...they just give me the shivers.

Thanks to Win 7. MS did made Win 7 to run nicely on low spec machines and a number of tech sites noticed that. There was a couple of articles about how efficient Win 7 on such devices but sadly the world was more focused on the emerging war between iOs and Android. Win 7's significant role for the future of Win 8 is harshly forgotten.

Win 7 was optimized for netbooks with a lot of focus on their low hardware spec and touch screen support (during the iPhone craze, just before...

THQ's main games : Company of Heroes that had an Online version and the Warhammer Series with a Horde mode with both games having a unlockable items via XPs and levels like an MMO...just what Ubisoft need for its lists of F2P games (most of its currently planned F2Ps have severe lack of guns, orcs and splattering blood).

Ubisoft is heavily invested with F2Ps and only interested in some of THQ'S IPs, not the company itself...they are not charging in like knights in shi...

I don't think those are merely patches...those are the very DLCs that you wanted to play that are part of the updates, even those that you won't be buying.

Whenever a new DLC is available, a lot of my Steam games started to autoupdate themselves. Why do I suspected them as DLCs disguised as patches? Patches always show change logs. Patches/updates right after a new DLC is announced don't those logs.

Is it OK for developers to off load a lot of gig...

A physical DRM method perhaps?

I noticed that too.

I have mastered the free flow combat in Batman Arkham City that I was flying around groups of goons with barely any effort. Chucking batarangs and freeze grenades simply because I was bored.

I replayed Oni after that and got owned by the AI all the time - versus one enemy at a time. And this was a game that I played repeatedly for years (there was severe lack of punching games on the PC back then).

Please don't make such a bold claim, journalists. You can accuse western game development is full of marines and blood but I could say those are their identity. From what I've read in the article (hand to hand combat, stealth, amnesiac protagonist) Remember Me doesn't stray much from the rest of the industry. It only mixes up some elements to make look/feel much more unique. I do remember the No One Lives Forever, by a US-based company I believe, series and one particular article ...
