"...one man’s desperate struggle to find his wife and child ..."

There will always be a man looking for his wife and child in the post-apocalyptic world (whether in games, movies, TV shows or books). There sure are a lot lost fathers roaming around in such futures.

Egyptian people didn't have the Second Amendments or guns when they asked for a government change last year. All they need is the assurance that they are doing the right thing and they have solid backup for their cause.

I was surprised to see it took this long for Fox to suggest this "game=violence" link.

I've been playing Warhammer Space Marines for a month now and quite enjoyed the multiplayer. There are a lot of DLCs for the game but most them are just skins. Skins that are too bright and colorful to be of any tactical advantage on the battlefield other than the initial shock effects for newbies (I was terrified seeing a black-flaming, horned Chaos Marine with an electrified golden hammer dropped near me but a tactical evade or two later I killed him).

I prefer DLCs tha...

They are not actually eliminating the bots are they? They only limiting them to a certain number that regular players won't complain much and the botters still manage to make some money of it (and give Blizzard a cut).

@StayStatic

Compromises that we have-no, chose to-to live with for a lot of reasons. I know that I'm missing a lot of stuff by sticking to the PC but it's not the end of the world. Doesn't mean I hate the consoles or console gamers. My brother is currently in the middle of choosing between the 360 and PS3. I'm supporting his decision but both of us are in a pickle. Just like my co-worker, my brother was a bit put off by the price of console games. In my plac...

@Dark11

Really..that's the only thing left that console gamers kept saying these days. It's their new hot mantra.

2 years ago they kept questioning the significance of DX11 that PC gamers are obsessed with. They kept stressing the fact that the number of actual games using that API is less than the number of fingers a human being have.

Then BF3 appeared, leading the DX11 charge. The consoles gamers' new mantra is that whorish grap...

Yes...no...maybe...I don't know. Depends on the game and the hype, I guess.

Arma and Arma 2 were released in such poor states but they are still selling today. Reviewers and non-sim gamers bitch about their flaws but their fans are already aware and ready for those imperfections. Negative reviews be damned and wait for the patches.

Reviews for MMOs or online components should be open and not be the final say of the games' true form. Of course broken g...

I bought this game out of whim and it's really is pretty addictive. Although you really need to use an X box controller (I used a Razer Onza) to really enjoy it since there's no ingame options to change any of the controls.

Yes.

BF Bad Company 2 and BF3's launch day server issues was one of the main reasons that a lot of reviews used to drop its overall score.

When it come Diablo 3, a number of sites actually waited for the patches to come out and the server problems were never considered when giving out the overall score.

BF3's server issues : a terrible thing, affects score.
Diablo 3's server issues : an unfortunate event, doesn't affec...

Graphic is simply a part of what makes any game better. It simply needed better direction and implementation by the developers.

I bought Rage at Steam's Summer Sale and find it to be quite entertaining. I encountered the dreaded performance hits when I first started the game but somehow it became smooth after a couple of restarts.

Minor points : I do find the NPCs' reaction to our character a bit funny. I mean, we've just got out our stasis pod and suddenly everyone need our "special" skills to do stuff they are too lazy to do themselves. The first guy who rescued me from the ba...

Beginners/rookies/noobs are the most important feature for multiplayer. They are the ones who provide the much needed points for others to rank up quickly. Giving free points and provide little effort for the dominating team that usually have experienced players. Noobs will the ones who will be visiting the hottest sniping points, the static guns, the vantage points that experienced players know are death traps.

How else one can rank up in multiplayer if it weren't for n...

And so exclusivity will always be the defining, probably the last, feature between the gaming platforms. Everything else such as patches, swappable hard disks, installation and online capabilities are pretty much universal by now.

It's understandable that Sony would never allow Gaikai stream PS4 games for the PC since will obviously undercut sales for their console. BUT, it would still be awkward should Gaikai enabled PC games to be streamed into the PS4 (while Sony is de...

It'll be weird though when next gen comes around. Sony and MS have been very busy with cloud gaming. Sony buying Gaikai and MS integrating everything - mobile, X Box and Windows- all under one platform with cloud capabilities...all point to next gen system where any games can be streamed to any platforms-consoles, mobiles or PC.

So what happens when my Sony account lets me play Uncharted on my laptop via its cloud streaming service or MS letting all LIVE enabled devices p...

Why not. So far CDP have done many things right so I'm not that worried about this development. Seriously after hours immersed in the first Witcher I have been thinking of numerous Witcher clans clashing with monsters and each other online.

Let's put on our observation mode first before we start rage trolling. Let's see what else CDP have to offer us.

As long as they don't go Diablo 3 on us....

The author was right about users starting to instal Steam into their laptops. I've added Steam to my old Celeron laptop several months ago. I played Max Payne with it.

I'm in the process of getting a gaming laptop. The old Celeron laptop will be regulated to downloading game files via Steam which I'll transfer to the new laptop and my main gaming PC later. I'm worried leaving the main PC on for days, even weeks.

How Summer Sales affect my games : It helped me buy games that I might not have dared buying before.

There are some games that I'm rather interested in but I feared wasting good money on them thanks to unflattering reviews or comments in the forums. Warhammer Space Marines (length of SP campaign) and Rage (technical problems)are good examples of that effect. Thanks to the Summer Sale I was able to get them cheaply and I find them quite enjoyable actually. I even wished th...

The first game actually made me looked around my room for the sounds of off-screen falling artillery shells (finally realized why I bought that 5.1 speaker system). A week later, it burned out my power supply (it was a very cheap PSU that came with the casing).

As a whole, it made me shun other traditional base-building, tank-rushing RTSes until others start to emulate its features.

@ziggyvertang

Buying the latest PC hardware isn't simply about raw power anymore. Now we consider the efficiency of any tech. Who wouldn't want some new hardware that perform twice the performance at half the electrical and heat requirement of the previous generations?

I hear there's a new, slimmer version of PS3 being developed. Obviously they've managed to find a way to make it more heat efficient for going with a slimmer profile. I'm ...
