Halo 3 online once, and take a drink everytime some pre-pubescent kid screamed into the mic, someone made a racist/sexist/inappropriate comment/suggestion, swore, or said "no way", or when I killed another player and then also when I died (during that handy respawn time). I didn't make it through one match...

experienced to be understood, and for the most part, it is not a computer to replace the one you use at home or at the office. But some applications in retail will be cool, as well as some for specialized industries.

that microsoft seems to actually listen to peoples suggestion. Will they ever release a new controller with a better d-pad, or make LIVE free? Probably not, but a lot of the other suggestions make sense are are completely doable-- like viewing themes and gamer pics before you buy them, for example, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the spring update...

"Beat PS3 by a mile" in quotes-- who are you quoting? I never said anything like that. My comments are directed towards the ARTICLE, which is "Q4 platform battle, 'which is the best game system for (this) holdiay season.'" You are correct, Gran Turismo is a more well-known racing game, but IT ISN"T OUT YET. Forza 2 and PGR 4 you can play RIGHT NOW, so to most people looking at a game system for this Christmas, that might be more important if racing games are their...

Use some specific examples if you expect to have any credibility "incorrect for the most part" and "totally biased" don't cut it. Besides- I am not totally biased-- I think Ratched and Clank on PS3 is one of the best games released all year, and even mention that. I also give props to MGS4 and Final Fantasy, they are by far the PS3's heavy hitters next year. Killzone, as a sequel to a completely mediocre title, will have to prove itself.

For instance PS3 "will have" downloadable video content, 360 already does. PS3 has casual puzzle games, but 360 has more- Every Extend Extra Extreme, Zuma, Bejeweled, etc. And 360 may not have an action-platformer as good as Ratchet and Clank, but in all other areas it has the PS3 beat by a mile-- Racing games (Forza 2 and PGR 4), RPGs (Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Lost Odyssey), Shooters (Halo 3, Gears of War {still better thatn anything on PS3}). On top of that, ne...

For awhile, but its lack of co-op and the current problems with online (lag, parties split or people kicked, etc.), definitely put it below Halo 3 in my book.

Once Nintendo has verified that the new console is sent, have your friend cancel his credit card. Since they don't charge it until they realize you didn't ship the old one back, ta-da! A FREE Nintendo Wii!

Since it is pretty much universally accepted that the PS3 version is inferior, is how is this possible if Assassin's Creed was a one-time PS3 exclusive that just recently was "ported" to the 360? Wasn't the PS3 the lead platform, like Sony crowed about a couple of E3's ago? Oh, silly people, play the game-- on your system of choice. Then like the game or hate the game based on your experience. But argueing about such small things and such tiny differences-- doesn't it get a litt...

Microsoft helped fund and published Mass Effect; EA would have to buy the rights from them to publish on other systems (PS3), and I doubt that MS will be okay with that. For the two sequels, however, Microsoft would have to pony up some cash to EA, now, to keep them 360 exclusive. Some people speculate that this is one of the factors that led to EA buying Bioware-- they heard about the $50 million MS ponyed up to Rockstar for the exclusive downloadable content for GTA 4, and figured MS would...

Mass Effect's sales numbers are affected by a couple of things that may or may not help: the time it released and competition. Lots of people that go shopping on "black friday" and after are parents, grandparents, etc., and they tend to buy games as presents that kids (or grandkids) have been begging for for awhile. For instance at the Gamestop I work at, we saw a spike in Halo 3 sales, Call of Duty 4, etc., but Mass Effect is "too new" to be on people's christmas lists...

So class action lawsuits etc. don't seem to affect sales. The funny thing is that just like the guy says in the article, you don't HAVE to play Halo 3 on your 360, so if the game doesn't work, exchange it, get your money back, etc. Lawyers are always willing to sue Microsoft because MS has deep pockets and *might* settle to make a frivolous lawsuit go away, but yeah, just as noted in the article, this will only make some lawyers rich. Funny thing is, I have 80+ people on my friends list an...

Why developing on the PS3, the supposed "superior" and "more powerful" system would lead to better 360 games. If you are pushing the PS3, at all, then wouldn't the 360 port (the inferior system) run way worse? Instead you only see that the other way around-- games developed for the 360 first tend to struggle on the PS3, which, if it were more powerful, should have no trouble with these ports from an "inferior" machine. Okay, that being said, look at Call of Dut...

Had 20 people over to play system-link COD 4. Surprise! In system-link games you can only play one person per 360. So we played Halo 3 instead. This, coupled with lack of any type of co-op, shoots down those COD 4 as game of the year arguments in my opinion. And all these "technical limitation" arguements seem like just a bunch of BS to me-- if Halo can do 4 player co-op over live, why can't 2 people per system play a networked game of COD 4?

Since this game is identicle on both systems (it really is-- props to Infinity Ward for realizing that separate but parallel/equal development was the way to go), if we could play Multi cross platform between PS3 and 360. Then, instead of just sniping at each other in forums, xbox and sony fans could blow the sh1t out of each other in the game! It would be a blast, because this game is so awesome, I don't even care when I die, just want to get back in and play more!

I would still give a slight edge to 360-- rumble in controller (shooters just don't feel right without it) and XBOX Live.

Is relative to one basic fact: the 360 came out first, so developers wanting to make games for both the 360 and the PS3 starting working on the 360 version, first, (because they had 360 dev kits first), with plans to port to the PS3 when those dev kits arrived. Remember, the 360 and the PS3 are both multi-core, multi-threading machines, right? Should be easy to port "from" 360 "to" PS3, since the PS3 is supposedly the more powerful machine, right? (this is based off of d...

Trying and succeeding in gaining a foothold? In the Videogame marketplace? With the PS2 out there, they are still on top world-wide, unless you want to discuss the whole PSP vs. DS debacle. Or perhaps you mean in overall electronics? Sony's HDTV's, after a little initial stumble, are back to being ranked as some of the best in the world, and except for those unfortunate exploding laptop batteries, they are doing fine with their VIAO lap- and desktop computers as well. Besides, most anayl...

Microsoft is a large company with a lot of different products an interests, ran by the richest man in the world who is also the world's greates Philanthropist (big word for you, I know, look it up.) They have huge cash reserves, but overall the Home Entertainment division (basically Xbox and Zune) are now profitable. Sony is a huge company, but its videogame division is bleeding money, still, with no end in sight. Newer, cheaper versions of the PS3 have to CUT features to keep from losing e...
