Unreal Tournament was "given" to PS3 as a timed exclusive for 2 reasons: not wanting to go up against Halo 3, and to focus develpment on the PS3 version to help optimize Unreal Engine 3 on the PS3. The game has been in development longer on the 360 (it was announced at the same time as Gears of War). All that being said, this switch WILL benefit PS3, especially this holiday with no real shooter competition on the platform until Killzone 2. But having more maps on the disc doesn'...

San Andreas ran fine on the PS2 without a hard drive, and San Andreas' map was larger than the one for GTA 4. So you can spout more textures this, higher resolution that, but in those cases the longer seek times from blu-ray and the divided nature of the PS3's memory would cause problems, not having a HDD to cache too. Remember, all GTA games until now were made on PS2 first, a system without a hard drive, then ported to xbox, a system with, but from my recolection (owning the ps2 versions ...

Apparently you don't read any of the industry news, eh? Explain the whole Fatal Inertia situation then-- announced as a PS3 exclusive launch title, yet I am playing the demo for it on my 360 today, and the PS3 version is either seriously delayed or canned entirely, depending on who you ask. WAKE UP

That the recent demos shown to the press were on 360-- no one has seen anything but screenshots of the PS3 version. What does that tell you?

As stated just last week, the PS3 version was, is, "a couple weeks behind" the 360 version. Also, by mentioning framerate, it is pretty obvious that the PS3 version is the main reason for the delay. Some people will claim that not all 360's having HDD's is the cause, but how many PS2's had HDD's, and San Andreas had a larger map that GTA 4 will.

Killzone 2 delayed until 2010 as devs try to implement 4-player co-op over PSN. Said one, un-named developer working on the game "we had it running once, but it only ran at 8 frames per second. And then our PS3 dev kits melted."

Dont you think, that Sony who says their free service is just as good as Xbox live starts offering featers Live alwasy has? Does PSN have full HD movie and tv show downloads? Private voice chat, chat across games, instant messaging, video chat, persistant and always accessable friends lists across games? The ability to send messages to your friends, see when they are online, etc. from your PC as well?

Have a sad, bitter little life then.

I rather expected that online co-op would be a no-go for Halo 3. People comparing it to GOW, think for a second. How far are Dom and Marcus from each other in a level at the most? A hundred yards? GOW has a very linear level design, which makes on-line co-op possible. Same with Rainbow Six Vegas, etc. If, in Halo 3, as was stated in an earlier weekly update post on Bungie.net, all of halo 2's maps TOGETHER don't even make up one level in Halo 3, then obviously two players could get VERY...

Try to figure out why his system is getting trounced still by the Wii in Japan and the 360 everywhere else. Kinda sad when people would rather by a toy or a system with reliability problems than your "best on the menu" POS.

That Sony dismissed the Wii as a toy and assumed they would dominate the Japanese market, but guess what-- the Wii is killing the PS3 in Japan, just like the DS sent the PSP to an early grave. Of course the 360 and original xbox haven't sold well, with only a few exceptions, the Japanese won't buy foreign products. But Sony's own arrogance makes them a laughingstock in their home country when PS3 sales are compared to the Wii.

This debate seems strangely familiar. Oh, yeah, Killzone 1 was supposed to be a halo killer. But, according to metacritic.com, Halo was Xbox's #1 rated game at 97, Halo 2 was #3 at 95, and Killzone was.... #715 on the PS2 list with a 70. Haven't you fools learned anything about judging a game on early previews?

For all those "Killzone 2 rulz" fanboys-- Killzone 1 was called a halo-killer by media outlets, etc., based on how it looked, previews, etc. Fast forward to today, long after Killzone and Halo, Halo 2 were released. On Metacritic.com, Halo is ranked #1 for Xbox games with an overall AVERAGE score of 97, Halo 2 is ranked #3 at 95. If you look up Killzone on PS2, however, well, it ranks #715 on PS2 with an AVERAGE score of 70. These are combined rankings from web editors, magazine...

They updated the article and pointed out that is should say "timed exclusive" a lot of Sony idiots are feeling kinda stupid. Well, don't feel so bad. The "exlusive" game is being worked by both sides. So, Killzone 2 WILL be ONLY on PS3, and looks good so far. But guess what-- the original Killzone looked good, too, was called a Halo-killer, etc., and we all know how that turned out. Halo 3 will only be on 360, and if you like Halo (plenty of people do), then you'll nee...

Wow, Sony fanboys love to bash the 360 becuase "some" were defective (My launch system works fine, as does most of the people on my xbox live friends list, only one person I know has had a defective system, and Elite that didn't work right out of the box- something not pushed in all the way or jiggled loose in shipping- his replacement works fine), but here's the thing-- Sony isn't just getting beat by Microsoft (yes, still, even with the 360's "reliability issues"), but t...

That this is confirmation of Microsofts strategy to nullify Sony's advantages from last generation-- the 360 came out first, and this is a definite ADVANTAGE that Microsoft went for ON PURPOSE. Now, with the extended warranty, if 360 issues were a result of rushing to market, it might not as big of an advantage as they hoped ($1 billion loss? Ouch. Good thing MS is swimming in money...), but my sources tell me that one of the manufacturers that USED to make the 360 (so the one MS severed t...

Show me where I even mention the PS3. I am talking about a companies history of customer service. I could even go further, and talk about my Sony CD player in my car that died after a year- they did nothing for me. My friend had a Sony HD Tv, the bulb burned out after 3 months, Sony claimed Circuit City should fix it, Circuit City pointed out to him it was still under warranty through Sony, after REPEATED phone calls to Sony customer service, they shipped a new bulb to him but he had to pa...

At the people who claim Microsoft "had" to own up to a "problem" and fix it-- as someone else mentioned, Sony had a serious problem with their DVD drives/lasers in the first batch of PS2's, and NEVER admitted or owned up to the problem, even after they were sued in a class-action and LOST. At the time, when my PS2 went bad, you didn't even have the option to send it off to get fixed; if it was out of warranty, you had to buy a new one. In the class action settlement, in ...

Are misinterpreting what he is saying. He is talking about exclusives through the end of the year, this holiday season, and by far the Xbox 360 wins. FPS- Halo 3. RACING - PGR4. RPG - Mass Effect. JRPG - Lost Odyssey/Blue Dragon/Eternal Sonata. ACTION - Bioshock, Splinter Cell. Throw in the fact that Madden, GTA4, Assassin's Creed, Mercenaries 2, etc. will be on both systems at the same time, then Microsoft has this year sewn up, especially since Nintendo and Sony's big guys will not be out...

How many people are saying this discrepancey is because "devs are lazy." Why should game developers spend more time to make a better port/version for PS3, when there are not enough PS3's sold (in North America, especially, when you are talking about football games) to make it worthwhile? I half expected to hear that 360 was running these games at 60fps in 720p, and PS3 ran them at 30fps in 1080p, but guess what? That is not the case-- on both systems they are running at 720p. So...
